It is tucked in the corner of a small shopping center in the town of Prunedale, near the intersection of Highways 156 and 101. While the outside is nondescript, the bakery itself is beautiful on the inside and the selection of baked goods is extensive and spectacular. So many unique and tempting creations. It is difficult to choose one thing to order because there are so many that look amazing. We tried what they call a roulette which is a round layered pastry that is loaded with flavor. It was absolutely delicious. Not too sweet but just right. The disappointing factor at Gourmet Central Bakery is the coffee. It was incredible weak and flavorless. Not sure if it was the beans they use or the mix of water to coffee, but it was hugely disappointing. It did not compliment whatsoever their incredible baked goods. I hope they will focus on providing beverages that match the quality and creativity of their pastries. I would say check out GCB for all of their incredible baked goods, just don't order coffee until they make some changes. Their baked goods deserve, as do customers, a satisfying coffee pairing.

And I luv pastries and baked goods especially if they're authentically fresh made from local bakeries not franchises. So even though we were on a time schedule, I made time to check out this place. So glad I did. Delicious baked items at reasonable prices. Right when I walked in, I was greeted by a young woman that had the best smile and attitude. She was super helpful. I chatted her up a bit and found out they opened in 2021 and it's a family business. The recipes are family recipes. Luv that! Also I had to ask about the prices, there are no prices marked for the baked goods. The case had cookies, cream pies (whole and slices), croissants, muffins, scones, cream puffs, eclairs, mini fruit tarts, cheesecake (whole and slices), and danishes. They all were just so gorgeous. Sitting so pretty in the case. We bought a carrot cake muffin, slice of banana cream pie, a Grandpa David's peanut butter cookie, and a chocolate chip cookie. The cashier packaged everything carefully and provided napkins and forks. The muffins were big, fat and hefty sized. The carrot cake muffin was moist but not so much that it fell apart. So darn good. The frosting was heavenly, not too sweet and just the prefect consistency. I devoured that right away in the car. While I was inhaling the muffin, Hubs scarfed down the banana cream pie slice. The cookies were nice "biggish" size. These cookies were moist, which I prefer over crisp crunchy ones. Grandma Dave's PB was one of the best PB cookies I've ever had. They are also have breakfast menu and lunch menu (burgers, sandwiches, and salads). The place is very small with few two person tables. It's more of takeout place.

I love the cookies from here. Taste like real butter, not like Crumbl. Haven't tried other things,…read morebut if opportunity allows, I will definitely.

I've…read morebeen to many spots in town, but if I'm bringing friends or family from out of town to show them what our community is all about, this is officially my #1 choice. Everything we had was perfect. The sweets are incredible--they hit that rare balance of being flavorful and satisfying without being "too sweet." You can tell there is real craftsmanship in the baking. The atmosphere here perfectly encapsulates the Hollister spirit. It has that beautiful country, organic, farm-to-table feel that makes you want to stay all day. A huge shoutout to David, who did an amazing job basically building everything himself; the attention to detail in the space is stunning. The staff is top-tier as well. Our bartender outside was incredibly sweet and made us feel right at home. The only downside? I wish they were open more days! This place is a local treasure. If you haven't been yet, you are seriously missing out on a quintessential Hollister experience.

Now it's kinda out in the middle of nowhere. It seems as though if you're not a local. And then you turn into this long driveway and you see how super cute it is. It's like an old mini western town. The initial views make you wanting more. Walk up the ramp into their bakery. They had all sorts of yummie looking #pastries to drool over. They have cookies, ice cream and a few hot and cold meals. We shared a pumpkin croissant which was topped with toasted almonds. I suggest getting it warmed up. Their selections change with the seasons so be sure to check their website on their offerings. We sat outside to admire the views. Wow. I'm so thankful to have come across this place. Perfect for sitting in silence and relaxing or to enjoy the company of good vibes. There's tons of seating and so much to look at. Outside they've also got beer on tap. My pictures don't do it justice, but I assure you, you will not be disappointed. And as you drive off, be sure to drive slow and check out all of the cute decor and signs they have along the way.
