I was curious about Mama Fresh Grill Teriyaki (formerly Toyma FGT) because I do enjoy a good grill teriyaki entree. WOW... what a hidden gem located in the Shops of Topaz in the City of Hesperia. Parking is available. Quite an open space inside with good amount of seating. Great to see a very clean and tidy place. I was greeted right away by the owner lady. She was very nice and friendly. Their menu is simple and not vast, but plenty to fit the bill. Prices were very reasonable. Btw, they cook their food items to order so please be patient as your food will be coming out piping hot and delish. I will wait for fresh food cooking any day! I ended up getting 3 items (see below). OMG... they were all SUPER DELICIOUS! Chicken was extremely moist and tender. Shrimp was exceptionally very good. I was surprised on the abundance of chicken and shrimp... I am open to receive... thank you! Teriyaki flavor was so on point... not heavy, not light... just right! Fries are a must... YUM! Portions were huge. Hands down the best grill teriyaki in town! I am really irritated because this isn't the first time it happens but I ordered a grilled teriyaki plate with out veggies but with green onion and avocado. I also ordered 2 yum yum sauce on the side. And just like last time they forgot my green onions and my yum yum sauce that I paid extra for again! I should have know better but I didn't double check because I was busy doing the rest of my errands. I didn't realize those things were missing until I got home.... PLEASE BE AWARE TO DOUBLE CHECK YOUR ORDER IS CORRECT BECAUSE THEY KEEP FORGETTING THINGS EVEN THO YOU ARE PAYING EXTRA!!! Also they didn't even bother giving me my receipt so I have no receipt to show proof. They only gave me my order number ticket which I was order #86. I'm not sure why they keep messing up when I've gone both times that they've missed the sauce or any other items. They have not been crazy busy. I'm in town and needed a place to try for dinner so I checked yelp and I found this small teriyaki restaurant. When I first walked in the ambience was quiet, friendly and clean. There were no customers in the restaurant so the staff was able to assist me immediately. I decided to order two different items on the menu. The first was the beef teriyaki on rice and the second was the beef and chicken fries. Both items were made well and I was extremely satisfied with the items I selected. Horrible food. No flavor, noodles dry and pasty. Everything was under seasoned. Spent money on food that was sub par. The food is OK but EXPENSIVE, i rather go to Ono Hawaiin Bbq by amargosa for a better meal and higher quality . Definitely over priced . I suggest they Improve on the prices for everything on the menu . read more

The beef fries were amazing!! The teriyaki fries were also good! The plates are a decent amount to share with someone too! The only thing I didn't like was the orange chicken, I'm used to having a heavy glaze and it didn't have much glaze or sauce. First timers here and what a great experience! Phoned in my order and went to pick it up. Upon entering the establishment I was greeted by staff and restaurant was very clean. Easy transaction at the register. We ordered the chicken/steak teriyaki plate and shrimp/chicken plate. It was DELICIOUS! This food was very mid :( ..... not flavorful. Nothing special. We got the beef and chicken dish with rice. And a side of Gyoza fried dumplings. My husband and I only ate it because we were starving. But unfortunately not coming back very expensive we spent $35 for only 1 dish with a small side of dumplings & dessert. Pretty much almost $40 for a serving for 1 person lol. I stopped here on my way to Apple Valley and enjoyed it quite a bit! The food is reasonably priced and very good!! I ordered the Beef Teriyaki Fries with an order of Spring rolls as well as an order of Mozzarella Sticks. The teriyaki beef had a very soft bite that complimented the fries and made for a decent experience, though I did the find the beef to be a bit too chewy for my personal preference. As for the spring rolls, I thought they were made very well, they had a very nice bite to them and the flavor was everything I wanted it to be. The Mozzarella sticks were also very good, the cheese was extremely melty and soft, though the breading left room for improvement. Overall, I really loved my time here; it made for a great stop during my road trip, especially since the service here was great. I would recommend! read more

In the same location as the former Downtown Peruvian Cafe. I thought the interior space looked familiar. Anyways, now teriyaki beef, chicken, and shrimp is served. I ordered the #6 Chicken and Beef Teriyaki. It comes with steamed white rice and vegetables. I also ordered a Spam musubi, which came one to an order sliced in three pieces. The teriyaki tasted good with the thin sliced chicken and beef. The food is stir fried to order fresh. The veggies, cabbage and carrots, were steamed. The rice, however, was a bit soft and could have used a few more rinsings before cooking. There was a slight starchy taste. The soft texture was very evident in the musubi with the rice appearing very smooth like a mochi cake. Otherwise, the teriyaki itself was tasty if you don't mind the rice texture. I was given a small container of Yum Yum Sauce to try. It was flavorful, creamy, tangy and sweet at the same time. I enjoyed the sauce. It was a good accompaniment with the food. The staff here are very friendly. Even the chef came out to asked whether I liked the food. I did. Plenty of parking since the restaurant is in the same shopping area center as The 99 Cents Only Store. read more

My go to teriyaki spot just got BETTER. Definitely worth checking it out. Just tried their new plates and OMG! We got their garlic shrimp, garlic chicken, and their Korean chicken all were very tasty. The chicken was fried so it's different than their regular teriyaki. I asked that both be cooked well done, I like the slight char on that was on both items. Was really good to taste and good enough portion to feed 5 people. We were all able to share and figure which one we liked best. However, it was all pretty good. Rice was a little mushy.. so that was my least favorite but not a total deal breaker. Not bad but not great. A very heavy flavor of sesame oil. I ordered the beef and shrimp with a side of spam musabi. More veggies and shrimp cooked alittle longer would have been a plus but it ended up being lacking. The spam musabi was good but didn't have much sauce. Inside was clean and organized.
