Update from my review many years ago. My wife and I first went to Porky's when they were a food truck during our honeymoon 11+ years ago. Glad to see that the owner's dream of opening up a local restaurant came true. Food was just as delicious as we remembered if not better. Would recommend for those who enjoy pork products. Quick service is the feature of this location. They serve fast local food at an old town area shopping mall. It is a great location to explore with two floors of shops. Parking can be street side or there is a larger lot in the back. The nice thing about ordering is that there is a full-size menu, kids menu and half portion menu (no worries about leftovers). We split a number 4 and all the drinks are canned or bottles. There are a few indoor seating spots that open to the open air covered seating. Chickens will wander in to beg of course. Good was nice with pork and pineapple. They will ask if you want sweet (very sweet) sauce or sweet and spicy. I notice if you pause they will always offer both, we received both. Our side was the onion and cucumber and it came with rice. Fresh made food and was great. This was perfect, as we were in a hurry and on the go. Restrooms are shared with the shops a few doors away. Ok I'm not going to lie, I underestimated how much I was gonna love this sandwich. This is essentially a kalua pulled pork grilled cheese with pineapple. It is so good, yall. SO GOOD. I put the spicy bbq sauce on it and loved every single bite. The Mac salad is so good too. Some of the best I had on island. They're in a shopping center in the center of Koloa, so just park anywhere in Koloa and walk on over. They have casual covered seating in front. I want to give this place its flowers cuz man this place broke da mouth!! So ono, and I'd definitely come back again! Got the #3 sandwich and it was amazing! It's basically the perfect combination of kalua pork in a grilled cheese sandwich. And whatever sauces and extra ingredients they use just adds so much flavor and helps bring out the smokiness and savoryness (if that's even a word lol) of the pork and cheese. I did not expect to have the best kalua pork out of a smol place called Porkys, but maybe that's my fault. Girlfriend and I shared the Number Three and while the sammich was definitely filling and very satisfying, the glutton at heart definitely wished I had a whole one to myself. The pork was so tender, and even more flavorful. The cheese blend was tasty and worked extremely well with the pork, and the bread did a fantastic job soaking up all the flavors. The one thing I will say is that the sweet porkys sauce is definitely too sweet, and for me, it was completely unnecessary. Only dipped a finger to taste it but it definitely would've worstened the sammich had we used it. Sammich came with a side, none of which we cared for at the time, so we went with rice. Rice was nothing special. The staff was very friendly and answered all our questions. Can't really ask for too much more than that. We were browsing around old Koloa Town and found this spot. We ordered a #1 (pork hot dog), #3 (pork sandwich) and #4 (pulled pork plate). First of all, I appreciate the simple menu and that all come with a side and a drink. My favorite was the sandwich. It was crispy and delicious. The sauces are given on the side so you can dip the sandwich right in. The hot dog was also very good and the pineapple on the pork just works. The rice is very coconuty so I devoured that in no time. The cucumber side is mostly onions but they were pickled, crunchy, and really tasty. A million times, yes you should come here! Staff is friendly, plenty of seating, and it's tasty! My guy and I split the Number Three and it was the best kalua pork we had the entire trip. The sammich was very filling and we enjoyed every bite of it. While the sammich was mouthwatering and is a 5/5 for me, the rest of the dish has me bringing the rating down to a 4: - the rice was lukewarm and didn't add anything to the dish - the sauce was also too sweet, so we didn't use it - it's pricey. Loved eating all the poke daily, but fitting in a hot savory grilled cheese meal just provided a different kind of good eatin! Noted the 2 hot dog joints before the trip, porkys and the one by the beach which seemed popular. But I just couldn't consider eating a hot dog in Kauai, no matter how good it may be, so I chose porkys solely for the grilled cheese:) Both sauces were good, but if getting just one, the sweet & spicy sauce is the way to go to dip extra flavor punch to your sando. Well,well... the sandwiches are excellent! I had the one with pulled pork and havarti cheese with dropped pineapple and a side of macaroni salad: de-effing-licious!!!! It was flavorful, packed with pulled pork so yummy, the cheese just how I like it: melting and every bite a delight. Service is order at the counter and pick it up, the kitchen is open behind the counter so you can see what is being prepared. We sat outside on a high table so we could look out, people watching and enjoying the chill vibe. Will likely stop by again on another visit to Koloa. No alcohol available - no biggie - so had a Sprite and my companion a Guava juice. He had a pork dog with a side of macaroni salad (copycat ) and the spicy-sweet sauce. As some of you know I am deadly allergic to chili so couldn't taste his hot dog but it looked very inviting. The marketplace has some lovely stores, a fresh market, juice bar, and a couple other eateries that opened later in the day. It's not a huge place but nice for a stroll around and maybe have a shave ice at Mango's or a coffee at Ali'i Coffee. Came here on Monday 1:30 pm ordered 3 hotdogs, there was only two group total of 5 hotdogs orders in front of me. I end up waited over 30 mins to get my food, it's quit a wait consider the restaurant wasn't busy at all. You wouldn't think that Porkys was groundbreaking by just reading their menu options, but man, it may just be among the best sandwiches I've ever had. Yes, it's a lot of pork. A pork sausage with a nice heap of kalua pork on top. The Kalua pork is amazing; bursting with flavor and it combines perfectly with the fresh pineapple. I think the cheesy hoagie roll may be the perfect compliment to it all though, as I loved the crispy toasted cheese with every bite. It's a cute little restaurant with a fair amount of seating.
