Phenomenal customer service. Great waiting area. Really makes a difference! My car suddenly had some warning lights come on while driving on a long drive- I had 3 hours ahead of me so I didn't want to risk driving with warning signs on. Kay Jay's was the closest auto shop that was open so I prayed the car would make it there. Fortunately my car made it and I was able to check out this wonderful repair shop. Again, first impression, the waiting area is very comfortable, clean, and stands out compared to your average car shop. They have snacks and everything. Next- you can't run a business on just having a nice waiting area- and they matched up on their level of service as well. They ran a very thorough preliminary inspection to see what was wrong with my car and even checked my tire pressure and checked the all the fluids while they were at it... and it was ALL complimentary. They checked my battery levels, etc.. Ultimately they didn't find what was exactly wrong without needing to dive deeper and run more tests, but they gave me their analysis on what it likely could be. Honestly it was very thorough and actually helpful. They didn't just pretend to look at the car and try to get me to replace something just to see if it might work. I couldn't leave my car and stay all day because I still had a long drive ahead of me, but they cleared all my codes and said most likely I would be okay to get to where I was going.. and sure enough they were right. I made it to my destination and so far the car has not been giving me any issues. Just having the piece of mind from a mechanic saying it "should" be okay was assuring and sure enough I did make it. So overall rating- good attention to detail, great service, great waiting area, seem like good people, and seems like the owners are proud of their business which is always good to see. 5/5 Thank you!

I hate that they really tried to charge me this much smh

Literally, knew what the issue was in ten minutes. I asked him if he could do transmission filter and fluid and belt changes while he fixed the AC. He agreed and said, All he needed was a day. Before my appointment, I completed their online intake form with a detailed description of the symptoms and my request for a comprehensive diagnosis. My appointment was on June 29, 2026. Jeremy, the owner, rode with me during a test drive, and together we identified multiple distinct noises coming from the front suspension, including an unusual noise that could be felt and heard through the brake pedal. Before I left the vehicle with them, I understood that all of those concerns would be diagnosed and repaired. Freedom Auto Repair kept my vehicle from June 29 until July 21. During that time, they contacted me several times to thank me for my patience, which I appreciated. When I was notified the vehicle was ready, I asked to test drive it before paying. During that drive, it became apparent that while some of the noises had been eliminated, several of the original noises were still present. I calmly explained that this wasn't consistent with my original service request or with my understanding of what we had discussed before I left the vehicle. Unfortunately, that conversation took an unexpected turn. Jeremy immediately disputed my recollection of our initial discussion and insisted we had never discussed eliminating all of the noises. That was not how I remembered our conversation. He became increasingly frustrated, stated that he was "through with this car," and after I questioned his version of events, he told me, "get out of my shop" and "don't you ever step foot in it again." At no point did I refuse to pay for the work. In fact, I had cash in my hand and intended to pay after confirming the repairs addressed the issues we had discussed. Instead, Jeremy returned my keys and refused payment. While I ultimately wasn't charged for the work, this experience wasn't about the money. It was about the way I was treated as a customer. After waiting more than three weeks for the vehicle, I expected to have a professional discussion about the remaining concerns. Instead, I left feeling embarrassed, dismissed, and unwelcome simply for questioning whether the repairs fully addressed the problems I brought the vehicle in for. Every repair shop can encounter a difficult diagnosis. What distinguishes a great shop is how it communicates with customers when expectations differ. Unfortunately, my experience fell well short of the professionalism I expected based on Freedom Auto Repair's reputation. I cannot recommend the shop based on the way this situation was handled. UPDATE AFTER OWNER'S RESPONSE BELOW After reading Jeremy's response, I want to clarify several points. First, I did not refuse to pay. I had just come from the ATM and arrived with cash in hand. Such is easily verified with a simple review of his in-store surveillance. Jeremy and I agreed at drop-off that I would test drive the vehicle before payment, so my request to do so was exactly what we had discussed. Second, this has never been about what was or wasn't written on the repair order. During our initial road test, Jeremy and I identified multiple suspension noises, including the brake pedal noise, and my understanding was that these concerns would be diagnosed and resolved. Several of those same noises remained when I picked up the vehicle. Third, Jeremy says I insulted him. I did not call him names or use profanity. I told him, "You are being dishonest and twisting yourself into a pretzel to rewrite the nature of our discussion when I dropped the vehicle off." Readers can decide whether that was a personal insult or my frustration after being told a conversation I clearly remember never happened. Finally, Jeremy states he performed "three weeks of work" while also claiming the approved repair was simply replacing both lower control arms. My vehicle remained there from June 29 to July 21. I'll let readers draw their own conclusions on whether that makes sense or not.

The agreed-upon repairs included replacing piston rings, connecting rod bearings, resurfacing fuel injectors, and addressing issues with cylinder 3's heads and valves. December 2024: The shop requested additional money to complete the repair, claiming the need to order more parts from Audi. January 28, 2025: The owner confirmed receiving the necessary parts,  February 7th he stated he had an emergency and had to leave the country. February 21 2025: we visit the shop and I discovered my engine disassembled, with parts ordered from China rather than the promised Audi components. After expressing concern, I reluctantly agreed to have the engine reassembled, understanding I might lose the $3,000 deposit but fearing further losses. The owner promised the vehicle would be ready by March 3, 2025, along with the original contract and replaced parts. March 3rd 2025: scott from the BAR visit the shop to obtain the contract and it was closed.  Mando told him he was ill March 4, 2025: After following up, I was informed of a new issue with the rear tensioner, requiring another part. Mando claimed to have the part and promised to finish the repair.  He also confirmed he was not going to try and take any more money since he didn't complete the repairs. March 10, 2025: The shop was closed and is reportedly staying closed for the week, leaving my vehicle in pieces. I have since contacted local law enforcement, who indicated this may constitute embezzlement, and the Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR) has already issued a citation against the shop. In the meantime: My vehicle remains undrivable and disassembled for 4 months. I had to purchase another car, spending $5,000 on alternate transportation. I am left without my $3,000 deposit, with no resolution in sight. My 2014  Audi Q7 with 109k miles current market value is approximately $10,000 I have no vehicle to this day and no one will help me.
