I've never stopped in Hollister, CA before but after some searches I realized it really had a lot to offer. I decided to stop here because they were actually open for an event that day. Now it's kinda out in the middle of nowhere. It seems as though if you're not a local. And then you turn into this long driveway and you see how super cute it is. It's like an old mini western town. The initial views make you wanting more. Walk up the ramp into their bakery. They had all sorts of yummie looking #pastries to drool over. They have cookies, ice cream and a few hot and cold meals. We shared a pumpkin croissant which was topped with toasted almonds. I suggest getting it warmed up. Their selections change with the seasons so be sure to check their website on their offerings. We sat outside to admire the views. Wow. I'm so thankful to have come across this place. Perfect for sitting in silence and relaxing or to enjoy the company of good vibes. There's tons of seating and so much to look at. Outside they've also got beer on tap. My pictures don't do it justice, but I assure you, you will not be disappointed. Hidden Gem with Big Flavor & Chill Vibes Suncoast Bakery has quickly become one of my favorite local spots! I've been coming here often with my parents, and it's the perfect place to relax, enjoy some seriously good pastries, and hang out on their cozy patio. They're only open on select days, so definitely check ahead, but it's 100% worth planning around. Everything is made to order, and you can also order once you arrive. They even brew their own beer, which is such a fun bonus if you're in the mood to sip while you snack. My personal favorites? The cinnamon rolls are massive, soft, and absolutely delicious--definitely a must-try. They also have this amazing croissant topped with a cookie (yes, a cookie!), and it's every bit as good as it sounds. And don't sleep on the tapioca pudding--it's creamy, flavorful, and comes in a very generous portion. Everything here is a great size--definitely not your average dainty pastry shop. The staff is always super friendly and welcoming, which just adds to the good vibes. It's kid-friendly too, though I'd recommend bringing a little card game or something to keep them entertained while you enjoy your food and drink. All in all, Suncoast Bakery is a gem. If you want to experience the absolute best of Hollister, Sun Coast Bakery is the place to be. I've been to many spots in town, but if I'm bringing friends or family from out of town to show them what our community is all about, this is officially my #1 choice. ​Everything we had was perfect. The sweets are incredible--they hit that rare balance of being flavorful and satisfying without being "too sweet." You can tell there is real craftsmanship in the baking. ​The atmosphere here perfectly encapsulates the Hollister spirit. It has that beautiful country, organic, farm-to-table feel that makes you want to stay all day. A huge shoutout to David, who did an amazing job basically building everything himself; the attention to detail in the space is stunning. ​The staff is top-tier as well. Our bartender outside was incredibly sweet and made us feel right at home. The only downside? I wish they were open more days! This place is a local treasure. What a beautiful way to spend a day in the countryside. We ordered a burger and salad. There were a lot of people and the wait to get food took longer than an hour. The burger cost $25 and the salad was $15. It was VERY expensive but it was tasty and the servers were very friendly and apologetic. read more

I absolutely love this place! I don't even know where to begin. This has to be the most charming and magical place in Hollister. The ambience is unmatched and the service there is outstanding. They are some of the most friendly and welcoming employees I have ever experienced. It felt more like a big family bbq than a restaurant/bakery. But the best part of the whole experience was the food. I was not expecting to get the best tri tip sandwich and pulled pork sandwiches ever. The portions are generous on everything. The cornbread is definitely the best cornbread I have ever had. We of course had to get a giant cinnamon roll that was absolutely delicious, warm and gooey. My cousin tried their homemade lager and said it was delicious. I truly cannot say enough good things about this place. It is my new favorite restaurant/bakery and we look forward to going back soon. read more

Spent an amazing day at Suncoast bakery/Nut house Brewery in Hollister!!! Fantastic French dip, yummy crumble, gelato, beer and rootbeer. Everything made in house or on the farm. Even grow the hops for the beer!!! Anything they need but do not grow the only get from local organic farms! We met one of the owners....the husband who makes the beer and the second cousin Michelle who were delightful!! Shannon the bartender was amazing! Beer so good!! My bf told me about this place some time ago but we never made the trek down to Hollister until today. The interesting part of our drive there was how far off the beaten path Suncoast Organic Farm is. Once you drive up to the farm, there's a small parking area, and a few barnyard/farm-style structures in close proximity. The one you're looking for will say "Bakery" on the outside. Upon entering, we were greeted by a friendly employee. After scoping out their bread and