I was shocked the prices weren't as crazy as I thought they would be for gourmet nuts. They let you try whatever flavors you want, and I thought most of them were very good. My guy even bought some for his mom as a present. The almond butter was to die for in my opinion. Staff was incredibly friendly and didn't push us to buy anything even while we were taste-testing. This store is very dangerous, but in the best way! Fantastic place to buy a souvenir for yourself or a gift for someone else.

Just wanted to see what was so Gourmet about some nuts. 1st of the place is very clean and orderly. The young lady that was helping me out was very attentive, patient, and informative. The Gourmet nuts were wonderful. A nice variety. They also had almond butter and honey. I will definitely recommend this to anyone who have free ti.e to spare. Even if you don't have free time, I highly recommend that you carve out 10-15 minutes. You won't regret it.

Best two in the whole shop!

Best nuts I have ever had! I am not one to just walk into a nut store, especially since I live in Hawaii and can get nuts anywhere including the grocery store or costco for cheap. But I walked into this cute little botique nut shop while my friend was getting ice cream a few doors down and I am so glad I stopped in! Kimmy was working and she was great at explaining the process behind how they make the nuts and where they sell them, along with all of the different flavors they have. She listened to my recommendations on what kind of flavors of nuts I usually like, and then popped out 5-8 different free samples for me to try. Now these are not your average nuts...these were coated in amazing, delicious flavoring that I have never ever had before. I normally leave places after a few samples but I had to get a few bags to take home and share with friends. I ended up with the toffee crisp and salted toffee. They were gone before I made it back to Oahu a few days later, but my friend and I absolutely loved them! They were about the same price as other high end brands of nuts, so I didn't find it too crazy of a price for such a delicious product. I cant wait to go back and get these again! They only sell them at a store in Koloa and Ka'paa....so thats the only downfall, but also if they had them anywhere else I would turn into a nut because it would be all that I would eat! Even if you don't plan on trying a bag, you have to stop in and watch them through the process of making the nuts (you can see them making it during the day) and at least try a few samples! Thanks so much for your recomendations Kimmy!

The folks were super welcoming and we tasted a lot of samples and bought several bags of macadamia nuts.

Come early, leave full…read more After many friends recommended Puka dogs, we couldn't wait to come here! We arrived around 1 to get in line, and waited about 45 minutes. Luckily the line was shaded so it wasn't terrible. We finally got our turn to go inside and wait in line. The ambiance was super welcoming and relaxing. When we got to the front of the line, we ordered 3 hot dogs to share between the 2 of us (definitely could have just had 2) and each got a lemonade. The lemonade was tasty and refreshing and the Puka dogs were AMAZING. We got the mild, spicy and lava spice level sauces. Honestly the lava spice wasn't super spicy, the server described it as hot Cheetos. The different relish's were amazing. I loved the coconut and pineapple best. If I lived here I'd be in trouble because I'd come back many times!

Puka Dog is one of those "only in Hawaii" experiences that you simply have to try!…read moreYes, it's more expensive than a regular hot dog (around $12), but this is so much more than just grabbing lunch--it's part of the Kauai experience. The concept is unique and fun. Instead of a traditional bun, the bread is toasted from the inside, creating a warm pocket that is filled with your choice of tropical fruit relish, Hawaiian-style mustard, and sauces before the sausage is inserted. We chose the Polish sausage, and it was delicious--juicy, flavorful, and paired perfectly with the sweet and savory toppings. They also make an excellent fresh lemonade, which was the perfect complement on a warm Kauai morning. Inside, you'll also find coffee, banana bread, and a selection of other drinks and snacks. We arrived around 10:30 a.m., and the line was very manageable. I'm sure it gets much longer around lunchtime, but the staff has the process down to a science. Everything moves quickly, and it's obvious they're very efficient. Is it a gourmet meal? No. Is it a fun, uniquely Kauai experience that's worth trying at least once? Absolutely! If you're visiting Poʻipū Beach, don't miss Puka Dog. It's a fun local tradition, the food is tasty, the service is fast, and it's one of those places you'll remember long after your vacation is over. Highly recommended!

We sat on the patio but they call the main dining room however it is outside. The host and the servers were very nice on both days helping us choose our dishes and beverages. The first night were shared the shrimp and unui (sp?) patties. They were tasty and slightly sweet but over-charred and the sauce served with them did not complement them very well. It needed a fresher sauce or something with a little kick The first night I Had the chicken Which is actually a tiny little bird I should've known from the name. - pouisson. It was well cooked, but there was very little meat on all of the bones. And also needed a sauce of some kind. The one baby bok choy was a nice addition. Two of the group had the fish and chips it was made with swordfish that night and was very tasty. However, the chips were slightly limp and not hot. No one wanted to return them, but they really were not very good. One of the other entrées was the veggie bowl with seared Aji tuna and it had quinoa at the bottom with lots of roasted beets and other vegetables. It was a very good dish. The second time I ordered the grilled seafood bowl because that night they were offering Oppa as the grilled fish on the kebabs/skewers that were served on top of the bowl the seafood was cooked, absolutely perfectly, and it had pickled cucumbers, pickled red onions, slightly cooked carrots, and then regular cucumbers on top of lightly dressed soba noodles. It was a very tasty and hearty bowl. We also ordered a kale, beet and blue cheese salad for the table, but what came out was their strange version of Caesar salad, which has chickpeas on it which of course we did not want. It took them quite a while to bring the kale and beet salad to the table, however when they did, it was quite tasty a combination I would not have thought of on my own The first night we ordered the passionfruit cheesecake which had a strange chocolate crust that was too thick and a very light topping of passionfruit. It was fine, but we would not order it again. The whole restaurant is a nice change from all of the really overpriced offerings in the area. The food is fresh and tasty and the service is professional and fun at the same time.

Parking can be street side or there is a larger lot in the back. The nice thing about ordering is that there is a full-size menu, kids menu and half portion menu (no worries about leftovers). We split a number 4 and all the drinks are canned or bottles. There are a few indoor seating spots that open to the open air covered seating. Chickens will wander in to beg of course. Good was nice with pork and pineapple. They will ask if you want sweet (very sweet) sauce or sweet and spicy. I notice if you pause they will always offer both, we received both. Our side was the onion and cucumber and it came with rice. Fresh made food and was great. This was perfect, as we were in a hurry and on the go. Restrooms are shared with the shops a few doors away. Good place for a quick local bite. Great local food.
