Went here on a Saturday for a birthday. I was able to quickly get a pint of beer for my husband at the large bar inside, but when I wanted to order a mocktail, I was informed it would take too long "out here" and to go to the cocktail lounge. I paid for the pint and proceeded into the cocktail lounge. The service in the cocktail lounge was the reason for the low rating. There were 5 or 6 bartenders and each had 2 customers in front of them. The bartender on the farthest right had a huge group of 8 people so I went to the far left where the bartender had only 3 customers. He was making drinks so I patiently waited. He did acknowledge me while he was making 2 drinks and asked me what I wanted. After I told him, he nodded and continued chatting to the other customers. He made 6 more drinks and starting talking to another pair that just walked up. At this point he was just cleaning his area and washing mixers. Then as other customers came in, he held up the drink menu and said loudly "cocktails!" trying to get others to come to his side of the bar. He had not started on making my drink and was talking to 2 more people that just came over. He didn't really talk to me or say more than 2 words to me. Since I was there for 20 minutes now, I brought the full pint in front of me so maybe he could see I was waiting with someone's drink and I had been there for a while. He took the new orders and kept talking to them. At this point, it had been 30 minutes and my husband came to check on me and grab his drink and bring our kid since she was crying waiting for me. I apologized to my husband loudly hoping the bartender would get the hint that he was taking way too long. So then I was holding my kid, waiting for my drink for 8 more minutes, and then the bartender finally made the drink and said, "thanks for being patient". It was so rude that he didn't talk to me and spoke to everyone else, especially the people who came after me, even though he knew I was waiting and alone. If he talked to me like everyone else I probably wouldn't have been counting minutes. I suggest if you go here, don't order any drinks from the cocktail bar. Stick to the large beer bar and you should be good. I was able to go to the large bar a few other times and it was always quick and everyone was way more friendly. I don't recommend the cocktail lounge unless you want to spend 38 minutes waiting for a drink when there were only 3 people in front of you. read more

Happy 4th yall! I strategically looked for a place near the katy mills mall where they light fireworks and found this new beer garden! LOVE. Definitely can be a family oriented beer garden. Since this place is so new, there wasn't much of a crowd quite yet. They have food trucks along with games on a well lit outdoor sitting area. They have a little upstairs rooftop vibe that i was really digging, but unfortunately, I couldn't see the fireworks from where we were sitting. We decided to move downstairs where we got a great show! Accompanied with a huge IPA list, Katy beer Garden also has a bar strictly for alcoholic drinks. There is another side of the cool beer garden separated by a curtain that provides the ultimate bar vibe you would get in Midtown. Super dark with edgy and artsy decor. You definitely get a taste of a little of everything at this 2 week old beer garden. Service is okay. Didn't meet anyone with much of a welcoming personality, but I know sometimes people also have off days, and working on the 4th was probably not on their "what I wanted to do list." Nonetheless, playing a game or 10 of cornhole really led to an awesome and relaxing time with a couple of friends. Will be back! read more

A for effort, C- for execution. Love the concept and the idea but when we went while it was beautiful day and crowded the experience was just not for us. Long lines and beer that was just ok, I think this place has an id identity crisis and should decide if it's trying to be a chill beer garden like a brewery or a German hoffbrau house. Michael M. Was rude. Seems to lack the hospitality skills needed for this environment. I will avoid him if I come back. I've been multiple times and have always enjoyed it--until this visit. I walked up to the bar and politely asked a very normal question for a place with roughly 100 beers on tap: "What's the best sour you have?" Instead of, you know, doing his job, the bartender rolled his eyes at me and said, "I don't know dude, I've been here since ten," then rolled his eyes again and literally flung a menu at me. No suggestions. No effort. Just attitude. If asking for a recommendation at a craft beer bar is considered an inconvenience, that's a serious problem. I wasn't asking for a dissertation--just basic guidance, which is kind of the point of having knowledgeable bartenders. Two other bartenders eventually helped me and were perfectly polite, which only highlighted how unnecessary and intentional this guy's behavior was. He even circled back later after watching me order, muttering something about "if I needed help," still with the same irritated tone--as if I was the problem for daring to ask a question. If you're burned out, fine--but don't take it out on customers. Eye-rolling, dismissiveness, and tossing menus is not the vibe for an expensive beer garden that prides itself on selection. I'll be back in spite of this bartender, not because of him. Management should seriously address this, because one person with an attitude like that can ruin an otherwise solid place. read more

