Really HOT and Spicy Southern Style BBQ location in Sugarland, TX. This location has 3 franchise resturants in one. KB's Hot Chicken, Dickey's BBQ and Wing Boss. The owners of the location where present at the time and where super nice and hospitable. We have never eaten KB's, but I am impressed. The cool part is not only the murral art and southern-decoration style of the location. If your not in the mood for chicken, then you can order up some ribs or brisket, but if your in the mood for just wings, then go for it. Great hot chicken place! I ordered the Texas toast sando, fries and Mac and cheese . Medium spice. For reference, I can handle eating serranos and I don't shy away from heat. Medium level packs a punch after a couple bites, you can feel a light burn but it's not enough to make you put down the sandwich. For my fellow, spicy food eaters, it's the perfect place to start at. A nice little kick. Mac and cheese is solid. Good recipe, definitely want to eat it hot. The fries were fresh and seasoned perfectly. The Texas toast bread tasted like the normal sliced bread rather than actual Texas toast FYI but it didn't take away from the deliciousness. Stopped in for a quick bite with a friend that is visiting in town. We certainly weren't disappointed. Everything from the decor, to the customer service, to the food was absolutely superb. KB's is fantastic!!! Tried a little of everything off of their menu with medium level heat including the sandwich, 1/4 chicken, tenders, and fries. The sandwich was delicious, not just the chicken but also the slaw that they use which doesn't have mayo and is really light tasting but adds a nice crunch. Their sauce is also fantastic. The oil that the chicken was fried in tasted kind of old. After waiting 20 minutes for my food... the fries were not even hot...neither was my sandwich. Skimpy on the coleslaw and had 3 pickles. My daughter and I came to this KB's for the first time today (March 8, 2022). The door was locked and it was 11:02am. When we walked up to the door one of the workers saw us coming, but turned around and went into the kitchen. Him and another worker were in the back. We waited 5 more minutes. When the other worker look out from the kitchen I waved my arms. Both workers came out to the dining area looking at each other. It was like they were trying to decide who should open the door. After watching this, my daughter and I decided to go down to Cheddars. While walking back to my truck, I turned around and the workers just went back to the kitchen. They never tried to invite us back or even explain why they weren't open at 11:10am. It's amazing how the restaurant industry whines about their hardships, but they have no problems turning away customers. Doesn't really matter since we won't return. Makes me wonder if workers like this having a piss poor attitude with customers how do they feel about the food preparation. I, for one, wouldn't want to chance that. read more

This is an awesome spot with great decor, super clean, friendly staff, and great food! Prices are moderate and portions are a decent size. First pic is the Bird'a Nest combo with a side of fries. It was a lot without being overwhelming. Good mix of flavors and you can easily taste each one. Will, 16, said he was shocked it filled him up so quickly since it's just fries. He's rarely full. The second pic is the quarter bird but I asked them to sub the wing with a leg and they agreed. This is super crunchy, super flavorful and goes great with their comeback sauce or ranch. Both chicken options were in a medium which was accurate. Sometimes we get medium at places and it's super spicy or has none, but this was truly in the middle. The chicken alone I rate a solid 9. The last picture is the brisket... I'm not going to rate the restaurant off of the brisket. The brisket was dry, lacked flavor, and the smallest size you can get is 1/4 pound. My son and I each tried a slice but we threw most of it away. Give KB's a shot but stay with the chicken and you won't be disappointed! Definitely recommend and we will be back! read more

To start off the menu was very confusing. There's 3 different menus inside this location and it was quite overwhelming to see so many items on the menu. There was BBQ, hot chicken, and wings menu. Secondly the food was good and presented on a cute little board. The chicken sandwich was delicious. The only downside was the chicken sandwich was ordered to be hot, and it was not hot at all it was a slow build but even then the chicken wasn't that hot to the expectation of a Nashville hot chicken that they advertise all over the walls. The chicken tenders were very good as well, but the sauce that had came with the tenders were a bit strange. The flavor profile didn't suit the tenders. Lastly the wings took forever to get to my table. The chicken sandwich and tenders had came in about 10 mins of ordering. Unfortunately my chicken wings had taken about 20-25 mins, it was quite upsetting to see all of the other food arriving and then customers walking in and ordering food to-go and they have received their food before your last dish hasn't even came to the table. KB's has DELICIOUS chicken! I ordered the Bird's Nest and it was amazing. I loved the vinegar slaw with the saltiness of the fries, and the chicken was perfect - well seasoned, and just enough spice for me (I got medium and it had a zing!). It was a beautiful day out, so we ate outside on their covered patio. There's some cute string lights, so next time we might come when it's dark! The seasoning itself was just ok though, as my medium was definitely closer to mild and nothing else about the flavor profile really stood out. Today I tried the "Sando" which is basically the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich like you get at all the other NHC joints that have been popping up in Houston since Mico's got popular. But what sets this place from apart from the rest is that the NHC sandwich is just one item on the menu. It's not their hallmark item. They're more of a very good fried chicken joint so you can get all pieces of chicken fried in the Nashville Hot Chicken style. I didn't try their fried chicken items, but I did have the Sando and it was very good. The chicken quality was excellent, the sandwich was piping hot (temperature wise). I got the heat level of "Hot" and, while it was spicy and had a kick, if you're really into spicy food it won't be enough. The portion size of the sandwich was good, and not overwhelming like too many places. The crispness was a little below my expectations.
