I've had Katzinger's plenty of times for office events from their other location, though years ago). I remembered always enjoying it. Decided to swing into the Dublin location. Love the interior, space, layout. The staff were awesome. FOH took great care of me and it was fun seeing the BOH banter with each other having a good time. Unfortunately, I was underwhelmed by the hot corn beef on rye. The mustard was the best part but the meat was just above cold and frankly lacked any flavor. The rye was good but a tad too dry for my preference. At almost $20 for a sammch and fountain drink I'd really like to have more than meh. I'm a sucker for a deli so I won't give up; so helpfully next time knocks it out. read more

Prior to last week, I had only been to the German village location. I really like that this location is open until 8 pm and seemed less cramped. I felt like the tables were a little bit more spaced out and the staff were friendlier. I love their matzah ball soup and pickles. The pickles were so fresh in the barrel here!! I also loved their special which was a hot roast beef sandwich with garlic, caramelized onions and Italian granolas. Absolutely delicious and I hope it makes it to their daily menu because this honestly is the best sandwich I've had from Katzingers. I really wanted to love this place. With Katzinger's name and reputation behind it, I walked in expecting a home run--but unfortunately, this lunch date ended up more like a slow single to right field. The Sandwich Situation - $39 for two sandwiches and two sides of potato salad? For that price, I expected something crave-worthy. Instead, I got an order mix-up right out of the gate: pumpernickel bread instead of the bagel I clearly asked for. The salmon was overly fishy, and the sandwich as a whole just didn't hit the mark. Average at best. Potato Salad - It looked promising, with a hefty portion and nice presentation, but the flavor was just... missing. No real seasoning, no zing, no wow factor. Very bland, and it definitely didn't do anything to boost the experience. Value - For nearly $40, I expected a deli experience that stood out. Instead, it felt more like a quick grab-and-go meal that missed the premium mark entirely. Service & Atmosphere - This is where Katzinger's redeemed itself a bit. The service was excellent--prompt, polite, and professional. The interior was clean, well-organized, and inviting, with that classic deli charm. Final Thoughts: Katzinger's has the polish, the brand, and the potential--but for the price point, the food needs to deliver. My hubby had been excited to take me there since he had their egg salad sandwich for a work lunch. So when we were in the area (and very hungry), we stopped by here and got some sandwiches to go. I got the Jimmy's Photo Finish, with pastrami, Swiss cheese, red onion, hot mustard, grilled on rye. It sounded like a sandwich I loved as a kid, so I had to try it. At almost $18, I was expecting an enormous sandwich, but it was a pretty average sized sandwich. The flavors were really good. Just the right amount of hot mustard, so it wasn't overpowering. My hubby got the egg salad sandwich again, and was very happy with it. I couldn't resist adding a slice of their cherry cheesecake, as well. It was really creamy, and light on the sugar. The cherry topping was so good with the cheesecake, I just wish there was more topping! Checked out the decor while waiting for our food, and saw they sell fresh bread and bagels. You can even ask for a half loaf and have them slice it for you! (If they had a location near my house, I'd definitely be stopping by regularly for their bread!). Overall, loved the place. read more

Kept seeing reviews about how good this place was. It definitely was not!!! First time here and for the price I expected so much more. I got the number 69 and the chicken had a very off putting flavor. The bread was very oily from where they grilled it! My husband got the number 31, nothing "hot " about the sandwich, Cole slaw tasted like straight mayo, and the Russian dressing had zero flavor. Just picked up our sandwiches as we were in the area and love the katzingers in German village but we are so disappointed in our 2 sandwiches. My husband got #76 and can barely bite through it the bread is so hard it's almost impossible. My sandwich was lacking in meat. For the price of the sandwich I expect a thick sandwich but what I got was lacking. My bread was also on the older side. The restaurant was also empty. I went to Katzingers today for a sandwich at lunch. The food was good but it took a long time to get it. I saw three people standing around talking while a tall man wearing hearing aids was working. I wanted to say something but I wasn't sure if he could hear me. By the time I got my sandwich it was cold. Unfortunately this is not the first time I've seen this here: people standing around talking while only one person is working. If you've not been here, you order food at a counter and then wait at your table to be served. They also have a small market. At this point not sure I would recommend this place. read more

