So my local bakery closed down in the Coachella Valley, and had not enjoyed bread for sometime. El Nopal is AMAZING!! Taste is authentic to what Mexican pan should taste like Small little bakery but HUGE in flavor and quality!! Always stopping by when visiting Hollister.

I had heard from some folks that this place is great and I made a pit stop here today. It is quite unassuming but they do serve some very good pan dulce. My waist was not happy but my taste buds were.

My absolute favorite Mexican bakery! Their conchas are amazing! The bread is actually soft and delicious not just the sugary part. I love their cinnamon cookies with strawberry jelly.

Ask the Community - El Nopal Bakery

Do they sell bread?

They sell mexican sweet bread, bolillos (rolls) and tortillas. If you are thinking loaves of bread, no... they do not sell that.

Is there a way to order in advance? For example, the specialty conchas?

Review Highlights - El Nopal Bakery

They had some latin-inspired coffee as well as little snacks and meals. The mocha I got was decadent - balanced flavor of espresso and chocolate. The arepas were fluffy and filling. While they have your classic espresso drinks for the OG lovers, we came to try their specialty drinks. And they blew away our expectations with them! Their Strawberry Matcha Crema was a great twist on a matcha latte - had that classic matcha flavor as a rich and creamy topper complete with a strawberry base. Definitely more decadent, but it is so worth it no matter the time of day. Grabbed some breakfast as well, and their arepas were a great choice. Served hot and fresh, stuffed with eggs & cheese & cream & plantains - what's not to like? It's been a while since I've had an arepa this good. Everyone here was kind and efficient. It does take a bit for your food because they make it fresh, but they give you a timeframe before you order. If you have the time, definitely order some and sit down to enjoy. It's 100% worth it.

The sweets are incredible--they hit that rare balance of being flavorful and satisfying without being "too sweet." You can tell there is real craftsmanship in the baking. The atmosphere here perfectly encapsulates the Hollister spirit. It has that beautiful country, organic, farm-to-table feel that makes you want to stay all day. A huge shoutout to David, who did an amazing job basically building everything himself; the attention to detail in the space is stunning. The staff is top-tier as well. Our bartender outside was incredibly sweet and made us feel right at home. The only downside? I wish they were open more days! This place is a local treasure. If you haven't been yet, you are seriously missing out on a quintessential Hollister experience.

Now it's kinda out in the middle of nowhere. It seems as though if you're not a local. And then you turn into this long driveway and you see how super cute it is. It's like an old mini western town. The initial views make you wanting more. Walk up the ramp into their bakery. They had all sorts of yummie looking #pastries to drool over. They have cookies, ice cream and a few hot and cold meals. We shared a pumpkin croissant which was topped with toasted almonds. I suggest getting it warmed up. Their selections change with the seasons so be sure to check their website on their offerings. We sat outside to admire the views. Wow. I'm so thankful to have come across this place. Perfect for sitting in silence and relaxing or to enjoy the company of good vibes. There's tons of seating and so much to look at. Outside they've also got beer on tap. My pictures don't do it justice, but I assure you, you will not be disappointed. And as you drive off, be sure to drive slow and check out all of the cute decor and signs they have along the way.
