Tiny sauce cup for family chicken fried rice
    Kendall T.

. I've visited this restaurant three times now and unfortunately the experience has been consistently underwhelming. The service and communication could definitely be improved; asking basic questions about the menu or looking for guidance felt a bit uncomfortable, as if it was an inconvenience to the staff. During my most recent visit, I was even told my order was "weird," which threw me off. They were also out of sauce, which made a noticeable difference because the rice was pretty dry and really needed that added flavor. Without it, the dish tasted a bit like leftovers. The chicken was cooked well and smelled great, but the flavor didn't quite match the aroma. I really wanted to like this place, and I gave it multiple tries, but the overall experience just hasn't been what I hoped for.

2 piece dark meat.... Notice the skin on the leg is non existent lol.

Hello! I am updating my review since the last time I came. My last review was from 2019, I used to work in the area and would be a frequent customer for lunch. It was always delicious and the portion sizes were awesome. The salad was always fresh, inside was clean and organized. Usually the service was like chipotle where you order and they take the chicken out right in front of you and give you your sides. Fast forward to 2025--- I came a few times but the last time I came was not the best experience. Now when you order- they pack your food up for you and don't show you the food in front of you. Which is fine but man the portions are smaller now, and the sides are not as fresh. We got the Caesar salad and it tasted so old and the lettuce was all wilted. I had to throw it away. As for the sauces they used to give, they gave us 2 sauces and they were both watered down. I feel like the quality definitely went down here which makes me sad.

    Cash payment savings.

I came here to try the food through the App TooGoodToGo where you can get food at a discount. I go inside and tell them how many box I ordered through TooGoodToGo and they start packing the food for me. It is usually an order of the chicken, some rice, beans, and plantain. I would order a drink from them if they have it. It's a nice fast casual restaurant, it's really clean feel and the temperature is good not too cold inside. This place also serve halal food here.

family meal: two whole chicken, plantain, fried rice

bruhhhh, I have eaten this on meal prep for the last two weeks. I'll order a family style meal that comes with two whole chickens (they cut it up for you), and 4 sides. Keep in mind, Yucca fries run out fast, potatoes are the number one seller. When you order, they often forget one item. If you are door dashing or ordering online, keep in mind when they run out, you will need to substitute something. You aren't the only one that wants to order here, and they know it. They will call you, and you better pick up! or else your DoorDash driver will sub it for whatever they want. They missed something out of my order like 3x/ now, but im still coming back because that chicken is smacking!!!! The plantains, broooo heavenly! Potatoes - highly recommend, and make sure you get some sauces on the side too!! I like the beans, I think it's flavorful for sure. Am I coming back? Hell yeaaaaaa I am! like next week!

Great option for me to switch things up a little on a Thursday. Stopped in around 5 and the place was empty and the staff was welcoming. The place is very spacious and well lite. It's cafeteria style so there's no wait to get your food. I got the 1/4 chicken, rice, veggies and fries. Overall the food was great. I would recommend to anyone for sure.

The shop is so small that seating is non-existent, (#3) thus it's strictly a takeout and delivery establishment. Their display case of hot foods changes throughout the day, depending on availability. Anything after the late afternoon is a huge gamble, so when in doubt, call ahead of time to confirm whether an item is available. I love to pop in just to get a good visual of my choices -- and I've always managed to walk out with something delicious. Of all the items I've tried, there have been standouts across the board. The oxtail, stewed chicken with gravy, smothered rib tips, meat loaf, and their über famous honey glazed wings and meatballs are fabulous. Their sides of dressing, sweet candied yams, mac and cheese, and fried green tomatoes make for a perfectly complete meal. Even the cornbread is outstanding, which is really saying something. I'd be remiss not to mention their incredibly underrated desserts. The peach cobbler is fire, pound cake and banana pudding are excellent, and their triple layered German-chocolate cake floored me. It was decadent, a tinge savory, and extremely addicting. The fact they offer catering for every item mentioned above means my future potlucks are going to be next level. When they're ready to open another location in a different part of town, I can only hope it'll be closer to me. To be honest the service is slow and at times they're rude and don't wanna do their job. One of the only positive things I can say is that even though the service is slow, the food comes out hot & fresh. I would hope so since they're not busy. My to go orders are usually the 3 piece campus with either mash potatoes, red beans and rice, collard greens & dirty rice. Or I'll get their 3 piece catfish. Sometimes I'll get the dessert (peach cobbler & sweet potato pie). While the chicken comes out hot & fresh. There is zero seasoning on the chicken itself. Not even a pinch of salt. They rely on the batter for flavor. Don't get me wrong the batter is salty & delicious for my palate but the chicken is so bland. Collard greens are uninspiring & boring but edible. Mash potatoes taste just fine but their gravy adds a layer of flavor. Red beans and rice once again, flavorless & they always give you one measly piece of sausage. Their dirty rice is a little dry but not bad. Now for the catfish I actually enjoy it. The batter is the same as their chicken & the fish itself is moist and juicy. The desserts feel like it's store bought and not made in house but it's bearable. Overall, this location ain't it. It's located next to a gas station & the area itself isn't safe. The inside of the restaurant isn't clean either. Lazy & rude employees don't make it any better. If you want some good Frenchy's go to the one on 3rd ward. I would frequently go there but that's no where close to my house so I have to settle for this location. I hope they make improvements before they shut down.

