This sushi place has been around for a long time. I hadn't been in a few years and decided to give it a try when I was in that part of town. The wait on a Friday night was 45 minutes, which is typical during the weekend rush. Once seated, we saw that there were a lot of options and rolls to choose from. The food came out fresh and quick for being a packed house. Our server Vincent was very attentive and knowledgeable when we asked about certain rolls. He never let our water get too low and he cleared our plates as quickly as we were done with them. He was very enthusiastic and polite. I will definitely ask to sit in his section the next time I visit. Katsunori is definitely a contender for good sushi places in the high desert. read more

This is my wife and I go to sushi spot. The atmosphere is great and the sushi is even better. Every time we've gone we have not been disappointed. Our server Yang was amazing, she was very attentive and had made sure we were taken care of the entire time. Great great food and amazing service!!! We frequent this spot often. The servers are always great- Joe, Ying, & Christina. Rocky and his crew make the best rolls. However, on our last visit, I over heard the owner, I presume, tell her staff that they cannot speak Spanish. I did not think that was appropriate as it seems most of the kitchen workers are Spanish speakers. We enjoy coming here and like the diversity, but some times the owner(s) seem to abuse their power. I'm really disappointed at the level of service. They used to be very service oriented. This is my second visit in a row recently where we stood unacknowledged by the staff and the host was absent. Even tables were empty and not cleaned. This did not used to be the case. My server Samantha was awesome and gave great suggestions for beer based on what ai normally drink. I love the feel/ ambiance although I would like to hear more traditional Japanese music. Not complaining about that though. Just fix the start of the experience and thing would have been great. The food was basic nothing exciting. They could improve on their service. One young man handling one half of the restaurant and one other female server not the best when the restaurant is full. The ambiance is wonderful and it has a great setting but there is product and overstock visible. Plates were left on tables. It took a very long time to get our meal and people were complaining non-stop behind us as we sat at the bar... They failed to bring out my order and I didn't bother reminding them. We didn't get any refills and I totally would have spent more than $150 if the service and attention had been better. I had my fill, and will not be returning. My daughters and I had headed over to the 99 Cents Store on Main Street in Hesperia. As I was getting out of the car, I looked over to the left and saw Katsunori Sushi. I've been curious about this place for a while now, but never took that first step to try them out. Well, that day was our day... we took a leap of faith and walked in LOL. Surprisingly, it was bigger inside than what I would have expected based on the exterior. Lighting was dimmed, but we could still see... our eyes just had to adjust a little bit. Since this was our first time here, we took some time to look at the menu. We were ordering to-go... 1. Chirashi Bowl - We got 2 of these. I don't know all the fishes that came with it. I just know the standard ones like salmon, tuna, yellow tail, octopus, shrimp. There was one fish I did not care for... maybe it was the butter fish... I didn't like its texture. Overall this bowl was okay. The cuts for the fishes were very small for the price. 2. Spicy Rainbow Roll - First time getting a spicy version of the rainbow roll. This was very good. Wished the roll was a little bit bigger. 3. Ichi Roll - This one was okay. Wished it was bigger though. 4. Beef Yakisoba - My youngest daughter said this was really good. Wished the portion would have been bigger... size seems to be a concern here LOL. Staff was okay. We were informed our order would take about 25 mins so we walked over to 99 Cents Store to shop in the meantime. When we returned, it was a few mins past 25 mins and our order was still not ready yet. We ended up waiting for another 30 mins... almost a good hour! Not sure what was going on. They weren't that busy AND they had 3 or 4 sushi chefs back there. I really don't know what to feel about this place. I wanted to like it, but I'm just not feeling it. The waiter was nice but I'm assuming she's very inexperienced or new so I'll give her the benefit of the doubt. We had a party of two on a Saturday, she sat us pretty fast but took us to a table that was dirty and wiped it down in front of our faces before sitting us down. So we had a wet table. I walked our sushi order up to the server standing at the bar AFTER waiting 15+ minutes. They never came around to refill our drinks. Our table was full of dirty dishes and empty cups. We ordered a chicken teriyaki roll for my son, took them 45 minutes to bring it out. Server told us the kitchen was "backed up". Hard to believe when the table across got seated, got their food + drinks AND their bill.. all before we got any of our food. They really need to get their service/ sever situation figured out.
