I cannot say enough great things about this place! Everyone was incredibly helpful, caring, and informative throughout Rocky's entire surgery experience. Dr. Woods was absolutely amazing and took the time to explain everything while also helping calm some of my nerves beforehand. You can truly tell how much she cares about her patients and their owners! The aftercare was fantastic as well, with a detailed packet explaining Rocky's surgery, medications, and recovery instructions. I felt very comfortable and well informed the entire time! We've had nothing but excellent care with this office. I have my new baby, Sloane, on their wellness insurance and it's been the best decision ever. Her well visits, as well as her spaying was zero out of pocket as everything is covered. I also have a separate insurance for illnesses because often emergencies are untimely and expensive. They treat her like a little princess and are very helpful with their advice. I adore the entire staff and feel very comfortable with their care of my baby. read more

Great vet! Unfortunately, Angela at the front desk was rude and confrontational. She doesn't explain protocol well, miscommunicates, and has a generally unbecoming presence. I purchased my pup from Petland and in my package i received a handout advertising the wellness plan the Katy area Vetinerinary medical group offered along with office visit discounts. I attached it for anyone interested to check out. When i asked about the wellness plan, angela seemed annoyed by the question and told me they no longer offered it. She then charged me $75 for the appointment. When i asked about the office visit discount, she condescendingly stated "well, that's why i told you not to come". Which was absolutely false. I did not feel supported nor welcomed . In fact, i felt like an annoyance to angela. Absurd. while i do think my fur baby would be in great hands with the staff veterinarians, Angela definitely is not someone i care to encounter again and is a poor representation of the clinic. A true disappointment.If you purchase a pup from Petland Katy, please know that the Katy Area Veterinary Medical Group does NOT have a wellness plan as advertised and the front office desk is unreasonably difficult and quite miserable. I've switch over to Dr. Fidelis. He's treated our family dogs for nearly 20 years and has a wellness plan that's easy to enroll into. Furthermore, his staff is very attentive, respectful, and always welcoming. Glad to be returning to his team. read more

Horrible service. Staff has an attitude. The location in Morton ranch is never open they always refer you to the cinco ranch location.The staff comes across very races. The vet office I went to recently opened on Morton Ranch and Grand Parkway. The place is small, but full-service. I like the fact that it isn't a huge place. I made the appointment because my dog had a persistent cough, but discovered she has heart problems. Dr. Deal did a great job helping my dog, and was mindful that I'm on a budget when prescribing a treatment plan. He emailed me reading materials and called me after each treatment to check on his furry patient. The staff is friendly and helpful. I really hope this place thrives, because I want them to keep treating my fur baby. read more

Brought my dog in end of September as her vision went. For the past year they charted it as dry eye. Never did they go further then telling me to put over the counter drops in. I was told on last visit her blindness was cataracts and she'll adjust. It didn't sit well with me so I went to a specialist. My dog had ulcers on her eyes! Specialist removed it, but on follow up she healed, but would develop ulcers again as her eyes didn't have protection anymore to keep water build up out. Additional surgery needed. Overall neglect from vet this past year and the pain my dog was in with wrong diagnosis. They never called out of concern when report was sent from specialist. Overall, research out other vets. Ignorance of chronic dry eye is no joke. read more

I have a 135 pound rotweiller mix - he gets nervous and scared - the staff here are better than any vet i have been - they are patient and treat him like a family pet / instead if automatically assuming he is aggressive just because he is big. I would recommend them highly to anyone. read more

Unfortunately, this facility, or better yet, the owner's wife did not treat me like a human being or have any empathy for me when I "accidentally" arrived in their office. Angela Purser, the Vet's wife was doing check in with her make shift desk on the side, on the day I arrived with my 13 year old mini teacup poodle who could not breath, and I was clearly upset and crying. She seemed soooo aggravated that I did not have an appointment. She was so unbelievably rude to me, and could have CARED LESS that my dog was VERY sick. She never even asked if I was ok or if possibly they could help me in anyway. Her office was busy and all she seemed to care about was whatever she was doing on her laptop near the doorway. Most likely she needed to get those payments rolling in... because obviously that's what was more important to her than me crying like a baby and my tiny baby gasping for air. After we established that I was at the wrong facilty, she was done with me. Didn't even show me to the door, wish me the best with my baby... NOTHING! I was in the wrong facility because I had not been to sleep. I was up with my sweet girl all night long and just drove to the place I had used and actually liked before ever meeting this lady. Angela... please have more compassion for people and for animals. The photos on your website are NOT you. You were not smiling and you were very unkind to me and my animal and everyone needs to know about the way you treated me. If you treated me this way, this is not the first time you've treated someone else this way. For the record to the folks reading this, I also called the office the day after to let them know how she treated me and asked for Angela to return my call if she believed she owed me an apology, and that phone call never came through. Angela... I'm sorry you had to treat me and my baby girl this way. She passed away right after this incident in your office. She is now gone and it wasn't her time and I'm sorry you had nothing to say to me. read more

They ALWAYS call after every appointment to check on our pets well-being. We won't go anywhere else! I bring my dogs here and I have brought Foster dogs here as well. The only reason I put 4 stars is because each time I come in we see a different vet... But other than that all our needs are taken care of. The techs and receptionists are amazing, amazing and the office manager has been very helpful to me also. While the continuity of care by the vet hasn't been great, I haven't demanded the same vet each time or anything either and they've all been very competent. It's not difficult to schedule appts either, and I barely ever have to wait very long. I definitely recommend this office. It's not as big and fancy as some of the other vet offices in the area, but that's not a top priority for me. It's clean and my animals are taken care of. read more

