Service was typically Irish slow. Took forever to get seated then once we got seated the only way we were able to get a menu was to go ask for one. The place was loud and had screaming kids running all over. Hours later (maybe not hours) when the food finally arrived, after our bottled juices, it wasn't even that good. My Eggs Benedict was cold and the bagel it was served on was so hard I would have preferred a steak knife to cut it. Both meals had clearly been set on the counter for a while before the waitress brought them over to us. I've lived in Ireland for a year and half now and had heard so much about how great this place was, that I was really expecting more. If this is what people think of as quality food, people have very low ideas on what quality food is. I love, love, love KC peaches - and this one is on the way home for me. It's not self-service like the other KC peaches on Nassau, but the people here are extremely generous with portion sizes. I came here on a Saturday so it was just the brunch menu and the place was very quiet compared to the weekdays when it's really busy during lunch time. I ordered Caesar salad which was ok, the chicken it it tasted pretty good compared to the usual roasted chicken at delis. The omelettes look pretty big and they have a few on the menu in addition to other usuals like sandwiches, eggs Benedict and porridge. There is also a kids menu by the way. The service was a bit slow but the staff were friendly at least. The variety of food is less than than the city centre branches like the one opposite Trinity college and the other on St. Stephen's Green as I would say most businesses around here cater for the working crowd on weekdays, so on weekends there is very limited selection. There is a lot of seating inside, the cafe is kept clean and the prices are pretty average at around €10. Overall, more variety during the busy weekdays but makes for a quiet enough brunch spot on the weekends by the canal. read more

Really cute inside, with a good amount of seating. Average service, you pay at the counter after you eat, which would have been nice to know so we did not sit there for 10 minutes feeling awkward... This is a new place I tried out for lunch today and I really liked it. Form the outside it looks like quite a dark place, but inside it's actually quite pleasant. They have a couple tables outside; you can also eat inside or takeaway. There's a section on the left when you go in with pre made sandwiches, wraps and rolls or alternatively there's a hot counter with things like Shepard's pie, quiche, chicken etc which you can have served with an array of salads. I opted for a take away salad of Chinese chicken and roasted vegetables. I also picked up a little pre packed sushi box too and the total was about €10.50. Ok so the last time I was here the service was a disaster. Gave it another go as every spot deserves a chance! They have a new barista in. The coffee is good. Slightly more bitter than I'd like but it's a combination of the blend and slight burn I think. I don't take milk but he warmed the jug of milk he bright to my table. The other side of that is that it is a waste but hey what cab you do? Then my order of bacon and eggs arrives....with toast. I don't eat toast. I didn't ask for toast. In fact, when he called my order back he said "scrambled egg and toast?" I said no, "scrambled egg and bacon" so it baffles me why there is toast on the plate! Again, wasteful. The cold meats did not whet her appetite, but the salads... Those would do. Carb starved, cash at the ready, the lunch-seeker chose a few scoops of cold pasta salad, wilting leaves and a ladle of tomatoes and olives. "Are you sure you don't want a bit of meat?" asked the pleasant assistant behind the counter. "I feel bad..." "Nay!" she answered, though wondered why anyone would feel bad about a takeaway box of veggies and pasta. She soon found out, as the till blinked €7.00 in icy blue letters. Ah, right. I took a bagel with lox and fruit salad home with me from this place. To loosely paraphrase the great Borat Sagdiyev, wow wow wee waa! They also had some tri-tip on toast with some sort of cheese spread hanging out by the till a la free samples that was fairly wicked. KC Peaches strikes the perfect balance between being a well-run business and still maintaining a genuine, homely coffee shop atmosphere. I first encountered this deli when my company chose them to cater for our lunches for a few months. Their online ordering service made it easy to choose what you wanted and stick to our allocated budget. I was always really impressed by the range of pastas, salads, soups and sandwiches, and everyone soon got to know their favourite menu items. My favourite was the Ballsbridge wrap and the tomato and cheddar soup for a light but satisfying lunch. Since then, I've got to know KC Peaches as an excellent brunch spot. Omelettes, pancakes, and great coffee. The setting is perfect too; sturdy woden tables give it a family feel, and great leather couches are often too inviting to resist for those lazy Sunday reading breaks. The carrot cake is divine! KC Peaches also holds regular wine tastings. I've only been to one but it was great fun! The group is large enough to give the place a good vibe, but small enough to still feel like it could easily be a group of friends having a night in with a few bottles and a good cheeseboard. Katie, the proprietor, is a really lovely lady from Seattle, and always makes everyone feel welcome. At this point she knows us by name and so it really makes the difference to know that you're valued as a customer. For my birthday last month, my colleagues pitched in and got me a cake from here - a deliciously rich chocolate cake with fresh strawberries and marzipan. My absolute favourite! I've been quite a fan of KC peaches for their take away salad - when my office moved back into the area I was happy to have this place nearby, until I went and ate there. I think they may have let their culinary standards slip. My friend and I ordered some hot mains with side salads - mine chicken pie was dry and the pastry hard, my friends main was edible but not very nice, as for one of the sides had such an ill match combination of ingredients it was foul and not possible to eat more than a bite. Finally made it here in person for brunch. Nice big airy space with a few couches and a long counter with high chairs along the front window in addition to several regular tables. I ordered what is typically post drinking medicine - a bacon egg and cheese - but this wasn't a normal bacon egg and cheese. This one was a bacon egg and cheese on steroids - it was huge. Served on yummy Ciabatti, my first bite sent a significant amount of gooey yellow goodness all over my face and hands. The bacon or rashers was some of the best that I have ever had - not only was the amount vast, but it had a slight smokiness that was the perfect foil to the perfectly cooked eggs. I was so consumed by my brunch I did not notice what anyone else in the restaurant was eating. I look forward to going back and seeing what else they have. read more