I've lived in Columbus for the majority of my life and this was my first trip to katzingers. And honestly I was disappointed. I got the #9 cause I'm a pastrami girl and I got the smaller size which basically equated to me making a sandwich at home? I thought the pastrami would be at least the chunky thick cut & flavorful kind. Nope was still pretty thin like any kind you'd get from the grocery store. And the rye bread was nothing to write home about. Neither was the mac salad. It wasn't dry which was nice but it didn't have really any flavor. Is it possible that I have found the best Reuben sandwich I have ever had! A resouding YES! Perfectly toasted rye bread with hot corned beef, Swiss cheese, house made Russian dressing and of course, sauerkraut! The crispiness of the toasted rye bread continued throughout every bite and was accompanied with layers of flavor! The corned beef was very flavorful and had the perfect amount of kraut. The house made dressing was full of flavor as well. My wife had the tuna and I tried one bite of it -- equally as delicious of a sandwich. It would be great even as a hot tuna melt (which is also available) Be sure and check out the pickle barrels where you can chose from whole dill or garlic dill pickles. I was hankering for a sandwich and got recommended this place. On first impression, you walk into an area that looks like a regular deli counter. Then you look up at the menu and there are so many options, it's almost overwhelming. They are all organized by which meat is running the show on the sandwich, which I liked. Along with sandwiches, you can order sliced meat as well as traditional Jewish food. One thing I couldn't find on the menu was the difference between their sizes. I asked and one is a quarter pound and the other half pound of meat. The sandwiches are pretty expensive at $18 per sandwich with no sides. Once you order, you head back to the dining area and the area where they make the real sandwiches. In front are two barrels will self-serve pickles. I have mixed feelings about it because I like unlimited pickles but also it is an open container sitting out all day, which is a little unsanitary. The area was clean but at least half of the tables were out of napkins and I had to jump from table to table looking for some. The employees were nice but some were standing around and could've replenished the napkins. I ordered the upper Ruben that was featured on Food Network and it was pretty fantastic. This was hands down the BEST corned beef sandwich I have ever had! I ordered the #21 Genes Free Lunch. It has corned beef, roast beef, coleslaw and Swiss cheese. I got it on gluten free bread and had it grilled. The bread held up well and it was piled with meat. A very filling sandwich for sure! Having grown up with Lou & Hy's in Akron and Slyman's in Cleveland, and many trips to NY & Chicago, we have experience to compare. We ordered 2 deli size sandwiches hoping to take leftovers home for later. Unfortunately it was all very thick, very dry bread and hardly any meat. I can't imagine what the regular looked like if these were supposed to be the larger ones. I love a good deli potato salad and my first bite into it was crunchy uncooked potatoes. Couldn't even eat it. The flavor was great and I'm sure it would have been awesome if the potatoes were cooked. We did get some "Ruggies" for the road to go with our Starbucks and those were pretty good. There were so many St. Patty Day special and I just went and try a Ruben Sandwich from Katzinger's. As you enter, you will see a fully stocked deli counter. Their option for deli sandwich is quite extensive. Highly recommend to study the menu before going. After ordering from the counter, just walk over to the dinning room and the staff will bring your food to the table. As you are waiting, there is also two huge bucket of pickle that you can self serve. I got a bowl of homemade chicken broth with noodles and the Ruben Steve's Cross Currents. I do like their light and subtle chicken broth, plus near 1-1 ratio on the noodles. As for the Ruben Steve's Cross Currents, I love the mix of the ingredients. The chopped chicken liver add an extra layer of creaminess and the super refreshing and crunchy coleslaw. For personal tasting, I think it can use a bit more seasoning to bring out the flavor from each parts. read more

I love the food at Katzinger's and go there frequently. However, the service has never been great. I went to pick up lunch today and it was not busy AT ALL. There was a man behind the order counter as I was waiting to place my order, but he said nothing to me and was just slicing cheese. I waited probably 5 minutes until someone came to the order counter to help me and she was frantic. She was interrupting me while I was placing my order too (which is probably why my order ended up getting messed up in the end). I am pregnant and getting over an illness. All I needed was a quart of matzo ball soup. Once I got home with my order, I saw they gave me soup with noodles and NO MATZO BALLS AT ALL. This is not the first time they have messed up my order. If they could practice some patience while I am placing my order maybe this would stop happening. read more

