I have bought many pieces of jewelry at this store over my 30 year marriage, including our engagement and wedding rings. We recently brought a watch in for repair, noting 3 things that needed to be taken care of. All of these items were noted on the work order and committed to be repaired. We received the watch back with only two of the items fixed. When we complained to the clerk and store manager, they said they cannot change a crystal and said we should go to Michael's and get a stone to replace it with ourselves. Meanwhile we had already paid them to do the repair and agreed on the price to do all three items up front. No partial refund was offered, no objection was made to our complaint, they just refused to do what we paid for. We won't be buying any more jewelry at Kay. read more

Went to find an enhancer for my engagement ring. Picked a few out of the case. The first one this young chick tries to jam my ring into. Then she proceeds to tell me they would have to cut my ring, remove the head and place a higher head onto it. I told her I did not want my ring cut or altered in any way. Then snottily she tells me that I will NEVER find an enhancer to fit my ring. She was so rude and I told her so. Went to Hannoush and lo and behold they had an enhancer that fit my ring. Guess you lost a sale and your commission with your attitude. read more

Although they take pride in selling you the most expensive item for the type you've inquired about, they do little in service to back themselves up. I was in here to buy a wrist watch, but when I asked for a watch, their styles didn't appeal to me. When they grabbed out a few books of all their styles of watches, they showed me watches that were a bit out of my price range with way too many features (and a price tag to match). And what makes this place not a place to go and purchase, is their watch-battery replacement program: I've been here before with another watch. When they told me that after they replaced a battery that it would break the waterproofness of the watch (due to the screws that hold the back onto the front), I couldn't believe that no watch was that waterproof that by reinserting the screws would it break the waterproofness of the watch. I later found out that my watch had special screws that no matter what they would do with it, it would never loose that waterproofness because of the secureness of the screws-self/tight-enhancing screws in my Timex. Maybe they should take a second look at their policy and loose their gusto when they claim things that aren't true to the customer-and make false claims against their policies. read more