A welcome new edition to the Dublin foodscape. Reasonably priced, bright, clean and modern. The food is tasty and wholesome (I had the vegetarian chili with rice, which was a bit dry). The layout is a bit confusing though, its not clear whether you can combine options - as there are about three different counters, with hand-written signs stating how much a small/med/large plates cost. It was a busy Saturday afternoon so we went upstairs to eat. The tables were pretty dirty, a waitress came along after a while to clear away the initial abandoned plates, but the remainder sat there for the duration of our stay (about 40m). There was also a workman and possibly some managers on laptops/fitting fixtures which was slightly distracting. The upstairs seating area is absolutely roasting hot, and could benefit from the addition of some air conditioning. Also the tap water that was available in the attractive glass bottles was tepid, some ice would go a long way. That being said, if they can work on these glitches, I would come back. read more

There's no doubt the food at KC Peaches is top quality. My gripe is the fluctuating price of food from week to week. I have noticed that my regular purchase fluctuates dramatically in price. A main and side-salad could be priced anywhere between €5.50 and €8.50. Frustration is heightened when the staff themselves don't seem to know what you should be paying or what to do when the pricing problem is pointed out. Any time I noted a fluctuation for the same product I was told that today's price was the correct one. Presumably as a result of this irritating problem KC have cleaned up their pricing board and now boast "We hope you like our new Pricing Structure". Last week I was charged €5.50 for a take-away lunch of quiche and a side salad. Today the exact same take-away lunch cost me €7.50. When challenged I was again told that today's price was correct. Clear as mud. Very poor pricing and untrained staff leave a sour taste. read more

First the good stuff - Large selection of salads and hot food, really good sandwiches. You can fill a box from the selection with either hot or cold food. I really like being able to see and choose my own food as I have some allergies. I love the California chicken - really tasty. They also do some really nice baked goods and have a few delicious gluten free cakes. And then the not so good - The food is very badly labeled, some days there are no labels on the salads so you are poking around trying to figure out what's in it, some days they are labeled but often vague or wrong - as someone allergic to peanuts it's a bit unnerving. Secondly the queue systems drives me mental - it's so disorganized and there are people standing in line in front of the salad bar so you have to squeeze by to try and get your food - if the place is super busy I usually leave read more

This is a really good place for brunch and the full breakfast is decently priced. The coffee also deserves a mention as it's top notch. There's plenty of space, with sofas and a bench by the window which is great for people watching. I've met friends here before and even had a very successful date, when only hot drinks were involved. But I tried some of their food yesterday, and it wasn't up to scratch. I came in at 2:30 with a friend and bought a salmon cake and spiced couscous side. The fishcake was tough and dry, and the couscous was too raw-oniony for me. The chai on the side was gorgeous, though, and the jazz over the speakers was 100% suited to my tastes as well as the atmosphere. For fishcake, heaps of couscous and a small chai, I paid €9. A good price generally for lunch, but this meal wasn't worth it. As for "waiter service," you do order at a counter, but if it's not too busy they bring your hot drinks to your table. At peak times they just call out the name of the drink. All in all, I like the place and love the coffees, but having had my first food there for the first time yesterday I'd advise steering away from the mains kept in the cold displays next to the salads. No judgement on the warming-lamp food or sandwiches yet. read more

