Went to @brasascharcoalchicken, new location opened Hwy 90 in Sugarland. Las Brasas is a Peruvian restaurant, with their highlight being their charcoal chicken. We ordered a whole chicken meal, which comes with 3 sides (we went with the seasoned potatoes, steam veggies, and salad). also ordered the Lomo Saltado. first off, the chicken was just perfectly seasoned, very flavorful, plus the Jalapeños dipping sauce was fire . Next for the Lomo Saltado, which is filet mignon in a pasta stir fry. the steak was tender and juicy, and overall, the stir fry was very flavorful. I definitely enjoyed this place, and I will be back soon.

Pretty good spot. Portions seemed to vary though. Very flavorful food though would recommend trying out to see how much food you get.

Great chicken and amazing customer service and atmosphere. The portions are very well priced and they provide samples as well.

This time I called in an order for tallarines saltados and two whole chickens for my family. They told me it would be ready in an hour, which was fine. When I arrived to pick it up, the owner handed me the food and casually said he replaced my tallarines with lomo saltado -- without asking me first. He said it was "a better choice" and that they were out of tallarines. I told him clearly that I did not want lomo saltado, but he kept insisting, so I just took it to avoid arguing. When we got home, the real problem started -- both chickens were undercooked, tough, and hard to chew. It was so bad that I told my kids and family not to eat any of it, and I ended up throwing everything in the trash. I paid good money for this meal, and we didn't get to eat at all. Changing an order without consent and serving raw chicken is not acceptable. I won't be coming back.

The sangria was NOT worth the wait. I expected better from this place. It was also my friend's first ever visit and I had raved about my previous visit. I am not raving about the place now. Friend ordered lobster bisque. Much later we were told they ran out. Told in a manner of "oh well" and a shrug by our disinterested server. I found our female server surly, unhelpful, and appeared like she had no interest whatsoever in doing her job as patrons were disturbing her day. She should have stayed home. Once my friend decided what she wanted to order, this server had the audacity to tell her what salad she was going to get. Not suggest. Tell! My friend did not want salad as the menu said there was the option was soup OR salad and she wanted and ordered the corn chowder, you know, since "they ran out of the lobster bisque." Our server apparently left. Took us a while to notice due to the lack of service which was all hurry up and wait. (The place was not crowded at all). Took forever to get our check. We never saw our server again. Another male server came by. We told him, twice, to split the check. Which he did not. As a reward for making the request, he brought over the incorrect check. I mean you cannot make this total experience up. The food was good The lack of quality service ruined the experience, negated the food's taste, and the surly server did not earn the tip I gave her. It was my friend's first time there and we were made to feel extremely unwelcome.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was at a more casual restaurant but at a classier steak place, this was odd. The lamb chops, el hefe, and the tropical chicken was great! My sister got the Marsala which we didn't not enjoy, the wine flavor was just too strong. Price is fairly reasonable for what it is. The plating was not particularly attractive though. The portions are quite small and just thrown onto a plate.

It is beautifully done, the ambiance is outstanding, the food is really good, very accessible, with plenty of parking, and it is reasonably priced. We go there for most special occasions (never the exact day of the occasion e.g. Mother's Day, but for the occasion), and are never disappointed. Fernando runs his restaurant his way- for his guests. He does not overbook, he does not tax the capability of his kitchen or serving staff, and accepts reservations that insures first class evenings for those who DINE there. You are never rushed to turn the table, and the noise level is low enough to actually allow conversation. I almost am hesitant to post this as I fear Yogi Berta's comment ("no one goes there any more, it's too crowded") might ruin my favorite secret.
