Took a sunset cruise last night up the Na Pali coast with my husband for our honeymoon and it made our whole trip!! Captain Kauai was AMAZING, he taught us so much about not only just the island but his knowledge of the whales was just awesome. He made the whole cruise laugh the entire time. You can tell he truly takes pride in what he does providing an experience and not just a tour. The crew Julie, Kai and Mana were also so kind and accommodating we couldn't have asked for a better experience!! Kauai Sea Tours...what a great company. I had originally booked for a 1/2 day raft tour to the Napali Coast, but Kauai Sea Tours upgraded us to the 1/2 day with the beach. Jordan and Captain Kevin were awesome, We had such a great time. Jordan was super personable and definitely took very good care of us. I loved his passion for his Hawaiian heritage and that he was able to share that heritage with us. Captain Kevin is a first class Captain. He's definitely an expert at handling those waves. The Napali Coast was breathtaking...it's one of those places that you wish you could just keep hitting the rewind button to see. And the caves...amazing beyond belief. Had a great time on the sunset cruise. I was there with my parents (in their late 50s), my sister and my brother-in-law. We all enjoyed it, but it did feel a little long to my parents who said their backs hurt after a while. The ride up was pretty bumpy and not my favorite. Snorkeling was pretty disappointing as there was hardly anything to see. We've snorkeled in Poipu the day before and saw amazing things and everything was real colorful, but snorkeling on the cruise was really not great. Seeing the beauty of the Na Pali coast was amazing. We loved the lush colors and just about everything we saw. The food on the cruise was fine, nothing special. The crew was awesome. They constantly asked if anyone needed anything and brought up drinks so we didn't have to go down. Our captain was Jeff who was great and fun. read more

One of the best Hawaiian excursions I've ever been on. We did the raft option that took us into the caves. The Napoli Coast is spectacular! I live on North Shore Oahu, have spent a ton of time in zodiacs and on the ocean. Let me tell you, I KNOW ZODIACS. This was hands down the most professional, informative, and incredible tour I've ever done. My guides were Phil and Rayden. Off the bat, it felt like meeting up with old friends. They greeted us with a huge smile and hearty handshake. They were incredibly professional and accommodating. This really must be the "A crew". Dolphins, fish, sea turtles... OH MY! We stopped whenever we saw these majestic dinosaurs of the sea. Which was A LOT. I was starting to think Phil knows all the secret spots. I don't even want to hit on the views. Slap me in the face and call me Bilbo Baggins, because I'm pretty sure Phil was taking us to Mordor to destroy the One Ring. Lastly, I want to hit the music. Phil has the ULTIMATE PLAYLIST. Went on the Na Pali Coast Sunset Dinner cruise last Sunday. The trip was "GREAT" The crew went above and beyond for service and Capt.Tom put the boat along the cliffs that I thought could not be done as well as turning around to find spinner dolphins and put us in great locations for cliff and sunset picture taking. The food was very good and the drinks were non stop. The boat was very comfortable due to the fact that they do not overload it and you are not elbow to elbow with other guests. We took the Na Pali coast catamaran with Kauai as our captain. It was choppy, wet, and a wild ride! We loved every minute of it. The crew was great, the boat was comfortable with lots of options for seating, and the food worked out just fine. I would recommend this tour to anyone that I know planning on going to Kauai. The most important thing to know is that you cannot control the weather, so only book this tour if you can go with the flow! read more

Capt. Jake and Nono were so awesome! The ride was AWESOME out to our destination, but a bit rough on our way back in, but the crew prepped us very well, so no surprises. Lots of spinner dolphins and just a really fun bunch on our zodiak snorkel tour. Na'pali was so amazing, loved the crews' stories, especially Nono's local tour of a part of the isl. Wished for more snorkeling time (only given about 30 minutes), and a better location (too shallow/right on top of the reef). We really enjoyed the sights, exciting ride, caves and company. Do this for a super fun afternoon! Bring your sense of humor and sunscreen and apply often! :) read more

We had an incredible time on the snorkeling boat tour! Me and my wife booked this tour for our first full day on the island for our honeymoon and it was the best introduction to Kauai anyone could hope for! Skye and Collin were our captains and they were both funny and knowledgeable of the islands history. The weather was near perfect giving us excellent visibility for snorkeling giving us great views of sea turtles, reefs, and local fish. Being on the inflatable gave us the opportunity to enter caves and other areas the catamarans could only dream of getting into. With there only being a few ways to see the Na Pali coast, I believe Kauai Sea Tours is the best way to go. read more

