neon signs in a city at night

Stopped here one night while visiting KCMO. Our group decided to check it out as we just stumbled upon the area walking back to the hotel. I wish there was a live band, but there was a DJ on stage. There were a bunch of different bars to choose from. I think it's a little crazy for some of them to offer cover charges, we did not go into those. It's a great concept that I wish could be brought to the area I live in (the weather is not permitting to such a venue).

Low big screen behind Badger fans and PA speakers.

Kansas City was so completely unprepared for Wisconsin coming to town. Leinenkugel's KC put up a valiant effort. But with space for thousands of Badger fans in the complex, attendance pumped up by the following day's Packer/Chiefs game, they could not keep up with the demand for beer and food. There are 31 bars in the area according to the KC Live website, and about a dozen within the confines of this entertainment complex. Maybe 5 were actually open for the Badger game, and every one except Leinenkugel's had 1 bartender. The outdoor bar which could have served the crowd watching on the big screen did not open until the end of the game. In addition, the outdoor stage was set up for an event later that day. While the game was on the screen behind the stage, the screen was half covered by speaker stacks. It wasn't until sometime late in the game where someone thought to raise the screen above all the clutter. I understand it's not the home crowd, but from a business perspective I would have thought they'd have been better prepared for the onslaught of Wisconsin-level partying coming their way. We have to spend money to drink that beer. Especially when Googling "Badger Bars in KC" specifically lists Leinenkugel's as the place to be. This is a great venue, and we had a great time. I'm sure it's an asset to Kansas City. However, we only got to enjoy a fraction of the things offered there and what was available was swamped and we spent much of our time there waiting in line. Thanks to the bartender at the Pizza Bar for doing your best to keep the throng happy. We would have stayed there and watched the game, but not when the jukebox is playing instead of the TV. Although that decision probably shortened the line to the bathroom, which was nice.

The KC live block is so much fun! Lots of restaurants and great bars to hangout at for any mood your in! Want to dance and party hard? Go to Mosaic, PBR, Angels, or Shark Bar. Want to play games and chill? Go to pizza bar, No Other pub, Johnny's or Dubliner.

My wins for this venue are the fact its connected to so many restaurants and bars. That can be great. I enjoyed that I could walk in and out of establishment and order something. We went to see Third Eye Blind. It was nostalgic for us and we figured it'd be an older crowd. We couldn't of been more wrong. I've always been a concert goer so I'm used to being bumped into and having the occasional drink spilled on me, but the level of intoxication for the majority of this very young crowd for 8:30 p.m. was quite surprising. Also you're only supposed to enter the concert with a wristband, but because of the restaurants being connected, so many people walk in that way and no one stops it. Acoustics were fine, not spectacular. I've been to better venues. 3eb was great as always.

With the ability to go bar hopping (alcohol in hand), it's definately a different feeling from Westport or other parts of town.

First Stop for Restaurant Week 2026 This was my first stop…read morefor this year's restaurant week and it didn't disappoint even in the slightest. I had never even heard of Besos y Abrazos but saw that it was very close by and an easy streetcar ride away to Power and Light so, I thought why not? And boy am I glad I took a leap of faith. I was the first person in the restaurant a little past 11am and I came hungry and left very happy. The first thing I had to do was order a before noon cocktail because why not? I have free will. I was torn between the refreshing sangria and the bold booze forward old fashioned so, I went with the old fashioned because if you're going to do it- do it big! The old fashioned here is smoked and made with tequila not whiskey so, it had a different flavor profile. I enjoyed it but I think it would have been even better made with mezcal to further pull out the smoky notes but, I would order it again. Then came my first course, whenever I see shishito peppers on a menu I'm a simple girl I order them. These were delicious, the tangy tajin was plentiful and took them up a notch. These are tied with my favorite shishito peppers I've ever had (the other being at Blue Sushi right across the street). I can't wait to come back and snack on these. Once again, I was happily surprised when I spied octopus in the main entree section because, this is one of my go to proteins to order. If it's not done right it's dismal. This was done flawlessly. The octopus was tender and could be cut with ease, it wasn't rubbery at all and tasted fresh. The polenta added a creamy element and the entire dish was colorful and well composed. I would consider it a must order if you're an adventurous eater. Dessert was also tasty especially since it was dairy free...dairy does tend to upset my tummy so, I gladly gobbled this up. The presentation was class and fun, a parfait in a large cocktail glass- I love! These textures all worked wonderfully together and each bite had something smooth and crunchy and nutty. All in all this meal was a 10/10 I can't wait to go back with my mom and try their brunch because I think she would love the colorful Spanish vibes of this restaurant. What a great addition to Power and Light District Kisses Indeed Mwah!

When we arrived, the hostess was not very friendly and seemed like she did not want to be there. She seated us, and we waited for service while another table that was seated after us had their drink order taken right away by a different waitress. That waitress walked by us without acknowledging us at all, so I asked the hostess if there was only one waitress working because I wanted to make sure we were not being overlooked. The hostess said she was both seating and waitressing, then walked off. She later brought us waters but did not take our drink order or check in with us. After continuing to wait, we decided to leave and went next door instead, where we had a much better experience. It was a really disappointing Mother's Day outing, especially because we had been looking forward to trying this restaurant. Unfortunately, the lack of friendliness, communication, and service made us feel ignored and unwelcome. I do not recommend this restaurant, and we will not be going back.

The food came out piping hot and with the right amount of flavor. The chicken fingers had a great flavor, which complimented well with the honey Dijon mustard. The cheese curds were super cheesy and as long as you ate them right away as with any cheese curds it didn't stiffen up! Per my friend the queso was creamy, her reaction to the full portion coming out was priceless but I couldn't capture that here lol. It came with both tortilla chips and soft flour tortillas. I'd probably leave off the soft flour tortillas because those don't really fit with the idea of dipping into the queso. Our server was A+, very attentive, he kept up pretty well with our table and the others during I'm sure the busiest time with Happy Hour. Kept our water coming, was mindful that Happy Hour would soon be ending and came back by to grab any additional orders which I loved. The ambiance was happy hourish. We were downtown for the New Edition concert. So the crowd was expected but not to loud and rowdy. We were able to walk right in when we arrived due to the time we chose, but noticed the wait forming as we left. We'll definitely be back !! Loved this happy hour.

It's was big and came with fries and a pickle spear. The flavor was good and the portions was a little too much for me but I powered through and conquered that beast. The menu has some really good choices I would recommend trying a couple items to get a better feel of the overall menu choices. Staff: It was late maybe an 1hr before closing time and about 20 of is walked in together. Yup! We were totally those people. Sorry guys, but the staff welcomed it and seated us immediately by placing tables together it was great. Orders were placed and everyone got what they ordered so cheers to the staff on that one. The staff was talkative and thanked us on our way out for stopping by to eat. Great team at this establishment. Atmosphere: It was quiet and I think we were tue only ones in the restaurant but again it was late and last minute. The space definitely looks like sporting events and other televised events could be a really great place to hang out. I don't really know so it may be worth checking it out for yourself. Price: My BBQ pulled Pork Sandwich was about $17 and in my opinion that's really good especially considering the portion size of the sandwich and sides.
