I am so quickly reminded why i hate clubs and going out. Went for the drag show on Friday night, I was told there is a new theme every week. Upon arriving, it doesn't look like much, but once you get inside, it's huge. Nice bar selection, lots of lights, seemed pretty clean, very much so your average bar scene. The VIP section wasn't too bad. The gentleman bringing us drinks was amazing, and so friendly. Made sure we had mixers with our liquor and water at all times! As for the show, not too bad. It is what it is for Honolulu. I've seen better but I did enjoy my evening up until the end. Went to the bathroom, there were two unisex ones and they were trashed... my friend and I went in a group, like EVERYONE ELSE BEFORE US, and we weren't in there but for 2 mins before a group of girls started banging on the door and trying to come into the stall. I opened the door after cleaning up the mess the people before us made, and I was immediately called profanities and she tried to fight me. That was the end of my night. I've never been so disrespected and shocked at how trashy women in bars can get when they're drunk. I won't be back but at least I can say I tried.

I have never been to the shows here, but the quality of the drag performances was great! They have a long catwalk and the performers are dressed to impress! Shows usually Friday and Saturday nights. The 9pm show has the most numbers/performers and there is 1 number at 11pm and 1 at midnight that the headliner does (11 and 12). The drinks are reasonably priced ($9 for alcohol and $4 for non) and there is a $20 cover. This place gets packed around 11 and there is loud music/gogo dancers on the catwalk when there are no drag performers. Street parking is scarce so come early or try to find parking in the paid lots since no parking on Hotel St. (buses only). Don't forget your ID!

Came on a Saturday. As a male seeking another male whose lived in big metro areas like LA,NY,SF,PHX, this place is....different Pro: -music -venue is big so there's room to dance -stages/cages/mirrors are different than normal bars I've been to Con: -the clientele is very straight which I guess is ok until 80% of the club is that and it's no longer a gay club and I have girls grinding on me -all the girls hair sticks to my sweaty body -the gays are very timid here or...am I just a hoe? cuz it's like I'm the only one that took off my shirt and danced like it was a party -70% of the clientele seems young and college-y compared to all the bars I've ever been to whether it is a straight or gay bar. -the pop up shows could be distracting only because they are too frequent and absorb all the attention of the whole venue

Woah! This place is massive. There are two main rooms. They play really good music to dance to and their lights are really trippy. We came on a Friday night and it was pretty packed, but it was easy to get a drink at the bar. The drinks are made really well and even though i like more liquor, they don't over pour. They had a lot of great drag performers at 10ish, 11ish and 12 ish. If you like good music and good vibes, this place is for you!

The club is to the left on the right are the people selling wristbands to the college kids.

Absolutely not a safe place for gay people anymore. It is extremely obvious that they are allowing underage kids in. It was a straight frat party inside. As soon as we left we were approached to give our wrists bands away to underage kids. Very disappointing

We usually don't get many superstars to Hawaii, whether it be for concerts, movie events, or drag shows. So when I heard that BenDeLaCreme was coming to Scarlet for an event, I did what any RuPaul's Drag Race fan would do and lost my dang mind. Although I rarely stay up past the early evening hours, I gathered my caffeine and friends for the trip to town. We figured that since the Fresh Fish drag revue started at 10, we should get there around 9:15. This worked out well, since we were able to grab a round of drinks and claim a good spot by the stage. The cover charge was only $10 and you can also pay this with credit card! By 10:00, there was a very healthy crowd in the Pineapple Room and Tita Titsling got the Fresh Fish review going. Hope you brought your dollars for the lovely ladies! By the time Miss DeLa herself graced the stage at 11, it was sweatier in that room than at a middle school sock hop. (There was an actual layer of condensation on the stage.) The crowd went insane as BenDeLaChrist reenacted her shocking sacrifice from All Stars 3. It was nothing short of pure magnificence. I haven't shrieked like that since I was at a Hanson concert at age 13. There was a break after her first set, so the DJ and dancers kept the crowd going until midnight. And then the curtain parted and the stunning BenDeLaCreme came back to do her famous "striptease" with layers and layers of bras. Yaassss! It was adorable, funny, and, so entertaining. I also loved being "glittered" throughout the performance, even though I'm pretty sure I'll be finding glitter in my things for years to come. After the show, we were able to snap a photo with DeLa and check out her merch. However, I wish the employees would have been clearer with the audience about how to line up, as the initial line to the side of the stage was told to clear away for the front of the stage line. I felt bad for the people who had already waited and were told they had to get into an even bigger line. But all in all, it was a fabulous night and one I'll never forget!