What an amazing day! We did the beach landing tour on the raft with Jamie and Shawn and couldn't even imagine how much fun it would be! Both were warm, friendly, fun and most importantly, passionate about sharing the history of their culture. We got a full safety briefing, then took off up the coast to Napali. The coast is breathtaking - and to hear all the stories of the island just made it better! The advantage of the raft is that they will take you into the sea caves - which is super awesome. Then back to Nualolo Kai for snorkeling, lunch, and a short walk to talk about the history of the area. Shawn and Jamie made the day. Their attention to every little detail showed - giving us tips to deal with sea sickness, helping position the boat for great pictures, and taking care that all were safe and having fun was fantastic. Sean and Jamie are lots of fun, so knowledgeable, and clearly love their work. This is a physical workout-lots of hanging on at all times since the raft is small and the waves can be big. I always felt safe though. I am prone to motion sickness on planes but I had no issues since it was in open air. We visited 3 caves, got one dip in the ocean, and one 30 minute snorkel. Amazing day. Captain Greg and Colin were so much fun! We had a blast on the Napali Coast beach landing your. In one morning, we saw Sea Turtles, Dolphins, Monk Seals, and lots of vibrant fish! We went inside of caves and saw the breathtaking Napali Coast. Colin was obviously very passionate about Kauai and Captain Greg was cool, relaxed and skilled behind the wheel. My wife and I were on our honeymoon and we decided to do a snorkeling excursion. There are a ton of tours and trips to choose from out there. We came across the ocean rafting adventure through Kauai Sea Tours. We were not disappointed. Overall a wonderfully awesome experience! Online booking was a snap. We showed up at our check in time. They provided each group with a 53L waterproof stack to shove your stuff in for the day. Our skipper, Captain John was awesome. Very knowledgeable. Very informative. It was very apparent he knew what he was doing. He said he's done +4,000 trips up and down the Na Pali coastline (75miles each way)...I'll let you do the math. He knew the waters, the weather, the waves, the sea life, the "spots", the history of the land like the back of his hand. His first mate, JR, was amazing too. The two worked very well together. Completely in sync. We saw dolphins, turtles, tons of reef fish, a school of flying fish, and a brief glimpse of a huge manta ray. We were lucky with the weather and seas. Only 8-10 ft swells on the west side (small per Captain John's account). He told us he has been out there in 25ft swells. A few things: you will get soaked. You would not be looking at this trip if you didn't already know that. It's a bumpy ride. Be prepared for BIG surf. Nothing 600mg ibuprofen and a few pints at the Kauai Brewing Company across the street can't handle after the fact. Wear sunscreen. Lots. Hats you will lose going at 30-40 knots. (These little rafts fly on the water). Bring a long sleeve sun shirt. It can be chilly soaked to the bone and flying at high speeds. The snorkel gear they have provided for you is cheap stuff (but it works). If you want fancy stuff, rent beforehand. Especially if you need Rx lenses or something. The tour was amazing!!! My friend and I went on the Snorkel and Rafting Adventure, and it really was an unforgettable trip! Make sure you know what you're getting yourself into because it is quite the wild ride. If you're up for some thrills and have a positive attitude (and no bad back), this tour is for you! The boat was like a zodiac raft, and we all sat on the edge of the raft and hung onto the ropes so we wouldn't fall off! (But, they said they've never had anyone fall out before). Luckily the waters were pretty calm most of the time; at some points we were really bouncing on the waves which made it exciting and made you grip the ropes pretty tightly! It was like a roller coaster ride. My back was a little sore by the end of the tour but it was a small price to pay for a fantastic day. We went into three different sea caves which were super cool. In one of them, the ceiling had caved in many years ago, revealing a bright blue sky above us. It was so beautiful, I could barely believe it was real. Larger boats can't go into the sea caves, so be sure to choose the adventure tour if you want to see those. We saw just about all the wildlife you could see in the ocean (except for sharks), and the crew was sure to be safe and respectful when near the animals. We floated near a beautiful large turtle and cruised with a pod of about 70 spinner dolphins who put on a show for us! Even though it was the end of whale season, we also saw a mother whale teaching her newborn baby how to dive down into the water. We even saw 3 monk seals, and it's rare to even see one swimming in open water. The ocean has so many wonders! We also got to hop out of the boat a couple times and got to snorkel at the end. The water was so blue, clear, and refreshing! I get seasick easily, so I was expecting to get a little queasy. Even though I took Dramamine and ate ginger beforehand, I did throw up midway through the tour. But it wasn't a big deal (aim outside of the boat) and I STILL had a great time. Most of the ride you're going really fast and the wind is in your face so it's fine; it was only when we stopped that I would start feeling a little wobbly. Jordan and Shane were our crew members and they were the best tour guides ever!! I'm from O'ahu so I wasn't expecting to learn much on the tour but I was super impressed. Both born and raised on Kaua'i, they told us Hawaiian legends, explained the history of some of the villages that were located along the Na Pali coast, taught us about the rock and lava formations, knew a lot about the sea life, pointed out hikes to go on, and told us about life on Kaua'i so we could get a sense of what it's like to live there. They were also watching out for us to make sure we were safe and doing well. Shane gave me soda to help with the motion sickness. They told a lot of jokes and really wanted us to have the best tour we could. Shane took great pictures of us (see below)! They played great music like some favorites from Moana. Jordan was a great captain: he handled the boat expertly and tried his best to minimize our discomfort. He did some donuts for us at the end! So fun. Some tips: - Take dramamine beforehand! - Apply lots of sunscreen since you'll be in the sun for 5 hours. Especially your thighs & shoulders. Don't forget to reapply midway through the tour. - If you want to take lots of pics, bring a clear waterproof bag for your phone so you can take do so worry-free. (They do give you a large waterproof bag though) - It gets windy when the boat goes fast! Jordan said the boat can reach 80 mph. You might consider wearing a light jacket. Hats fly off easily so strap them on tight. Sunglasses are also good as long as you keep them on. - Wear a swimsuit with clothes over that are easy to take on and off. Think about bringing a towel even though you will dry in the sun. - Probably don't go in the winter months when the waves are huge. We went in March, but the waters are probably the calmest in the summer. - Be ready for a wild ride! read more

