One of the worst experiences I've ever had. I drove there at 2AM hoping for a tasty late night meal. Called 15 minutes ahead of time and ordered a #1, half pastrami half corned beef, with swiss cheese on french bread. When we arrived, we noticed that the sandwich was rung up as a #2, which has sauerkraut instead of cole slaw. We asked the cashier whether the sandwich had cole slaw and were told it did. Went outside in the 40 degree cold to sit down and eat our sandwiches. No cole slaw on the sandwich, sauerkraut instead. I took the sandwich back and asked for them to remake it properly. After waiting another 10 minutes or so I was presented with the correct sandwich, except now the swiss cheese was missing. The sandwich itself was pretty trash - I wouldn't have been thrilled if I received what I got after ordering one from a chain grocery store. There also was no trash can outside to throw away our trash. Huge waste of time and money, this place sucks. read more

Katz's Deli has been serving Houston their New York style Delicatessen food for nearly 25 years. The original opened on Westheimer near Montrose back in 1998 and now West Houston/Galleria area Houstonians are getting one in their backyard. If you're a fan of sky high piles of corned beef, pastrami on rye, kosher pickles, lox and bagels, and so forth, this is definitely worth a visit. Beyond the traditional, there's a huge full menu to peruse including breakfast, burgers, hot plates, dessert and more. As far as drinks go, they offer a full bar, cocktails, beer and wine, plus the usual soft drinks and whatnot. My favorite thing about katz's is that they're 24 hours. Like their commercial is so famous for saying, "Katz's never closes!". It's also worth noting that they have a very well lit private parking lot, so even late night visits on that sketchy neck of Westheimer will feel fine. Service has always been tip top. They're quick with the food, and I've never had a long wait for a drink order, or otherwise. Overall, katz's is well worth a visit to check out the traditional deli food, and they're even better at about 3am, when there's nothing but fast food and Katz's to choose from. The good: Beautiful location with spacious outdoor patio for the kids to run play and adults to catch up on sports via the TVs. Customer service was warm and friendly and the food arrived promptly. Plenty of reasonably priced kids meals with many options for sides and drinks. The bad: Food was just not good. Sweet potato fries came out cold, chicken hero had chicken that tasted like rubber and bread that was clearly frozen heated and then soggy. Prices for food are ridiculously expensive ($18 - for what they say is a "medium" sandwich($4 more for a medium portion) was actually an average portion). The waitress didn't seem to want to wait on our table, we couldn't get water refills or ketchup. My daughter did get 1 refill. She ordered sweet tea and on her 1 refill they gave her regular ice tea with a small cup of simple syrup on the side so she could make her own sweet tea. Interesting they didn't do this on the first order though. Maybe they expected me to walk back to the kitchen and grab my own ketchup out of the fridge for my fries as well. The "chicken cutlets" looked like something you would expect to get in the middle school cafeteria, or like some one robbed a McChicken. Went here for the first time and was a bit disappointed. The server was very friendly, but the service overall was lacking. I ordered chilaquiles with fajita added on top. When the food arrived, there was no fajita. No problem, but the server insisted to remake the entire plate as the chips would be soggy by the time the steak was cooked. (Her words.) So I waited for my new plate. When she brought it back to me it was the exact same plate but now with fajita on it. (I knew because I had already poured cholula on all over the plate before she took it back and it was all still there.) The chips are in fact soggy now. I didn't speak up because my friends were almost done eating as I'm just now getting my food. In addition, I was there around 6am before work and they were mopping around my table. I know they have to mop at some point but there were only 2 tables of people in the entire place and they could've mopped across the restaurant. The strong smell of fabulosa wasn't too pleasurable. Katz Never Kloses but maybe they should! It was our first (and last) visit to a Katz's. The atmosphere was nice, parking was easy and we got seated immediately as it was a weeknight. We waited forever for a server, as the hostess said they were short staffed. The chicken soup was quite good but it was downhill from there as we ordered a corned beef on rye with cheese and we got a Reuben. We were too hungry and waited too long to send it back. As many have already noted, the restaurant is shiny and new and actually a nice atmosphere with plenty of parking. I went at 1 a.m. and service was a little slow, but it was nice having a late-night place to eat that wasn't IHOP. We found the food to be decent but nothing to make us want to rush back. Katz is my friends and I go to restaurant after a night out. The wait is always a bit long (maybe 20-30 minutes) but the environment is worth it! Everyone is so sweet and friendly and the drinks are yummy. There's happy hour and breakfast served no matter the time of day. Definitely stop by if you see it! read more

This is a beautiful location. The area was being secure by HPD, which is definitely appreciative taken into account the area. The inside was beautiful, and very clean. The customer service was wonderful. The hostess greeted us with a smile and complements, we then went and sat at the bar. A young lady, by the name of the was at the bar. She was very well knowledged, and gave us also suggestions as to what her favorite items were on the menu. She was very sweet and attentive, and always would check up on us. Now for the food, it was actually pretty good. I'm not much of a meat eater, but the Sandwich, she suggested was very flavorful and large. I couldn't even finish it all. I had a side of steak fries, which were very hot and tasty. My man had a breakfast plate, which he actually ended up finishing everything lol all our food was very very very hot and enjoyable. Our server was Ali and requested for water with lemon and he said they are out, but then I saw that he served 3 different tables water with lemons. I feel I got discriminated. Ordered the skinny version of their pride...the corn beef sandwich. There was very little meat and way too much coleslaw and dressing. The 3 slices of meat were so dry and flavorless that the dressing couldn't cover the terrible meat. It also looked like it was cut/sliced earlier instead of when you order it. By the way you do NOT get chips or fries with the sandwiches. You have to pay $2.99 for about 8 chips. Paid almost $21 for the sandwich, chips and water plus tip and still left hungry. I went 02/08/23. My 3 year old is allergic to tomatoes. I told them no tomatoes because my son Is allergic. Made an order on Yelp/GrubHub for two orders of street tacos and two beverages. Took 10 minutes to arrive at the pick up window. When we arrived they asked what the name for the order was and we gave them the name. A minute later they just shoved the food and one beverage at us and closed the window. They had forgotten to hand us the watermelon beverage so we kept calling out but no one answered, so my husband decided to go through the front to go ask for his missing beverage.
