I was a little scared to go into this Kay's because of all the bad reviews I saw on yelp... But when we got there everyone was so nice!! We were just browsing for bridal sets and 3 people asked if we needed any help. Don't expect to find much help. I asked to see a couple different band styles because I was concerned mine was too wide looking for my small fingers (annoyingly enough my hands look like a child's). I was shown only one and the look on her face definitely told me she thought I couldn't afford it. I only came to Kay's because it's one of the few stores around, not because it was my first choice by any means. If you're going to be a salesperson then at least develop minimal knowledge on what you're selling. Maybe take a little time to showcase styles more fitting for each person instead of whatever is on sale, and can clearly be found on the large banner in front of the door. If you're going to shop here for diamonds, just look at the stones themselves and a true designer to curate your piece. The employees are just as trash as their taste and attitude. read more

Not very many kisses begin with this Kay store, to say the least. Overall, we have had several issues with my engagement ring/wedding band combo and that is the problem of Kay Corporate, but at the customer level, this particular store is clueless as to how to treat a customer. Strike 1 - when my big stone fell out, my husband and I immediately raced to this local Kay to start the claims process. The ring was not purchased at this location, but we had always kept up with the 6 month service checks and the warranty should have been all straight, no drama. Should have been. It turns out that *I* had to call the Kay store from our previous town and hand my own cell phone to the sales rep at this store so that the left hand could talk to the right. When they were done talking, the rep from the other store was said "Did they ask you to call us? They could have just looked this up in the company database..." Strike 2 - So my piece had to be sent out for repair. This store initially sent it to the wrong level of jeweler. I didn't exactly understand their jeweler talk, but basically my stone couldn't be repaired at the first level and had to be sent to the second level. This cost us 4 weeks on the total repair time. Eventually it was sent to a higher level repair shop and the only updates I ever got was when *I* called asking for an update and the best they could tell me was that it was "in the jewelry safe." Apparently the price of Nike shoes in Sri Lanka was affecting Kay Corporate's ability to buy a matching stone to repair my piece, or something like that. When I asked for a better update, I was merely given the phone number to Corporate's customer service hotline and had to spend the next 2 hours chipping my way up the totem pole of excuse makers, I mean managers. My experience with the Corporate customer care hotline can't be a critique of this store in particular, but the way that Chuck the Store Manager (the weasel wouldn't even say his last name over the phone - "Just say it's Chuck's store, they'll know me") pawned me off to a robotic voice menu hotline was just not ok. Kay is definitely in the business of hiring beacons of leadership to manage their stores (don't even get me started about Fayetteville NC...). Strike 3 - after a whopping 12 weeks without my wedding ring (making a total of 19 weeks out of 62 weeks that I've been married that my ring has been at a Kay repair shop) I finally got the FIRST phone call from this store to tell me that my ring was ready for pick up. I say FIRST in all caps because every other phone call seeking an update was initiated by my husband. Not once did this store reach out to us to offer an update, apology, or just an ear to complain to. When we went to go pick up my piece, my husband quietly approached the front desk and said "I have a piece to pick up please" while holding our our claim ticket. The first words from the girl behind the counter were over her shoulder and to her manager, presumably Chuck Nolastname, "Oh, I know who this is...." Chuck suddenly became very busy in his computer or paperwork or whatever, never once even looking up, much less acknowledging us, and certainly not greeting us and accepting any sort of responsibility for the entire situation. I was handed my ring out of a plastic zip bag and that was that. My husband is an incredibly gracious person, but couldn't even bring himself to say thank you as we walked out the door. In choosing grace instead of confrontation, we left it at that. Our complaints clearly won't be to any end benefit. Our story won't put the company or even the store out of business. Any anger we have will only hurt ourselves. Instead we will vote with our dollars, and none of them will ever be returning to Kay Jewelers. To any one who has read this far, I encourage you to vote the same way and spend your dollars somewhere else. And to Kay, I say... Bye, Felicia. read more

Amanda is weird and horrible at selling and store policy. My wife asked to see 3 rings and we were shown two because she said two of the three were the same. We asked how the interest rate worked for the store card and she had no knowledge. We bought a watch and a ring that came to $460 and all we needed was $500 to get 0% APR with 20% down payment. She was god awful, she sent us to another associate who told us "we are trying to get free interest". They were rude and ricocheted us all around the store just to give us the customer care number. We will not be returning to this store location and we will be calling corporate and filing a complaint for their associates giving misleading information. I ordered a Mother's Day ring 2 weeks before Mother's Day 2017 from this Kay Jewelers store, for my wife (as a present on behalf of our daughters). The saleswoman assured me that the ring with 4 birthstones would be ready for pickup NLT the day before Mother's Day. It's now 3 days after Mother's Day (May 17, 2017) and the ring is still not ready. My advice to anyone wanting to create a unique piece of jewelry: Have it done anywhere else but the Kay Jewelers of Columbus, Georgia. read more

Stopped by to get my 6 month jewelry inspection, since I'm traveling I didn't have my paperwork but in the case that you don't they normally pull you up using your name, date you purchased your jewelry, and the store location in which you purchased. An older blonde woman w/ glasses who looked to be in her late 40's offered to inspect my jewelry and clean it, she said it would take a few minutes & I could swing back if I wanted to, fast forward 30 minutes later I come back and she gets my piece out of the jewelry cleaner and tells me to bring my paperwork next time...um...didn't I just tell you I was traveling and didn't have it? Basically she didn't want to do her job and was being a pain in the arse about it, so much so that she pulled a younger (late 20's brunette) coworker into the conversation who yelled from across the store to "just come back with the paperwork"....Rude much?.....So right before I was preparing to layeth a verbal smack down, another employee who was using a computer next to the register chimed in saying he would be happy to look me up and get my jewelry inspected, his name was Anthony (a sharply dressed 20 something young man) he was the only employee who was there to do his job and that's just what he did, a few minutes later he inspected my jewelry, printed out an update/proof of inspection slip and I was on my merry way. I would like to say Thank You Anthony! Thank you for being the only person at this location with a positive, customer service oriented attitude & being there to do your job, if you have the misfortune of going to this location... see him to avoid having your time wasted, he's the only employee who stands out from the rest of the depressing & negative group, if it weren't for him this location would definitely get its much deserved one star. read more
