We had dinner here a few days ago. It's a great, friendly little place with fresh & delicious food. My husband had fried shrimp & I had fried snapper. Both came with fries & coleslaw. The shrimp & fish were.fresh, hot & delicious. The fries were crisp & perfect. The coleslaw tasted great but had a little too much dressing. TL;DR: If you are in Chipley, I would recommend you give it a go. As a NOLA visitor, I found it to be tasty enough for a repeat visit. I'm truly baffled by the variety of reviews that I looked through. But Chipley has not much to offer, and I gave this place a go. I ordered pickup and got a cuban with tots. The location was relatively clean and empty on my arrival. It looked like any small-town eatery (I'm from New Orleans) that I've visited. I found the food to be good and the portion of meat in my cuban to be above average. The bread was especially good and crusty. I would suggest the food that I got to a visitor of Chipley, for sure. It was enough to make two meals of for me, each of which were pleasant and the best food of the places that I tried in Chipley, FL. read more

Nice menu...sandwiches, burgers, pizza, salads, sides, and appetizers. The Pig sandwich is delicious. Carmelized onions with ham, pork shoulder, bacon, and swiss, pressed. Fried okra tasty and good texture. Fried ravioli (herbed ricotta filling, parmesan-crusted batter) had a very generous portion--8 large raviolis with a big marinara dipping sauce for $6. Everything a small town Southern cafe should be, and nothing it shouldn't. We were in nearby Wausau for the annual Possum Festival and just had to check it out while passing through. Seat yourself, make your selections from the menu on the wall, take your order to the cashier, and a wait person will bring the food to your table. You can get fresh crab every day, as well as other tasty dishes. I especially enjoyed the Cuban sandwich. Add fries, cole slaw, hush puppies, fried okra and a glass of ice tea...and maybe even some amazing peach pie for desert ....and you're all set for a nice long nap afterwards. Friendly staff, friendly locals and great food in a type of atmosphere that's sadly fading fast. We shared one of the larger tables with a local family and had very nice lunchtime chat. Very disappointing. I ordered a Cuban and after waiting an hour, it was ham and bacon. Apparently they ran out of pork but instead of asking me if I wanted something else they just threw bacon on it., so I ended up with an inedible salty sandwich on burnt bread. my daughters tenders were burnt as well. I don't mind waiting, but it's not ok to serve someone something other than what they ordered and burnt food. read more

This place is a little gem that can be found on your way to Panama City via Hwy 77 from Chipley, FL. Order at the counter then have a seat. They have great pizza, patty melts and chicken fingers to name a few things on their menu. The staff are very nice and accommodating. Food came out in a reasonable time. The only downfall is there is not much seating. If you are in the area stop by, you won't be disappointed. read more

Loved this little hole in the wall in the middle of nowhere. Why not 5 stars? You have to stand in line to order for yourself off a menu that hangs from the ceiling & fix your own drinks. The food here used to be great, especially the home made French Fries but they must have gotten a new cook or started using frozen fries or something else but they really have gone down hill these past few months. Today was the second time in a month that I couldn't eat the Fries. I've eaten day old fries that were better than these. I hate to post this because they are the only restaurant in the area and I don't want them to close down... I just wish they would go back to the way it was, it really was good for the 1st few years. Used to go here a lot years ago..until the owner totally freaked out on myself my husband and my young daughter at the table. My husband had recently lost his job, we had just been at the local library using the WiFi when to try and keep up our spirits, treat our daughter to pizza as well, we stopped by Katie's. They had a special at the time for pizza Specia. We ordered and walked outside to wait as we couldn't afford drinks or a tip. While we could have asked for free water and left no tip we really didn't want to add the extra work for the workers. They only had one other table with a single diner at the time. We decide to then walk to the Tom Thumb to buy 2 cheap fountain drinks. we walk back to Katie's, go inside and sit at a booth to wait on the pizza..after a bit it arrives. by then my daughter is hungry, you know kids, so we open the box to just continue sitting and eat a quick slice since we had already been hanging out in the empty dinner room when all of a sudden a lady, the owner, comes over to the table a completely tells us off about bringing in a drink....I was so embarrassed and actually afraid of the meanness she displayed. I apologized and explained that we actually were broke, my husband lost his job, we just scraped together the money to buy the pizza as a treat for our daughter, we had been at the library and were really thirsty but couldn't afford the extra $2 a drink and felt it would have been worse if I had asked for a free Water. She didn't care and let us know she didn't need our business. It was just a complete kick in the rear to an already hard situation we were facing. And considering we had been in on other occasions too. Never have we been back and never will. read more

My husband and I love Katie's! The food is delicious and the portions are plenty. We have never gotten anything bad from there. We have eaten everything from pizza to shrimp. They have daily specials so there is something new to try as well as the regular menu. As for the pricing (someone said it was too high), I disagree. The quality of the food and the portions are totally in line with the prices. I am picky when it comes to food and prices and Katie's is not overpriced. read more
