So, I have been here several times in the past month (some before my Yelp, and a few after - of course).
The first time was to get my engagement ring resized. The gentleman that helped me was very polite and courteous. I did not know what my size was and he helped me decide which one was the best fit, size 5. The ring was going to be shipped off for two weeks and I was stuck waiting anxiously every second of every day. When I went back to pick up the ring, FINALLY, it was the same gentleman that helped me. It fit well.
The next time I went, I wanted to get my fiance his ring and my wedding band as well (I know it is super early - the wedding is in February 2018 - but I just could not wait and he was out of town for a few weeks). The young woman that helped me was amazing!! I told her what I wanted, because I already knew what two rings I needed to purchase. I got him a band as well as a personalized engraving and for myself, I just got a small plain band. I brought my friend in for her thoughts on what the engraving should say as well as emotional support. After wearing my engagement ring (after I got it resized to 5) I noticed sometimes the ring felt big... Not big enough to fall off. I brought this concern up to her, and she mentioned that sometimes when you are cold your fingers kind of shrink up (not her exact words, but that is the summed up version) so the ring may feel loose. This completely made sense to me, but she also suggest that she can resize the wedding band just a tad bit smaller than a 5. WHAT?!?! I did not know you can get a size in between whole and half numbers!! So she said she will write it up for 4.75 and if it was too small when I receive the ring we can resize it again to 5. This was absolutely amazing! While she was writing up the repairs, my friend and I were just chit-chatting about possibly getting my groom a watch for the wedding day. After everything was all said and done, she handed me the packet with the repair slip copies and she even threw in a coupon (because she heard us talking about the watch I was thinking about getting him).
When I went to pick up my ring (my ring was finished early so I was able to pick it up before his was finished) another woman helped me out. She was a little older than the previous salesperson and she also seemed to be a manager of some sort because the other employees were asking her questions you would typically ask a hire-up. I told her I was here to pick up my ring, and she asked for the pick-up slip. I told her I had two, but I know only one was there. She handed me the ring (mine) and I tried it on and I was moving it around a little because I did get it small. She seemed to be a little annoyed maybe? Once I looked up with my satisfaction she asked if I needed anything else. I felt kind of pushed out almost? That is why I am giving four stars instead of five. After two days, I went to go pick up my fiances ring. The first salesperson that help me was the same young lady from before and she remembered my face because she asked what the last name for the ring was! It just felt nice that she remembered me! She handed me the ring, and I inspected it and I found a little nick above one of the letters. And I told her, she inspected it herself and even looked at the ring with a magnify glass. She wiped it down several times, and after she handed it back to me but I still thought I saw the mark. She let the manager know (the same one from above) and the manager looked at the ring and she said that since they use a diamond to do the engraving sometimes you get nicks on the ring. I do not know if that is true or not, since I have never had a ring engraved before.
Overall, my recent experiences have been pleasant and informative. I have never had to purchase a ring before so I was almost clueless when it came down to it. I am most likely going to go back, since we purchased all of our rings though Kay as well as purchased the warranties for all of them as well. read more