View from the Dollhouse booth. Totally worth it!!!!

Ask the Community - Scarlet Honolulu

Which day is best to go? Fridays or saturdays?

Can my 18 year old friends enter just to dance and enjoy the night?

Aloha! Unfortunately, unless advertised as an 18+ night, Scarlet is 21 and over.

    Where can we park?

There is street parking all around, and multiple paid parking lots and garages within a block or two.

What's the dress code? Can I wear shorts and tanks?

    No serious dress code.

Is this place 18+ or 21?

    21 years old

I'm planning an evening for a bachelorette party. What time does the actual show start?

    9:15, 11:00, and 12:00

How much is the cover charge?

$15. They take cash and credit

How do I contact the club during a weekday regarding a missing wallet?

Just message them on there Facebook page and they usually answer within the day

How much is it to get in?

    $10

Is this the new bar7? Lol.

    It is in a sense.

A kid friendly drag queen show?

It's a 21 and over nightclub. Drag shows are usually a little risqué no matter where you go. As a drag queen myself (not at Scarlets) I wouldn't recommend it. RuPaul's drag race is probably the only drag show I have ever seen or attended that I… Read more

Chat gpt recommended this place and I have to say the AI was right! The place is really fun. You can park downstairs and they valet Park you and they will stamp you for free parking. The atmosphere is a fun vibe. They had live music. It's a indoor outdoor place. One thing to note, they don't serve their lunch menu after 4:00 so we went there expecting burgers and they don't serve them. So we kind of stayed reluctantly. I ended up ordering the guava ribs and my wife got them too. Those had to be the best ribs I think I have ever had! They literally fall off the bone as you're trying to pick up the meat. One of the reasons we wanted to go here was we wanted the options of seafood but one of our adults doesn't like seafood and they said that they had all kinds of stuff, which they do. Our server Maka, was incredible. He brings us out a free appetizer and said that was from the chef. I don't know if it was the chef or him but I was impressed and it was good. It was some kind of little fried dumpling. It was awesome! One of the people in our party had thought he was not going to order something and I gave him one of my ribs and after he tasted it, suddenly he wanted some too. I grabbed Maka and asked him If he could get those ribs fast because the rest of us were already halfway through our meals. He got right on it and had that order in. The ribs came out just in time and everybody was happy. It ended up being one of the nicest meals that we had the whole week. We were here and it was a great way to end our vacation here in Hawaii.

We were dying to go back this trip and sad to say, we left disappointed. The whole vibe changed from a fun Hawaiian restaurant to a yuppie upscale restaurant... however they still have the live music, which was a nice. The atmosphere was nice too. The menu items were minimal and surprising to us, none looked appealing. We did get a couple of appetizers, which were good... and a few samplers from the chef which were the best thing we had. But overall, is was a waste of money - and a lot of it!- I will share a positive though, the crème brûlée served in the bottom of a pineapple was delicious! It had a tangy, sweetness of pineapple that was delicious, as well as beautiful! Overall, not the same Tiki's. We did eat at food trucks and little hole in the wall places that had food that was better. Skip the bougie restaurants and go straight to the food trucks and little restaurants. Tip: ask the locals were the good food is. They will tell you it is for sure not at restaurants like these.... We asked.

When you come through the beach, you have the option of dining at the bar, which seems to be a totally different experience. The bar serves burgers and other bar foods, and we wanted something a little less casual. After entering through the bar, we ended up having to go to the desk inside. They added my name and took down my phone number to text when the table is ready. This place is huge. There is indoor seating with lots of grass "skirt" trim around some of the ceiling and bars, and the upholstery of the dining chairs are different colorful aloha prints. On the deck there are think torches and umbrellas and string lights. On the level just a few steps down are more umbrella tables and some musicians playing Hawaiian music. All around are photos of the famous Olympic champion, surgery, and actor Duke Kahanamoku. Much to my surprise, as I was looking around while waiting for a table, a girl asked if I was Denise. They didn't text me; rather, they jot down a brief description so they can just look around and find you. She sat us on the beach deck. Our server was fantastic, so friendly with lots of explanations and recommendations. They use an ordering system and it's fun like a week liked machine. Hubby's beer was delivered to our table before our server even walked away! We both ordered the teriyaki sirloin steak with mashed potatoes. It. Was. Freaking. Delicious. I was full, but couldn't stop eating because it was so good. Dukes is really a place where you know you are in Hawaii--the decor, the food, the music, the friendly service. If you come to Honolulu and don't come to Duke's, you'll be missing out.
