This was my first time ordering from this place, and I wish I could say it was amazing. The jerk chicken was definitely the highlight of the meal--full of flavor with just the right amount of spice. I absolutely loved it. Unfortunately, the sides didn't meet the same standard. The collard greens tasted like they were soaked in vinegar, making them overly bitter. The mac and cheese also need a lot of work. It didn't taste homemade or even like a good store-bought version. I would recommend trying a different cheese blend or recipe because it lacked the rich, creamy flavor I was expecting. I apologize if my comments offend anyone, but when you're spending your hard-earned money, you want your meal to be worth it. The food was so flavorful here. Ordered for lunch with some of my coworkers. Got the lemon pepper wings platter with mac and cheese and sautéed kale. Did try the brisket and greens from another coworker. Delicious!! That brisket!! Tendernism!!! You can order delivery I believe through Uber Eats, Doordash or Grubhub but those prices definitely do change and go up so we ordered over the phone and picked up for best value. The service was very nice, it's a family run business and they got out entire order correct which included several platters and the three of their delicious homemade lemonade, strawberry limeade and the blue raspberry lemonade. The establishment is very cute and cozy on the inside, very clean as well. Last night was my second time going here. I went back because the first time the wings and ribs were good. The service and experience were so bad that I'm not going back. I walked in to purchase the exact same thing as I did the week before. I looked at the menu on the counter and did not see what I had ordered before ( I ordered via the app). I open the app to show the cashier that the menus are different. She says proceeds to take my order based on what the app says. I order ribs (6) and honey bbq wings (6) with 2 sides. They bring out my order and the wings have mustard sauce on it. I tell them that I order honey bbq and that is not what this is. They tell me that it is honey bbq. I replied no it's not. They take the food back and remake it. While I'm waiting , the cook comes out and says he is remaking it and they ran out of the regular bbq sauce so they mixed mustard with honey. The new food comes out and it was half of what I ordered 3 wings and 3 ribs. The main problem is the gaslighting, inconsistency in the menu and food. The online menu is different than the menu inside the building. The put mustard on wings and said it was honey bbq because they had run out of the regular sauce. I had a terrible experience at this restaurant. We ordered on a Friday night hot at 7 and it took almost 3 hours together get the food. At about an hour into waiting for the order we were called by the restaurant and told that they had no wings. We asked for catfish instead and were told that it would be ready soon. It took an additional 2 hours for the food to get here. An hour after the first call, we called again only to be told that they ran out of catfish. How could you not call the customers and check? I can't even enjoy the food at this point, is it good? No. Don't recommend. Literally horrible experience. read more

This place is small but they do have some stand up space if you wanted to eat there and about three tables outside. We sat outside because the weather was pleasant. We ordered the brisket, ribs, Mac and cheese, and sweet potato soufflé. Ribs were okay, a little dry and not that meaty. Brisket was absolutely delicious. I am really surprised that this joint is 4 stars. Now I'm a huge bbq fan, and have to say this really is sub par bbq. Biggest complaint was about the brisket. If you can see my pic, that is not how good brisket is meant to look. I did ask for a piece from the point which is meant to be fattier, but this was extreme... they should've trimmed that slab of fat pre cook because that was thicker than the meat. The eat was soaking wet for some reason (kind of like it had been rinsed in water), and just tasted like it was really poor/ cheap quality. It was really rubbery, and not smoky at all. And it came with the sauce already applied, so they obviously didn't have any confidence on the quality of their brisket to stand on its own. Also wasn't a fan of the chicken. We tried: Pulled Pork, Smoked Brisket, Baby Back Ribs, Mac n Cheese, Potato Salad, Collards, Sweet Potato Casserole, Banana Pudding, and Peach Cobbler Of the meat, the absolute star of the show is the brisket. Honestly, it's worth a trip just for the brisket. The ribs were fine. The pork was actually disappointing. Too shredded and I didn't care for the sauce that it was in. For the sides, the winner was the