Highly recommend using this business. When we did, it was such a professional & pleasant experience. The owners are down to earth & you can immediately sense how genuine & awesome they are. We were new to the area & getting a car repair is probably the last thing anyone wants to do, ever, but especially not knowing anyone in the area. Finding a car repair sucks b/c I have NO idea if what they're saying is true so trust is SO important when dealing w/auto repair. The warm welcome w/the pup & Fran & Dave immediately set me at ease -which is not normal, haha. We have been here several times w/different cars & once was even told the repair wasn't urgent & can definitely wait (annoying squeak I thought was brakes). I was impressed that a $1,200 repair wasn't pushed to be done right away. Still waiting on doing it but definitely know where I will always take our cars. Most recently I needed a light bulb changed & hubby couldn't get to it (smaller Cadillac) so when I brought it to in w/my open package of bulbs Dave was so awesome & insured I would have my car back to pick up the monkey from school & not only was he truthful in that promise but he changed both, not just the one, w/o me even thinking that it probably is smartest to change at the same time. I've been given "above & beyond" service every time I've been there. Over the year & 1/2 I've lived here I can say that I've grown to know Fran & Dave on a personal level & they are more amazing outside of work so now this review seems biased but it started totally professional :) Overall, AMAZING people & thank God they own an auto repair shop where their customers can trust what is being said. These guys are the best! I can't say enough good things about how I was treated by them! My friend, a guy who has some sort of classic car that's his baby, referred me here because he trusts them with his super cool car. My check engine light was on and I needed something fixed before I could pass inspection. The mechanic thought it could be fixed, but it couldn't & he has someone deliver the part. It was really inexpensive and didn't bother me a bit. He even went so far as to try to see if it was covered under warranty and it wasn't ( it's a 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee with very low mileage). He also did an oil change and advised me to change it before the change oil light came on because it was filthy. I was told give it a few days before I took it for an inspection so the check engine light would go off. Unfortunately, that didn't happen, but when I called they were as kind as ever and had me bring it in to see what was happening. I needed an additional part and he ordered it immediately and I brought it back when it arrived. I was only charged for the part, not the labor and I can't even begin to express my gratitude! The check engine light is now off and I'm getting the inspection today. I will never bring my car anywhere else, even if I move and have to drive quite a distance. As a novice vintage truck owner I'm used to being given very high ballpark estimates on work that apparently needs doing on my Classic truck. This is not my experience with these brilliant people! The guys at Katy FDA were super helpful from the first phone call and put me totally at ease, relaxed enough to willingly leave my truck with them to repair any and all of her ailments. The work they did for the incredibly low price and how quickly they did it rekindled my fading trust in garages. I now have a truck that purrs like a happy big cat and a smile on my face a mile wide. This is a small auto repair shop in old town Katy but these guys are old time professionals that know what they are doing and will not overcharge you or do work that is not needed. I took my car to them after being told by another repair shop in Katy that I had a bad high pressure hose and that to do the repairs it would be over $700 but the $75 I paid for the evaluation and leak test would apply towards the repairs. I thought this was a little steep and found Katy Foreign and Domestic Auto through a friend for a second opinion. These guys know what they are doing as they knew what was the likely culprit - did not use existing information from the previous estimate to form an opinion and came back and told me that the hose was not damaged only the o-ring which is not uncommon at all. They also told me that no die came from the system when they did the leak test which means the other repair shop did not even properly evaluate the problem. I would highly recommend these guys as they are incredibly honest, honorable, and do excellent work. The air conditioner has worked flawlessly since the repairs and I am exceptionally happy that I did not listen to someone that I had trusted to do work on my car in the past. Let me just say that I just had the BEST experience with David at Katy Foreign & Domestic. He was referred to me by a good friend to help identify an ongoing transmission problem with my daughter's Lexus. Trust me, its been a MAJOR PAIN!! Even though he told me that he really doesn't work on transmissions, he very graciously looked at the vehicle for me and identified my problem. If that isn't enough, he even offered to drop my vehicle off at the local transmission shop tomorrow morning where the vehicle will be repaired! I happened upon this auto repair shop through Yelp. I was traveling into Houston and had an issue with my serpantine belt. I pulled off the highway and went right to my Yelp app, finding this fine establishment!! I pulled up to the shop, went inside and was greeted by Dave the owner. He immediately had a tech outside to look at my vehicle. He quickly understood what was wrong, the parts were ordered and I wasn't gouged on price. The fact that I randomly pulled into the shop with a vehicle that could not travel much further, they had me, regardless off cost.