dessert selection, I decided to get the margherita flatbread and requested it to be warmed up. My bf ordered a steak breakfast burrito and an apricot danish. There's a nice patio area in the back where you can sit and enjoy the views of the farm and the hills while you eat. Once your order is ready, your name will be called and the food will be brought to you. The food we ordered was actually really good! The margherita flatbread had a nice crust and the toppings were delicious. The apricot danish had a good balance of sweetness in the center and flakiness from the crust on the outside. The breakfast burrito was super hearty and well-worth the money spent. Another awesome thing about this place is their keto offerings. They have keto bread, keto pizza crust, keto pumpkin pie, and even keto candy! They also sell other food including various types of bread, sandwiches, pizzas, quiche, breakfast burritos, desserts (like pies, ice cream, gelato, cookies, pastries, and candy). The unfortunate reason for the docked star was the main person assisting us with our transaction was not super friendly. I felt like everyone was genuinely nice and welcoming except for her which was strange. This is definitely a hidden gem in Hollister and one worthy of stopping by if you're in the area. I look forward to their current menu! I've noticed they only bake every two weeks now when it used to be weekly. Having grown up in the Bay Area, I was so excited to find Suncoast bakery. The breads are amazing and I LOVE their pies. I've also tried their pizzas, spaghetti and cookies ..ALL DELICIOUS! My only disappointment was their hummingbird cake I tried last week. Vanilla sprinkle cookies (4) were fresh and not too sweet. Jalapeño cheddar loaf, wow. Slight crust on the exterior, doughy I side with jalapeño and cheddar. Wow. The sandwiches are good, we split one between two people and out was the perfect amount of food. I highly recommend get the turkey avocado, pumpkin loaf, everything croissant (it's spicy with the jalapeno cream cheese filling!), and olive leaf tea. Service was friendly and this place gets busy so plan ahead if you have a tight schedule. Entering was delicious. The tea was surprisingly really good, kind of nutty like olive seeds but bright like a green tea. I got it out of curiosity but now I'm wondering where I can get it at home. This is my new found treasure when I visit my family in Hollister! Delicious organic fresh breads, and yummy desserts. I ordered the cinnamon roll with frosting, we also had the tres leches bread pudding and the chocolate croissant that were all amazing. We had a jalapeño cheddar bread, and focaccia, baguette, and lastly fresh sourdough load straight out of the oven! Awesomeness! It's difficult for me to get out and about so I don't get to come here as often as I would like. It's definitely a special treat! After having a late lunch yesterday, decided to stop at the bakery for dessert and coffee on the way home. I had the bread pudding. It's a huge serving, large enough for two! So delicious! It was a beautiful afternoon and I ended up just hanging out on the back patio for quite a while with my "city" friend who loves going to the bakery. It was very quiet and peaceful. The chocolate croissants are amazing. The breads are excellent...who doesn't love warm fresh bread? I purchased cinnamon swirl to make french toast. Next time I think I'll try the jalepeno cheddar. This is a family owned business that truly shows pride of ownership. The staff is pleasant, professional and accommodating. This place is kind of out there. You are driving thinking, where the heck and I going. I passed it up because the gps was all funky. So you will see two people shaped signs on both sides of the driveway of the owners. It reminds me of Gizdich Ranch. There was a cute old German Shepard, don't worry doesn't care if anyone comes or goes. The bakery is in the big barn and you can sit out back at the tables/patio. They are a little pricey, for a scoop of ice cream is $5, we had 6 girls with us and they wanted some I said there was no way I was spending $30 on some ice cream. I got a pumpkin cream cheese croissant. It was alright but not very sweet. The pumpkin just tasted like pumpkin from a can, not sweetened and the cream cheese definitely needed some sugar and vanilla. I was told this place was amazing. SunCoast Organic Farm and bakery is our FAVORITE place for all kinds of yummy treats! We have been going every Friday and every Saturday for over a year now and we'd go more often if they were open more often! (They're working on opening their Brewery on Sundays soon). On Fridays, I go to this family-run bakery to buy wonderfully flavor-packed soups and breads to eat during the week when I don't want to cook. I also pick up several sweet treats on Fridays, like cookies, hand pies, and tapioca. It all depends on what they have that day, as they buy all of their produce from organic local farms. It's a fun treat each week to discover something new that they've created for their customers! On Saturdays, my husband joins me for a breakfast date. We love to sit on the back patio at their bistro tables while we enjoy the country view and the delicious foods! Lisa, the owner and baker, often sneaks out to the patio to visit with her adoring customers or to bring out samples of something hot and yummy, fresh out