My family and I walked in and immediately I was curious why on a Saturday afternoon the restaurant was not busy. Although the food was delicious, what was lacking was the service and communication. We arrived at the restaurant, and they had two other tables that were enjoying their lunch. We were their third occupied table. We looked over the menu and ordered with a young gentleman server. After we ordered, I noticed another customer came and sat right behind our table and they ordered as well. I'm unsure whether the restaurant prioritizes online and takeout orders, but throughout our visit, the kitchen continuously brought food to the pickup window while servers packaged to-go orders. What made the experience even more frustrating was that a table seated behind us received their food before we did, even though they had arrived after us. When the food was delivered to the table behind us, one of the staff members appeared surprised and gave me a look that seemed to acknowledge we had been waiting longer. By this point, we had already been waiting 35 minutes for our meal. Later, the staff brought out bowls and spoons, so I asked our server how much longer the wait would be until our food will be serve. She responded, "About 10 minutes," but did not provide any explanation for the delay. After I asked about our order, I noticed the staff member relayed my question to another employee. This left me even more confused, especially since it seemed they were already aware that we had arrived before the table that had been served. In my opinion, the servers need to be trained better and communicate with their customers. Making fun of customers behind the host/cashier stand because I asked a simple question is not ok.

The beef is so well-seasoned, so juicy, rich and has a great charbroiled / charcoal aroma to it. I think the exact same for the ground chicken, but less fatty, still very juicy and lighter flavor profile. The shrimp were simple, mild in seasoning, but so succulent, fresh and cooked just right. They didn't taste like frozen, bagged shrimp that was cooked, but fresh and slightly sweet with some char. The dill rice is full of lima beans, buttery / oily to the right amount and just the perfect level of earthiness. Great, fully cooked tomatoes that pop in your mouth. I had a bit of a sore throat today, but the food here was a wonderful way to pleasure the pallet. Most Persian restaurants in Houston have 0 charbroil or charcoal taste, bad meat full of fillers and minimal seasoning in their meat, but just 3-4 do it right. This place absolutely nails it for kabobs and can easily compete with California in the Orange County area where top notch Persian restaurants are common. The bread the veggies that came out were very good. The appetizer sampler we got the eggplant dish, hummus, and yogurt and shallot. The hummus was not our favorite as our other go to Persian places seem to have a smoother texture but the eggplant was good. The yogurt was pretty tangy with light shallot flavor that wasn't super detectable but it was still nice. The koobideh was juicy and the rice and tahdig that came with it was super yummy. I don't love the seasoning for the chicken koobideh but that's just a preference thing nothing was wrong or unpleasant about it. The lamb koobideh was on point. The meat that my SO had was very good as well. Beef was tender. The chicken was tender. The only thing I was confused about was that my SO was supposed to also have tahdig on his rice but didn't receive it, he just got normal rice. My SO didn't tell me until the very end of the meal though so we didn't say anything to them but it was strange to forget that part of the meal. We didn't knock them for that because my SO didn't bring it to their attention and I'm sure they would have fixed it if we told them. Service was very friendly. They kept checking on us and were very polite. The outside of the restaurant is unassuming in a strip mall but the inside is pretty. There are some other Persian places that we prefer but the tahdig and the service and the juiciness of the meat were great here. The hummus was not our favorite though which to us is a big component that we like to eat. 4/5.

Dipped into their Chubby sauce, they were great. As for the slider, patty was perfect, grilled onions, cheddar cheese melted - just the right size for someone who usually splits a burger with the wife or has left-overs. My son had tender sliders with some sauce on them. Looked good and he scarfed them down. He also had a banana milkshake - something I wouldn't order but the flavor was certainly there. I placed an online order - it quoted my food to be ready in 15 minutes but I got the text that it was ready in just 7 minutes. Fast service! When you pull up, it's a bit hidden in the strip center so keep an eye out for the Chubbies sign or you might unknowingly drive past. The restaurant itself is very small with only a few tables for dining in, so I think it's meant to be more of a takeout place. My food was ready for me to pick up on the shelf to the right of the counter. I was able to get additional napkins and ketchup at the adjacent self-serve station. I got the Chubbie and Rodeo Clown sliders with a side of fries. Total came out to just over $11 after tax which is pretty reasonable for lunch. The Chubbie is their classic slider, patty with cheese and diced onions. The Rodeo Clown was a patty with cheese, bacon, and onion ring. These came with a side of their house Chubbie sauce for dipping. I did like the Rodeo Clown much more because of the add-ons for the same price as the Chubbie. Nonetheless, both sliders tasted good and with the side of fries, I was content. I will say that the real deal was a bit of a disappointment compared to the photos they have on their online menu. IRL, the sliders appeared smaller and flatter. The fries were standard straight cut fries served in a paper bag. I do wish that they would have at least put the fries in a cup or butcher paper inside the bag, because all the grease got soaked up in the paper bag and made for a bit of a mess. I hope that this place makes it, as the employee (owner?) working the counter when I came in seemed like a genuine guy who was happy to help. I'd love to try more of their sliders as well as the chicken tenders because I read that these are massive!