Mac n cheese by a mile. It was probably the best Mac and cheese I've ever eaten. All the other sides were fine, but they pale in comparison to the Mac. 3.5 stars - ***1/2. Went here for evening eats right before they closed. We got "platters" of brisket, jerk chicken and ribs. All were really good to say the least. The spice, especially on the jerk chicken is really good and the sauce for the ribs and brisket was also really good. As it stands now the restaurant is take out only. You order via your phone and they'll bring it out to you. A couple things brought down the score for me though. First we ordered Siracha slaw, but didn't get siracha slaw we got an extra muffin. How did this happen? I could understand if I verbally gave my order and it was misunderstood, but you're reading the order from the app so that mistake to me is hard to excuse. Next is the $1.50 'convenience' charge. I think this is kind of lame since we have no other means of ordering. It should be waived considering the circumstances with Covid. Lastly the term 'platter' to describe the main offering here is a bit deceiving to me. I'm thinking maybe half a rack as far as ribs go and just more overall as far the chicken and brisket go. I don't know if we were really hungry but we went through 3 'platters' like nothing. I think we had 3 ribs a piece. This is further deceiving because when you order it doesn't actually tell you how much of what you're getting, it just says 'platter '+ side and when I hear that I think it's gonna be A LOT of something. So portions are kinda questionable. That said I go back to how solid the food is and beyond these issues good BBQ can be far and few between if you aren't making it so overall this place is good. The sandwich looked ok, until further examination when I got home (see photos). The bread was completely burnt, which I'm guessing was to mask the flavorless brisket. The only thing that helped a little was my homemade Mambo sauce. I couldn't finish it. The 5-Cheese Mac was salty and tasted like 1 of the 5 cheeses was Nacho cheese sauce. I was in the mood for a chicken sandwich and this spot has been on my list for a while so decided to try. I called in my order with a nice lady. I ordered the bbq chicken sandwich with the coleslaw on the side. When I arrived, parking was tough so parked illegally in front for a second. I walked in and one of the servers, not the female that took my order, asked in a very low tone if I was uber eats. I told her no I called in my order, and as I said that another lady came from the back with my order and said she just texted me. She handed me my order and I paid and left. Definitely a great place for brisket and pulled pork. In any form it's good. I've been here a few times and never disappointed in the meat. But the sides leave a lot to be desired. The last few times I've been here the sides just weren't good. The pork n bean were to sweet even for me and had way to many onions in it. Last night the mac and cheese was burnt bad, parts of it was hard and inedible. Sometimes the service is a bite slow, even when I order on Uber eats and pick up, I get there and my food will be on the side but they won't even address me so I can pick it up. I come here maybe once every couple of month for the brisket sliders. I read review where the owner replied saying that you have to ASK for fat to be trimmed. Sometimes the brisket is just pure fat and kind of gross, so I am always sure to ask. And so far, not bad. It's I still wouldn't order the sides! I got so tempted I order baked beans and sweet potato fries. The former was too sweet and tasted like it came out of a can. The fries had no flavor. So far 5/5 sides are trash. read more

Nice, hot, good char and the perfect amount of heat. Only draw back was that I should have got some more of that good sauce on the side. The red onions added to the flavor level. The Mac and cheese was good; you can taste the different cheeses. . I normally do not do Kale, but this Sautéed Kale was nicely seasoned. Always seen this place driving by so decided to give it a try. The guy at the counter with blue hair was super friendly and helpful. I got the pulled chicken sandwich, watermelon mint drink, bread budding and I tasted a piece of the jerk chicken. Jerk chicken ( small piece tried): was really good Pulled chicken sandwich: comes served on a Texas toast bread it's good. Comes with coleslaw but I'd pass on that as it seems like can slaw sauce or something wasn't good. Watermelon mint drink: I didn't care for this. Tasted like Kool aid. I have to say, I really enjoyed my meal, service and overall experience at KB's BBQ Smokehouse. I love supporting Black-Owned Businesses, so I was excited when I find out about this place. The only thing is