    Chicken Ramen

Checked out this ramen place during a rainy day! They're still in their soft opening stage. They said they're going to have a full menu around the end of November (though check their website/social media presence for their actual update). Both the chicken and pork ramen were very yummy! Flavorful. The perfect amount of saltiness and savoriness.

The Homie and I took advantage of heading to Kayava Belltown via Interbay. Thankfully, no road closures through Greenwood & Ballard, Sunday free street parking and no Climate Pledge Arena event this evening. This prime location is located on 1st Avenue between Bell & Blanchard in Seattle's Belltown neighborhood. Conveniently located near Pike Place Market, the Waterfront, and lower Queen Anne/Seattle Center. Other nearby landmarks are Mixed Pantry, Slip Gallery, Kedan Makai, and Umi Sake House. Since it is in soft opening mode (just opened 7/18/25), there is a limited menu, with the ramen noodles produced from their Fremont site. Also, note there are no appetizers and alcoholic beverages at this time. Service was welcoming and helpful as our waitperson spoke of menu highlights. Interior is a bit spare with high ceilings, mirrored walls, and rough hewn wood floors. Loud overhead modern pop music. There is counter, table, and limited outdoor sidewalk seating. The Homie ordered the Chicken Paitan Ramen ($18) with extra egg ($2) and extra 5 pieces of succulent, tender chashu ($5). He requested no menma (bamboo shoots), but was okay with the garlic, scallion, and red onion. He definitely enjoyed his ramen bowl during his first visit to Kayava. I opted for Pork Shoyu Ramen ($18) also with extra egg ($2) and extra 5 pieces of succulent, tender chashu ($5). This was garnished with menma (bamboo shoots), naruto (fish cake), and scallion. Pro tip: mix the soft boiled egg into the hot broth to elevate the broth to rich and silky. This is my first visit to Kayava Belltown, but I had first experienced Kayava Fremont previously during a well attended and lavish Yelp Elite event back in 10/2/24...different vibe altogether. This dining experience was not as interactive or leisurely. We admit to slurping down our respective bowls quickly. Delicious ramen bowls, plus we were the last customers onsite. Added plus was being provided chilled water during our meal. We were well hydrated. Note: when closing time is 9pm, last order taken whether onsite or takeout is 830pm. Great addition to the dining scene in Belltown and Downtown Seattle.

I'm excited that a ramen place has finally opened in Belltown. Came here during soft opening, so they only had 2 options to choose from. I ordered the truffle shantan ramen. I wasn't a fan of the raw onion. I did enjoy the noodles and enjoyed the broth. I added a slow cooked egg to my ramen, which was an extra addition. My husband ordered the spicy chicken paiten ramen. This ramen was also good with just the right amount of spice. Overall, I enjoyed our ramen here and would go back here.

I ordered a miso ramen and my parents ordered the tonkatsu ramen. As someone from the Bay Area, I was so surprised by the richness of the ramen and it definitely beats some of my usual spots. Each bowl was ~$15 and a smaller bowl, so would definitely advise getting an extra batch of noodles. The chashu is melt in your mouth tender. The broth wasn't very salty or over complicated itself with a burst of spices, but highlighted the simplicity of a good ramen, tasting the long simmer of the pork. My dad was honestly pretty pissed circling around the area for an hour for parking, but said it was all worth it, even waiting in a long line.

The ramen was incredibly flavorful--rich, comforting, and exactly what you want. Everything tasted fresh and well thought out. I also ordered a draft root beer which was honestly so good and a fun change from the usual. We came with kids and they made the experience extra special. The kids got to pick out a Pokémon card at the bar (huge win), and our waitress went above and beyond--she was so warm and attentive. She even brought the kids Pocky for dessert, which was such a sweet touch. We also ordered the fried chicken--$8 for a huge portion, which is an amazing deal. The dipping sauce was delicious. Personally, I'd prefer the pieces to be a bit smaller, but that's just a minor preference, As well as a real utensils would be nice over plastic. Overall, such a great experience with amazing food, kind service, and thoughtful details. We will definitely be back!

I have been to Kajiken a couple of times since the time of this review, and I can say that this is…read moreone of the better places that will give you a bang for your buck in the Cap Hill area. I have only been here during the dinner hours (6 - 7PM) so I can't really say how it is during the lunch rush. Due to how close it is via the 2 line light rail, I haven't visited Kajiken via driving, so I can't really say definitively how the parking situation is. But looking at the restaurant exterior, I think the closest parking situation would be streetside near Cal Anderson park, which for sure will be difficult to find spots as anywhere in Cap Hill would be. From the light rail station, it is only a 10 minute walk at most, which is very accessible and great. Service is fast at the restaurant - even during a busy dinner rush, we were able to always get our food within 10 minutes of ordering. I have tried the Nikumori Aburasoba ($19) and the Homura Aburasoba ($19). They were both absolutely delicious! I think my first visit, I thought that the bowls were a bit small, but the more I ate it, the more filling it feels, and by the end, I felt comfortably full. These noodles are scrumptious, with a pleasing chew. Complimented by the savory and extremely flavorful sauce that clings nicely to the noodles, which is further enhanced by the creaminess of the egg yolk, give these bowls a very enjoyable flavor profile. I really liked the Nikumori bowl, as they are generous with the chashu slices and there is minced pork too! The pork is cooked perfectly - nice chew and meaty in texture, coated in the savory sauce and not too fatty to the point where you get overwhelmed eating it. I think it does lean a little bit pricey, but I guess that $17 - $20 is pretty much the standard for ramen nowadays in Seattle. But I think that Kajiken really hits the aburasoba cravings really well with their quantity and quality. I would come back to try their other options.

Food: 3/5 Service: 4/5…read moreAmbiance: 4/5 My friend saw this spot on social media so we all went to try during our trip to seattle. They specializes in soupless ramen, which was something new for me. We started with the original karaage and takoyaki. Both were solid appetizers, neither really stood out in a memorable way. For mains, we ordered some of their more popular bowls which are: The roast beef & meat lover and the homura. Presentation wise, the bowls were all 10/10 visually. As for flavor it didn't quite live up to the hype for me. The more I ate, the heavier the bowls felt, leaning towards greasy and salty by the end. I ended up taking most of mine to go, and my friend said the same. The noodles had a great chew and texture throughout. I was also hoping the roast beef would be more tender, but the cuts I had were all pretty chewy. Overall, it was an interesting experience and definitely photogenic, but not somewhere I'd personally go back to.
