Which was perfect because it's not a long off shore whale watching trip where you're going to get bored and possibly not see anything but water. This excursion takes you only a short distance from the shore and you're able to view land at all times. The boat was clean and comfortable. The captain was a friendly fellow and pretty funny. He did a nice job explaining some of the history of the area, pointed out some noteable waterfront homes and who their owners were and pulled up a few lobster traps from the water to get a close up and learn a little more about the delicious crustaceans. The trip is reasonably priced (which is a plus for any family vacationing in the area because EVERYTHING here is pretty expensive). The weather was excellent and my group had a really nice time with the crew and other folks on the tour with us. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone looking to fill a few hours throughout the day and gain a little local knowledge of the area.

She is a 13th generation Mainer and provided such detail about each local spot including the history behind our food. Her professionalism and Maine pride was evident throughout the tour. The ticket price for this experience was around $145. In my opinion, it is well worth the price because it is an opportunity to meet new people, learn more about Maine, and try different restaurants. Marlene took our group to some restaurants that my friend and I didn't know existed. Some advice would be to arrive on the tour hungry because you get to try so many delicious plates. From the famous Portland Head Lighthouse to off the beaten path locations that no tourist ever attended, he found spots to take gorgeous photos and videos. Although the weather on the day we visited was overcast, Norm even planned for those weather contingencies and had multiple locations ready for us to film from. He helped to structure the tour so that lighting was best for the specific shot. Prior to our tour, Norm had also location scouted a variety of different locations so that he could recommend specific spots from which to film rather than us wasting time looking for a spot to shoot from. Norm was also extremely hospitable and friendly and epitomized Maine hospitality. Norm and his company have the flexibility to cater the tour to your exact specifications: You want local only food places for foodies; you want a tour in Cantonese or Portuguese; You want a tour of all lighthouses -- nothing was a problem.