I brought my cat in this past weekend, because she'd vomited after I switched her food, and was dry heaving in the morning. I brought her in because I was concerned it might be a respiratory issue, but the doctor dispelled that notion after an initial examination. They gave her a shot and injected some fluid to hydrate her. That would have been enough, because my cat seemed healthy and normal otherwise, but the veterinarian suggested blood tests that returned entirely normal results (except for the platlets test, which is apparently broken). I ended up with a bill for $563, because on top of hundreds of dollars of unnecessary tests, I was sold what I thought was going to be a sample of her preferred flea medication. I want to rate it one star because I left feeling entirely exploited, but the fact they're open on Sunday deserves a bonus point. I believe a veterinarian should instill trust in their customers and provide quality service, not upsell unnecessary services. Their service was friendly, and the veterinarian explained everything thoroughly, but that doesn't change the fact that I will be sure to find someone else to care for my pet. read more

So, I took my puppy here for his shots January 4, 2020. Visit went well,one of the tests was to check for heart worms. I told the vet I still had one dose of heart guard left for this month. This past Thursday I placed an order for the 6 months supply with Chewy.com for a different brand of heart worm/flea medication at a fairly decent price. Today, I got a call from Chewy stating the Veterinarian told them I have to pick up the script in person. Katy Area Veterinary DOESN'T work with Chewy? It's 2020 & this place can't authorize approval with all this technology?! I didn't see any signs stating scripts are only given in person if you plan to purchase elsewhere. When I paid $200 for his visit earlier this month it would of been nice customer service if I were told and given a hard copy for when I was ready to place my order. Minimal a copy should of been put in his file for when I would be ready to order. The Vet didn't tell me about this ridiculous rule when I told him I would purchase more heart worm medication later. I called the office and was told by one of the employees that I have to go in person and Dr Purser will be off tomorrow. So now I have to wait till Wednesday for his precious signature, mail it to chewy and wait even longer for the medication. My puppy's next dose is due February 7th. Good thing I didn't wait last minute. Without customers you won't have a business. How about treating paying customers with better customer service. read more

I am a first time kitten owner and have been very pleased with Dr Anderson and her staff. I agree with previous comments that the tests ordered or vaccines suggested are explained in detail with my input to make decisions. The approach is conservative but keeps the animal as the priority. I have appreciated the suggestions on behavior modification. Dr. Anderson is so easy to talk to and never acts rushed. I request her specifically and have had no problem making a timely appointment. The office is very efficient and clean. Would never go elsewhere! read more

I was able to get in the same day I called, an important factor when your dog is sick. And, I was a new patient, so it was really appreciated! Dr. Masse and his staff couldn't have done a better job! We were taken right into the examining room and helped. Everyone there did their best to make us feel comfortable. The rooms were spotless and it didn't have that disgusting smell that some vet offices have. The tests were explained and I gave my approval. As it turned out, not all of them had to be run since the initial tests showed my dog didn't have certain problems. I liked the conservative approach, and the fact that each step was evaluated before continuing with further tests. The call the next day helped so I could get a new question clarified. Been going here for over ten years now. Nice facility, some of the vets are very knowledgeable and thorough. The staff also was very friendly and courteous. I have taken my dogs there for a multitude of issues over the years and have been happy with most of the service except the price. Very expensive when compared to other vets doing the same procedure. For example, neutering. I was quoted about 600$ for my male dog. I went to a different vet as the clinics that do this would not take my dog due to his age. I got it done else where for about 100$. Some of the newer vets that are now there you can differently tell they are new. I would differently ask that my dog to be seen by some of the more experienced vets. I have been going there less and less over the years do to location and the price but still go to get second opinions sometimes. Be sure to get a price of what they recommend before they do anything as it will add up very quickly and a routine check up will end up costing hundreds of dollars. read more

They took great care of my dog and I have been back with my other dog for regular check up and vaccinations. The doctors, vet techs and front office were all so nice and caring. I have taken my pets here for 17 years. They are the best in Katy by far. My dog loves it here. She loves to board here and gets so excited when she knows she is going. Not scared not anxious yes excited. The Docs are all Aggie trained so you know they are the best. They are so caring and compassionate. They never rush exams and are thorough. One time I had to be put in the hospital unexpectedly and they even came to my house to pick up my dog to get boarded while I was there. The staff are the best. My dog loves all the Techs and they know her by name when we come for her exams. They give 100% to ensure pets are healthy and happy. read more

Extremely happy, I have 10 dogs, some that cost $10,000 since they detect seizures and cancer. I'm picky about who sees my dogs, decided to try this vet two weeks ago because of an emergency with my dogs paw, I already knew what was wrong since I went to vet school but changed majors. It was her toenail that somehow was broken up in her paw, they immediately saw her cut out the toenail, thoroughly cleaned and wrapped it well. Posey was out of it, thank goodness so I could sleep and she woke up feeling better, amazed by the phone call I received the next morning to see if she was doing well and if there was anything else I had questions about, I did because my husband took her and I asked the questions and they were answered immediately. Love that. Was worried about the nail may not grow back and they said it might not, which is expected since it was high up. Well four days passed I took off the bandage and perfection, 7 day the nail is growing back. Thank you so much and I'm going to make this my new vet. Prices were extremely fair.