that parking is a real challenge when visiting this place, you'll be lucky if you find some street parking in the area. I ordered the salmon, seasoned kale and mac! I read some reviews about the salmon being a little dry and I have to agree, the salmon needs to be cooked a little less in order for the savory flavors to really come through. The mac was different, they used different kind of noodles that I'm used to, but it was really tasteful, cheesy and fulfilling. The kale was perfectly seasoned and made a great addition to my overall meal. At the time of my visit, the staff was extremely friendly. The daughter of the owners who was in charge of the cashier was very nice and welcoming. I also encountered service from one of the owners, the father and he made sure that everything I needed was taken care of. We circled around a few times before we were lucky enough to get a spot. My mom and I walked in on a Saturday afternoon & the young lady at the register glared at us. It was the most awkward thing ever. I thought it was just me until my mom mentioned it too. We couldn't decide what to order, and since the girl didn't suggest anything, we decided to just split a pork rib sandwich. It was just ok. The meat was overly salty, didn't fall off the bone like I was expecting and didn't have enough bbq sauce at all. I also wasn't a fan of the Texas toast & the massive amount of red onions on top. This is basically a take-out only place. They have a small space for 3 or 4 people to sit but that's about it. This review is based on one menu item and one encounter. I am willing to give them another try in the future, but no time soon. I decided to give this restaurant another try, Being though it's black and family owned. It must be new owners because the whole staff were new including the cooks! The girls in the front that take your order were extremely new and not trained. I ordered over the phone and it took 10-15 minutes to order with the worker over the phone because she made a mistake in deleting my order in the system. When I received my food . I must say it was a huge mistake !!! Kale was disgusting! They did not strip their kale leaves of their stems !!! ( picture listed) I had huge pieces of kale leaves trying to chew down. Their kale was never like this ! The salmon was average but the honey glaze sauce was spicy. Their sauce never tasted like this as well. This will be my last time supporting this restaurant . To add : I never signed or receive my receipt for my meal from ordering and paying over the phone ! And I did not notice until I returned back to my job office.. Multiple people have been suggesting KB's to me and I was around the area, so I finally gave it a try. My meal had high points and low points. I'll start with the low, the brisket had loads of fat left on it. It wasn't trimmed at all. It was covered in sauce and garnish, so I couldn't tell at first. Other than the fat remains it was flavorful. The Mac and Cheese was just okay to me. The cornbread was delicious, I wish I had more. The red velvet cake was also something to rave about, it was light and moist. I'd give KBs another try, hopefully they have the wings I originally went for. read more

Well your probably wondering how I found this place... honey saw advertisement on FB so he was all in and I had half of my foot in to explore this BBQ... Well It was easy for me to find a park (right out front off street parking) so I ran inside was greeted with a friendly smile and given a menu. She then told me to phone in my order from my car due to social distancing guidelines. While in the car, we gazed at the menu and then we finally decided to place our order. We ordered the Platter signature wings, brisket, sweet potato soufflé, Mexican corn, and Mac and cheese. Oh and why not try the drinks "Strawberry Mint Tea/Raspberry Tea". They phoned us after 15 minutes and let me tell you "the food was mouthwatering". I was so upset because I could smell the bbq as I was driving and I knew he wouldn't let me eat not one wing on the parkway.... I must say it was worth every penny spent, every minute we waited and the drive! The wings and brisket were tender and flavorful! The side orders were delicious and so were the drinks (somewhat sugary but it's ok I'm not Diabetic). Of course, we will return!!!! Absolute worst customer service in the world. Ordered a meal on Father's Day, and the delivery is missing the brisket. Keep in mind, they charged for the full order. They didn't call, they didn't offer a take it off the bill, their response is "oh yeah, we ran out of that". I directly ask if they charged for it, and the response is "well, we didn't charge, Uber eats did." A So yes, basically, check your order and make sure they aren't ripping you off.
