In preparation for my wonderful partner's birthday, I was on the hunt for some special gifts and knew that I could find something wonderful in there. Always looking for any opportunity to support minority-owned businesses and woman-owned businesses in our awesome community of entrepreneurs, I was hyped to see what I could find. This shop is incredibly spacious! There were so many different sections of items by women of color such as socks, pins, books, items for kids, handbags, candles and more. I was so blown away, I think I browsed for like 30min+ just checking out all of the greatness! Anything you can think of purchasing, it was there. (Beyond food, but I could be wrong, lol) I decided to go with a beautiful, handmade sling bag from Ghana that my boyfriend ended up loving. The employee assisting me was so wonderful and patient, she even suggested some wonderful items to gift including this amazing "Happy Birthday, Black man" card. How special! There's even a full tshirt station ready for you to create a custom shirt of your own. I absolutely love that this store exists and focuses on uplifting brands from women of color. I asked Employee #1 if they sold sizes above 12 in store or online only. She was continually walking and I had to restate my question twice to get her focus. When I got it she then says she doesn't know, I told her i didn't see any sizes past 12 so far so again wanted to know if larger sizes were online only. She said again that she did not know. And walked away. As she walked away, I asked her if she knew anyone else in store that I can ask such as a mgr , she said no then she told me I could try calling into the store which was completely dumb to me. Why would I call into the store when I'm in the store? I realize that I just did not have this young woman's focus. she also misinformed me as She told me all the jeans are in this specific section. On my own, I realized jeans were scattered throughout the entire store. But once again, I chopped it up as I just did not have her attention. After shopping around the store and trying on my items, I realized another employee was starting to block off a portion of the dressing room around. I asked this employee what time they close. She said she did not know. That's crazy to me to work somewhere and not know what time they close so you can tell your customers. Regardless, this was my first time shopping in H&M and the customer service was ridiculous Based on my recounts of these two employees. Ps. Yes they do carry large sizes in store.

I went to Atlantic Station for their Chinese New Year celebration this weekend, and it was a really…read moreenjoyable event. There was a live show featuring the traditional ceremonial dragon dance, which was exciting to watch. They even taught the crowd a few Chinese phrases, which made it interactive and fun. There were also vendors offering food, arts and crafts, and souvenirs for the kids, giving it a great community feel. Thankfully, the rain cleared up and the weather stayed dry, making it easy to relax and enjoy everything the event had to offer.
