Kava is an acquired taste. So I was so happy that her Kava Mango masked the sharp taste. But the brown color, like latte. is also surprising . The owner ( sorry forgot name) then mixed a drink called Kava Sunset. It was so pretty and tasted delicious. We came at %pm and sat outside in the cool shade. Lovely experience. The Wailua sugar Mill is a big place. So look for the yellow painted Silos to find this little place. read more

The past three years living in Hawai'i, I've always looked forward to seeing Ava at the nearby Kaka'ako Farmers Market and enjoying some of her fresh-made kava. She has such a warm personality and it's obvious from the first few seconds you interact with her that she cares not only about her amazing product, but also about the lives of her customers. I am beyond thrilled that she now has an amazing space in the Waialua silos for her kava bar! The ambiance is extremely welcoming and her menu includes a wide variety of kava blends and kava-tails to match whatever flavor you're craving. When I stopped in for a visit, I tried the Kava Sunset, which included pineapple, coconut, rose hips, hibiscus, and of course, kava! The taste was out of this world! You got that typical relaxed kava mouthfeel with the added tropical fruit complements that really made it stand out. The bar also puts on special events like open mic nights on certain days each month. Come for the kava, stay for the vibes! read more

I had never tried Kava before but my friend wanted to stop by as we randomly passed by on our road trip. The horchata Kava was sooooo good. The kava bar is in the back. Parking can be limited but this is a good place to chill and have a pleasant time. It's off the tourist path, but if you have a rental, stop by. I felt the peace here. You gotta make it to Kava Queen!! I'm not a fan of kava...but my husband is. The owner let me try a couple of her flavored options and she hit the nail on the head, pineapple was delicious...I went for the chocolate in the end. She is very knowledgeable and SO nice...like a breath of fresh air! The shop is really cute, they share space with Mele mele Bakery at the old sugar mill. Wow! Finally came in after one of my friends recently recommended their new spot in Wailua Old Sugar Mill location. Absolutely new Fave Kava Bar!! We had the 16oz Coconut Mango Kava drink. Met the owner's dad, Chris who was fantastic! He gave us all kinds of educational information about Kava. He informed us how the Old Wailua Sugar Mill businesses and community came together to create this cool hidden gem. Definitely worth the drive from town and will be back!! It is such a vibe here. We drove out from Waipahu area to Waialua after work. I loved the outdoor area in the back going up the deck. The mango coconut kava was awesome and sooooo good. We even got a kava shot before we left. Relaxing area! So relaxing I would want to lay in a hammock. My husband said they should be kid friendly since he personally messaged the IG page. All though I didn't want to bring them so we can have a night out without the kiddos after work! read more

First time here and it was the worst matcha latte I've ever had. It was basically milk with some matcha sprinkled in and for 7 bucks you might as well skip this place. Not sure if the workers were just having a bad day or something and that's why the drink was so bad. We also had a dirty chai and that was also made terribly. Another amazing afternoon hanging out with Ava & 'awa! She's such a beautiful person with amazing energy and lots of great information. The lounge is a perfect place to hang out away from the usual Northshore traffic with lots of parking, sitting area, handicap accessible, pet friendly, and an overall positive environment. Such a cool experience visiting the Kava Bar! Ava is so nice and knowledgeable about Kava. I love that it is pet friendly and spacious so I can bring my dogs to have some Kava with me. I live on the other side of the island but it's worth the drive! This is such an amazing spot in waialua! I feel like I'm always telling everyone around about it... kid friendly, amazing food, outdoor space even for pets.... And the best part is to hang with Ava who makes the kava. I've bought her cacao and mango soooo many times and it's incredible... almost making it a weekly thing. What a fun place! I love kava, so when I found this gem in Wailua, I knew I had to go. Their flavored kava was so yummy! They also sell at the Kaka'ako Farmers Market on Saturday mornings. I've been trying flavored powders and canned, but this was the delicious real deal. They are open W-Su from 4pm. Totally worth making a half circle island or full one if you have the time. The daily selection is one or two flavors, and it's a cute little casual backyard joint with open mike on Wednesday. They have other musicians come down and jam, too! Check it out! read more

Hidden gem. It was a bit hard to find the first time I went, but once I found it, I had a great time. Kava bars are known for their friendly welcoming environments. This bar, however, was especially friendly and welcoming. I ended up having a two hour conversation with the owner of the bar, her partner and her dad. Minus star for that. Anyway, at first we declined but my daughters actually ended up wanting some so we gave in. I ordered the taco salad with ground beef and my husband ordered the carne asada. There's tables for large groups and lots of bar counter for pairs. It's not too noisy either. Fun and relaxing, glad we came to try it :)