After a bunch of reviews and talking to our friends we picked a morning snorkel cruse with Kauai Sea Tours as our purchased fun thing to try while on Kauai. We were not disappointed at all! Greg, Howie, Kai and Collin worked very well as a team to making our day (and all of the passengers) a great experience. Greg was honest and fun with local information about the areas we were traveling through, Kai and Howie provided some local insights to the island and remembered our names and most of the other passengers as well, and Collin was busy all over the boat (sorry we did not get to chat much!) I enjoyed Greg's music selection and commentary along our route. The crew was personable and fun to be around. I watched them interact with most of the passengers and they made sure all were being taken care of. We saw turtles, dolphins, flying fish, sea monk lions and assorted other fish :some near and some from a far. Yes the south swell and prevailing winds caused some murkiness to the top layer of the water but all and all we had a great time. We had Captains Jake and Skye for our trip out to the Napali Coast. Highly recommend the Zodiac military-grade raft trip that allows you not just see the sea caves but go into them. Got a bit of adrenaline going! Thankfully we got great weather and once we arrived at the splendid north coast we stopped for a snorkel where I got to see my first sea turtle hanging out at surface until he made a deep dive. We were glad we brought our own short wetsuits - no one else had brought them but I think it's part of why we were able to stay in the water a little longer. Ample drinks & lunch provided. Don't do this (inflatable) trip if you have a bad back: you have to sit in the same position on the boat for long stretches of time as it ploughs through the waves. read more

We were able to see plenty of wildlife including whales, manta rays, spinner dolphins and turtles. You get a little wet but it is worth it!!! We had a great day with Captain Sky and BJ out on the Zodiac raft. Seas were very calm that day and we booked it over to the NaPali coast with a few stops when we ran into pods of spinner dolphins and to follow a Humpback whale and learn how to spot them. Expertly navigated into the caves left by eroding lava tubes. Gave great detail of different canyons and history of the NaPali coastline. Finished up the day with a sighting of Humpback whale calf playing and breaching and a great snorkeling spot with tons of fish and good visibility. Fun times, thanks again! read more

To be honest I was scared out of my mind to take this raft tour but it was my husband's activity choice so I had to go along. Boy was I glad I did!!! Amazing scenery, exciting ride and fantastic staff made this trip something that even the timid, like myself, have fun! Captain NoNo and Manny were fantastic. Nono provided his own stories about growing up in the island, gave insightful details about the history of the island and helped to make it come alive. Sean was an amazing captain (minus the dad jokes) he was a really good driver and he knew a lot about the tide and the ride was just bumpy enough to get some good jumps in. Jamie was hilarious and she told our whole party all about the history of the beaches and the graves and historical ceremonies. Both of them knew all about the movies and videos filmed on the island and made sure to tell us about them, and they were specific about who has been where. The lunch was great and so was the view. It was awesome to walk around and hear about the beautiful culture. Definitely recommend!! read more

We booked the Sunset cruise on the catamaran. Worth every cent. Mai Tais on the way out and this is the only way to really see the coast up close. The crew and captain were very knowledgable, professional and helpful. Large boat and more than enough for the 40 passengers we were with. Admittedly the cruise was more than eventful with dolphins, turtles, sea caves and amazingly 2 hump back whales passing by. The captain spotted them, and instead of pointing them out and just keep going, he turned the boat round and followed them for at least 30 mins away from harbor. This is by far the best sea going tour you can do as a couple. read more

Easily the best part of my vacation... Don't go if you're expecting a calm ride...this is not for the faint of stomach! My husband and I both took dramamine before and had no problems. I think only 1 or 2 people even got sick at all. I feel if you pay over $100 per person you should take some precautions to not get sick. Crew was great, snorkeling was great, got REALLY wet at the front of the catamaran, but that was the plan, and they were informative regarding that anyways. Mai tais not so strong, but I asked the bartender to make it extra good and he did NOT disappoint :) I'm a water baby and I had an amazing time. Got there about 1pm didn't get back in the car until about 7:20 so it's for sure a long day. Life is good, read the fine print...LOTS of waves. :) Amazing. read more

This boat tour was one of the highlights of our honeymoon!!! We had the best adventure.... we saw whales, dolphins, sea turtles and flying fish, and the beautiful Na Pali Coast ! They served a continental breakfast, followed by lunch, snorkeling and some mai tai's afterwards :) The staff was so much fun and the boat had the right amount of shade and sun, depending on what you were in the mood for that day.