I ate half the sandwich, but I mentioned to the nice young lady working the register. She apologized and gave me a refund on that sandwich. It will be a while before I return. I somehow had no idea this was here. It's been a while since I've been to the one in German Village, and I needed a quick lunch, so I stopped in. Not huge, but it's big enough, and very cozy and warm inside. You order at the counter, and they bring your food out. Loads of different sandwiches. I got the belly buster, which is pastrami, coleslaw, etc. I got a large, and while it was pretty big and fairly good, it seems a little overpriced. But then that's my complaint about Katzinger's in general: It's good, not great, but priced as if it were great. Still, a good sandwich, and it's a Columbus institution that has been around for years, so I don't want to bash them too much. And of course there was the knish. Perfect. Thin pastry around a mix of hot mashed potatoes and soft onions. Heaven. I also got a bagel to go for later. Everything bagel, a bit hard from being old or overcooked, with good scallion cream cheese. Don't forget to get some pickles from the barrels. Loved the garlic, the dill was mushy. The total bill actually wasn't too bad: $25 for a lot of food. The service was minimal but excellent. The whole experience was good. There are loads of other things on the menu I'd like to try. I ordered the Bill, Gary, & Beufort Upper Yeogh Reuben with coleslaw (choice of slaw or sauerkraut) on pumpernickel. It's warm/toasted, creamy, smoky and super delicious. I would highly recommend it!!! My husband ordered the Ka & Shoggy deli size. It was stacked full of Turkey, corned beef, & slaw. Served cold. A massive sandwich! (Names of sandwiches may be misspelled/slightly off.) I also ordered a side of Greek salad, which was decent. Nothing to write home about. Could use a little more vinegar or some. We've been to their downtown location many times and have been very happy. So having all those high quality experiences I had some high expectations. I was not disappointed. The Dublin location has the same great vibe and atmosphere. This location was larger, spacious and there was plenty of room inside with additional patio seating. I love the eclectic decor multiple pictures and knick knacks, cook books etc. There was music playing which added to the relaxed old school atmosphere. We were sad that they weren't able to fill the pickle barrels. I had the classic Reuben and a dill pickle so rest assured I got my pickle fix. The service was friendly, we had to wait but it wasn't too bad. The employees wore gloves and masks. We took our sandwiches to go and went to a park and had a picnic date. read more

I ordered deliver and I'm so stoked they're in Dublin now! I ordered a corned beef sandwich, garlic pickle, koogle and challah bread. I absolutely love their food from the north market location and it's just as tasty at their Dublin location. I inhaled the food in about 8 minutes ha! You can choose what type of break you want your sandwich on and of course I chose challah! The sandwich is stuffed with corned beef, and is juicy, tasty, gooey, and falls apart in your mouth; exactly how it should be. The garlic pickle is very juicy and tasty. It's a pickle, not much to say. The koogle is just absolutely delicious! I got the apricot filling, but they're all wonderful! The Pastry itself is perfect and filling is nice. Now let's get to the challah! I thought I ordered 2 pieces of challah for $4, when it arrived, it was an entire loaf!!!! And entire loaf for $4?!?! I'm shocked, stunned and thankful! They have the best challah around and I'll be enjoying this all week. I wanted two pieces to celebrate my deceased grandmothers birthday tomorrow morning, but this is just wonderful. Last night I ordered dinner via UBER EATS from Katzinger's Dublin, this was without a doubt the worst excuse for Kosher Style food I have ever eaten. I ordered The Matzo Ball Soup, a Knish, Dr Browns Cel-Rey soda and a Ruben Sandwich. The soup had NO TASTE! It was bland and had no seasoning (not even salt) and the matzo balls were as tasteless and had the consistency of paste. The knish was a puffed pastry wrapped around a scoop of tasteless mashed potato. The Ruben looked awesome when I unwrapped it until I looked at the corned beef. Last I checked corned beef should not be GREY! I don't think it was spoiled, but it was awful. I thank goodness the restaurant couldn't mess with the soda. I don't like giving bad reviews in todays business world, but this place deserves it. If you feel the need for a Kosher style meal, go to Taco Bell rather than Katzinger's Dublin! read more

Made a visit here with some coworkers for lunch and frankly was disappointed. This could have been due to the incredible hype around Katzinger's, however after my experience I'm not going to be recommending this place to individuals visiting the area. For context, I've been to numerous Jewish delis outside Columbus and this probably ranks at the bottom of all of them. Unlike the other Katzinger's location, this deli only offers table service if you want to sit down to eat. We were greeted by a member of the staff and then were seated at a spacious table. There were many individual tables in the restaurant and then a few communal tables that could be shared by several small parties or one really large group. The space was well decorated but nothing super memorable. In terms of the food, I ordered a regular Katzinger's Ruben which was $12.95 (not including tax). The sandwiches come in two sizes- a regular size and a deli size ($15.95). The regular size is a quarter pound and the deli size is a half pound. I was quite disappointed in the size of the sandwiches in comparison to the cost. Another member of our party ordered a deli sized version of his sandwich and it didn't look that much larger than the regular versions. My Ruben was served on a decent piece of rye, however when they toasted the rye, they used so much oil that it pretty much ruined the bread from a textual aspect. The sandwich overall wasn't anything mentionable. For $12.95 you have a lot of better lunch options in the Dublin area. They also have a self service pickle bar where they have regular and garlic pickles for you to choose from. The regular pickles were pretty good but I would stay away from the garlic ones. The garlic pickles tasted like someone threw garlic powder in a barrel of pickles and just gave it a stir. Overall, don't think I'll be returning. read more
