One Star Is Too Generous
I would give less than one star if I could.
Where do I even begin? My wedding ring took over a month to be resized. That alone is unacceptable. When I finally got it back, it lasted about two weeks before a stone fell out. I then had to wait another month for it to be repaired. The entire point of a wedding ring is to be able to wear it, so thanks for that.
But the issue that truly pushed us over the edge happened when my husband and I were shopping for his wedding band.
Because my engagement ring was purchased from Kay's, I went there specifically to make the process easier. I went into the store multiple times, spent hours looking at rings, asked questions, and made sure we found something my husband genuinely loved. We discussed financing, credit, payments, and every other detail. We were there when the ring was supposedly ordered. We even had paperwork completed and discussed the specific date each month that payments would come out.
We were so excited that I literally put "Hubby's ring comes in today" on our shared calendar.
That day came. No call.
I had my husband call the store to make sure everything was okay. The same manager who had personally helped us through this entire process answered the phone.
And then we found out he never ordered the ring.
We spent hours and multiple trips to the store handling this. We trusted that the person managing the store had actually completed the most basic part of the transaction: placing the order.
In the most condescending way, his response was just, "oh sorry." There was a window for forgiveness, but this comment proved he did not care about our service, the outcome or if we ever returned.
That might be acceptable if someone forgot to order a $20 item. This was a $4,000 wedding ring that we had spent considerable time selecting and arranging financing for.
Even more frustrating is that if this had been any other employee, I would have asked to speak with the manager. Unfortunately, the person responsible was the manager--or possibly the assistant manager. Tall guy, short/unusual name. I wish I remembered it, because I would absolutely include it. Definitely not a man who is deserving of managing a store since he's incapable of doing the most basic part of his job.
I've had great experiences with Morgan, but if this is the man in charge of your business, we will never be back.
I work in the ER. If I make a mistake at work, people die. Do better Killeen. Most of us are military families.
I will also be contacting corporate to make them aware of what happened. We trusted this store with incredibly important purchases, and that trust is gone. read more
