There is no pressure at all to buy. Candy and her daughter own the shop and their helpyhelperton Carol is their part time fill in hostess. I have horrible thinning hair because of family genetics and medications. It's made me very self aware and adds to me a feeling of inadequacy to my life. Being that it is what it is, I'm in the public eye for my job and just know that vanity helps sell one's product. So I'm all about the pretty song and loving me, but I like the outside to be as pretty as my inside. I came in right before closing (6pm) on a Thursday. Carol was so helpful in finding a petite style for me and letting me try on different options. I was ecstatic at the help. Other shops I have been to in downtown were rude and pushy and I vowed not to come back. Carol was great and assured me that if I wanted to think about what I tried on and come back the next day I could and that she would hold them for me for a day. So I did! I bought 2 wigs and donated my other 4 to their charity (women's cancer center at suburban and Baptist) they other thing they can do is cut the hair in the wig to fit your face so it's even more yours (once you buy it that is) and will help you with any other wig questions or re cutting. They greet you when enter and are there to help you with anything you need. There are rows and rows of stuff to choose from. Shelves are spacious to walk in, extremely clean, has attractive dark brown hardwood floors. Hair products make up a third of the store. The rest is dedicated to hair. Wigs and weaves make up the rest of the store. It is located in a big shopping center on Outer Loop Rd near Krogers. Since they have such abundant of products this is the place to find what you are looking for.

It's been five years since I wrote my last review for Allure Salon so I decided to write an update…read more There was a period of time that Ann stopped cutting hair. When that happened I tried a different stylist at Allure but wasn't totally satisfied. That left me shopping the area for a new salon. Others were just ok. Several weeks ago I called Allure Salon and was pleasantly surprised that Ann is cutting hair again. Yay, I booked an appointment for a shampoo and wet cut. Ann did a fantastic job of massaging my scalp while washing my hair. I showed her a picture of the approximate length and style and told her I just wanted a wash and wear hair style. She got right to work and worked miracles with my overgrown mop. Yay, I'm sold once again on making Ann my stylist. Since she runs the business side of this company she has decreased her time on being a stylist but I perfectly understand not burning the candle at both ends. I know to schedule six weeks in advance to be sure to get on Ann's schedule. Ann is woohoo as good as it gets when cutting and styling hair!

This hairstyle was my faithful sidekick for an incredible night of fundraising and dancing and my hair looked SENSATIONAL throughout. This was a major event that I spent months working toward and really wanted to look perfect and special for the night. So of course the first appointment I made was getting my hair done with the magical Antonio! Never once was I worried that it would fall apart or come undone (always a concern when doing something different)-- Antonio has normally done blowouts for me when I have a special event but I needed an updo for this particular dress. I wasn't sure what to expect since this was my first time asking him for an updo but holy hell did Antonio deliver. The amount of compliments I received throughout the evening was INSANE and I just felt gorgeous the whole night through. It was perfect! I didn't want to take it out when the night was over! Haven Salon is truly my home for all things self-care and beautifying. Antonio is the only one I trust with my hair cuts and styles. And he always "gets me" and just does wonders for my self-confidence. He's also a joy to spend time with and I always look forward to our conversations and his general positive energy. Also want to take a minute to highlight Julia who does my nails. I have lived in so many major cities - Chicago, Montreal, Toronto and she is honestly the BEST manicurist I have EVER had. Her work is impeccable and she is just so sweet and kind. She's the only one I see for my nails and she never disappoints. (Also, she's introduced me to Dazzle Dry which has been revolutionary in helping my nails look amazing and the color last longer than ever.) Also not to mention their adorable Little Haven which is where I get my daughter's hair cut. It is just the cutest, bubbliest space and my kids always love going to get their hair done for family pictures or cut for their first day of school. And they are just SO good with kids. We actually found Haven Salon because I was looking for a great place to get kid haircuts and the rest is history! (Can't review the kids manis yet cuz their school dress code doesn't allow nail polish but they have been begging to get kid manis so maybe we'll try over holiday break, stay tuned... All in all just a lovely place to have in our neighborhood for all our hair, nail and spa needs. So happy to have found this gem. We love you, Haven Salon and Spa!