of their wood-fired oven. She's such a sweetheart and the rest of the family is pretty awesome too! Honestly, if you're in or near Hollister and you haven't been to SunCoast Organic Farm and Bakery, you're missing out. Truly. I haven't been able to have my favorite thing from Sun Coast Farm in three years since I moved back to Oregon. A trip to the farm used to be a weekly thing when I lived in Paicines. Couldn't live without the bread and all the wonderous things Lisa and her crew made. And this week she made my favorite chocolate croissants. Oh there is no where that they are more perfect. This place is unbelievable! Its a working farm and bakery. Talking about farm to table this place without out about hits the nail on the head. The food is so good so remarkable it is last meal worthy. We had the strata and cinnamon roll. My mouth just waters thinking about it. The strata was something new for us we've never had it before and it was really good. Make sure you get it with the gravy. Since it is a working farm and bakery it is very seasonal it's only open to days out of the week. I wish it was more but I completely understand. Can't wait to go back. read more

Beyond phenomenal breads!!!  The owners are warm and welcoming. I truly felt like I stopped by for a friendly visit...and oh yeah, picked up some loaves of bread. The sourdough is everything I love in a loaf...crunchy crust with soft interior. The garlic butter loaf never made it home. My three boys got a whiff of the garlic and asked for a "taste". 30 minutes later, it was just a memory. Oh and the ice cream cookie sandwiches...I have never seen one larger. They're huge!!! I discovered these baked goods when they used to be at the Mountain View farmers market. Their location is really lovely, close to Pinnacles National Park, San Juan Bautista and local wineries. It was packed when I went. Lots of outdoor seating with a lovely view of the hills. I was hoping to get some graham crackers for a friend but was told they're not making them too often now. So far out there and expensive. But everything we tried was good. I especially liked the apricot braid. I suggest planning an outing here and stay for a while, have lunch on the patio. It's a long drive just to drop in there to pick up some bread or pastries to just turn around and leave. It's in a beautiful setting so stay there and enjoy it. I'd go back if I was in the area. They have a Facebook page that lists their menu and specials every week. The patio is dog friendly. They have some cute out buildings for photo ops. read more

Sometimes you go to a place and it seems to have magic bred into its' being. This is the case with Suncoast Bakery. From the moment you arrive at the large barn, the place looks vacant and you wonder if it's open. Then you notice several cars in the parking lot and you begin to think otherwise. You stroll into and around the dimly lit interior, taking in the goodies tucked in baskets and a cooler, on shelves and tabletops and feel a bit overwhelmed with all of the freshly baked choices. Eventually, you decide on watermelon tea, a ham sandwich with all the fixings and a mixed veggie salad. You go through the screened back door to a folksy looking, shaded patio overlooking a field decorated with whimsical little buildings, cutout figures, plants and animals. Food and drink intermittently arrive at your table with a call of your name. First, the large cup of refreshing, fresh watermelon tea. Followed by your salad which now is perfectly divided on a pair of plates and then the ham sandwich which is actually 2 sandwiches on the fluffiest yet perfectly chewiest bread you have ever had. You finish your meal with a satisfied sigh with plans of picking up goodies to take home, day dreaming about what that might be. Your reverie is pleasantly interrupted by a friendly voice, asking how you enjoyed your meal. This just happens to be Lisa, the co-founder with her husband, Dave and self taught baker. You are treated to the yummy details of their journey and how they freshly mill all of their organic, local grain. Days of dedicated prep work, bring all of this luscious goodliness to your table. On your way out, you again peruse, the bakery, selecting an ancient grain, einkorn bread, almond cookies and a fully loaded, crunchy cheese stick to go, with the thought of what you plan to pick on your next trip. Drove all the way from San Jose to see what the keto bread rave at Sun Coast Organic Farm was all about and was pleasantly surprised by this beautiful little cafe/bakery on a farm on the outskirts of Hollister. They had coffee, pastries, deliciously yummy smelling breads of all types. I arrived at noon when they opened and they had a two lines of folks who were quickly served. I was assisted by friendly staff. I bought 1-4 pack of keto pizza crusts and 2-3 packs of keto bread for $40 which seemed steep but I can't make keto bread or keto pizza so I bit the bullet. The cashier recommended slicing and toasting the bread for sandwiches. Everything was really good! Both the keto bread and keto pizza crust did not taste overly eggy which was a huge plus. You can tell they were made mostly of cheese with herbs. The drive and expense was worth it and I'll be back. I'd love to see keto muffins or loaf style keto bread. I did see keto blueberry cheesecake which I'm sure was amazing. read more