Very cute place out in Katy! Truly enjoyed our selves on a spontaneous visit. The staff was very nice and helpful. They have a decent beer list by listing things not commonly seen out and about. There were two food trucks but we had ate before so couldn't try anything despite it looking delicious. It is definitely on the pricy end ($14 for a 20 oz beer) but I'd say check it out at least once. read more

We had to try this place out. The parking there was a little crazy, people were parked about a mile away from the Beer Garden. The place is truly amazing and beautiful. The outside is awesome, covered patios and seating outside also. It was hot outside but i observed the staff handing out cold water to all the guests outside! We ordered beer and mixed drinks awesome service. They have pretzels in the restaurant but they have two food trucks out front for individuals who want to eat. I also loved the establishment is family friendly and pet friendly! Lots of stuff for children to do there. I can't wait until the weather cools down, I'm definitely hitting this place up. My husband and I were so excited when we found out this place was opening up so close to our home! We always found old Katy to have a small town charm to it so it's nice to have a business that we plan on coming back often to. Drinks were great! We were hoping for more specialized cocktails since the owner was part of opening our favorite bars: Woosters Garden, Holman Draft Hall and Heights Bier Garten. I guess they're more focused on the beer options since there are a ton on tap. We got the Bavarian pretzel that came with mustard, Dijon mustard and butter. It was very fresh, light crisp on the outside and very soft inside. Definitely recommend if you're too lazy to check out the food truck options and just want to order from the bar. I came here for a family outing. I'm not sure if there are any other bars or businesses in the same realm as this place, so this place was quite busy and had many people and tables in use. Be prepare to get here early to save some tables if you come in large groups. Otherwise, the establishment is quite nice with a large outdoor patio with a 2nd floor open patio. There seems to be a large, and I mean TX large, patio TV in the making when I was there which would be great for any sports watching. There were a few food trucks just outside the premise with plenty of food options and allowed to be brought into the beer garden area. The interior has plenty of seating and large wrap around bar with a separate entire room for their cocktail serving and quieter environment. Since it is popular, the parking lot will be full. Luckily they have valet that will ease your mind for any parking related stress. I worked with Taylor for all the arrangements and details for our party. She was great and very responsive and easy to work with. All but one table inside was already blocked off with a reserved sign. We picked the one table that did not have a sign. It, too, got a reserved sign placed next to us while we were drinking our beer. Frankly, having no table seating available indoors for walk-up patrons is patently ridiculous. Especially when the tables remained empty the whole nearly two hours we were there. The hours had changed from a noon open to an 11:00 open. It was clear the staff wasn't quite ready for this. We gave it another chance. We tipped out on the *full* value of the bill. The food was okay, but pricey. The beer was good, but pricey. The service was a bit better. Unfortunately, the value does not equal the price and the ridiculous fighting against empty table reservations is a non-starter. There are better choices at better value. read more

The place is really nice and it's a good venue to meet friends. It's a big place! This is not a brewery it's a beer garden and it's presented as such. The issue is the beer section. It's nothing special. It's the same selection you can get at most places around Katy. So they aren't looking for different beers around the state or country but settling on whatever there vender tells them are the "hot sellers". It would be nice if they stepped outside the box and introduced beers that are not at all the other Tap Houses and Bars in Katy. Parking is decent but get there early. Uber-ing there is a nightmare as it takes you to No Label Brewing. They may want to look into that. They are credit or debit only. A trend on the rise. They do not offer flights of beer nor do half pours. Service was good. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The outdoor area has trees wrapped in fairy lights. There is also a space with multiple corn hole boards set up.