We went here for lunch. It is lovely inside bright clean and well laid out. There are tables outside if you can cope with the noise of Pearse Street. We had chicken (very dry) and salmon (very dry) the salad was okay but I have had better...much better. I treated myself to a Chocolate Brownie and I have to say it was the worst I have ever tasted. KC Peaches is a nifty little place which happens to be right next door to a seminar I attend once a week, making it my ideal beverage/pastry stop. The staff here are top-notch. They are very friendly and joke around with me as I order my usual London Fog (earl grey tea with steamed milk and a vanilla shot) and Chocolate Chip and Orange muffin. The usuals are fantastic. The Fog is a luxurious, specialty drink for a blustery day, and the staff are always very careful to ask me exactly how I like mine made. ("Would you like one or two vanilla shots today?") The Chocolate Chip and Orange muffin cannot be beat. The cake is moist and the flavoring is perfect - it is barely orange scented, just adding a little hint of extra taste to complement the chocolate chips without ending up like a Jaffa Cake. That being said, it is definitely a bit pricey and if you come in anytime near lunch or dinner, you are in for a bit of shoving and shuffling. There is an express till that never seems to be in use and, as I come in just for a pre-made muffin and a drink during the lunch rush (it can't be helped) I have to wade through a sea of eager people being served at the salad station and ordering hot food just to pay for mine. A little more finesse at the tills is in order. I have only tried the hot food once, but did not find it to be anything special. I will continue to collect stamps on my pastry/coffee loyalty card, but I doubt I'll be sitting in for a meal anytime soon. Great price, and you can ask to mix the salads on the plate- as many as you'd like! - great variety of food: tons of salads, bulgar, chickpea, chicken, broccoli, pasta, etc. they also offer baked chicken and fish, and other hot dishes. I had the beef stew and it was excellent. Just like we make back home in Texas. Tender beef, great flavor! The pork belly was tender and had good flavor. Pretty trimmed too for being what it was. The sides today were kinda gross but that's ok. Tiramisu was so delicious. Loved it! The strawberry cheesecake wasn't bad but wasn't full of flavor either. Very busy atmosphere. Great place to go if you're looking for a takeaway salad box on the cheap. It's self-serve and you can get away with jamming so much into their Small sized boxes that you come away with more than your money's worth! There's an ample selection of salad ingredients too, which is always nice. Just be sure to go before or after the mad lunchtime rush or you could be waiting in line for aaages as people try to decipher between all those salad choices!.. One thing I will say though, is that while the food is really good value, the drinks do not come as cheap. Fair enough they have to make a profit somewhere after the amazing deal that they offer with the food, but my recommendation for those tight on moolah would be to eat here and get your hot beverage of choice somewhere else. read more

Since the last review, I've discovered a closer branch of KCP on my weekend ramblings (the one on Dame St)...and I have upped the score because they make such a great flat white (with almond milk). It's the best I have tasted in Dublin! They have even made me an iced version (despite it not being on the menu) and that was also awesome. I have also since tried many of their salads and enjoyed all of them (half the fun is trying to see how much you can cram into the small box!) It's not all praise however, I have noticed that the plates and cutlery and glasses are not as clean as they should be, tut tut. Finally it would be great if they offered gluten free bread and more gluten free cake options. The cakes that I have tried have all been too sweet for me. read more

I've been here twice now and the first time was a total delight- a laid back weekend brunch, food was delicious and service (albeit a bit slow- they were pretty busy) was friendly and helpful. The second time I went for what I'd hoped would be a bit of a 'spoil-myself' weekday lunch and was really disappointed. I went in for about 1:30/2pm- not totally out of the realms of normal lunch hours and there was almost nothing left-none of the specials or meal options were available, I ended up with a sandwhich but asked if I could add some chicken to it- apparently this was not possible and the staff made it pretty clear they thought my request was unreasonable. Really nice place with two much coveted pink couches to sit on! Midweek they open from 8am - 8pm and on weekends it's earlier - around 4pm I think and they open a little later too. All food is freshly prepared in their kitchen (which you can see into from the front) and all ingredients are sourced locally and organically. They offer a full range of excellent tea/coffee/hot drinks and a made to order brunch menu on Sundays. The deli includes a wide range of tasty and seasonal salads and also a hot food counter which includes great homey dinners for those who enjoy a good meal but don't have time to cook. Popped in for coffee and breakfast the other morning. Picked up a granola pot....it was truly yucky. The granonla was not good quality and was sitting on top of the yoghurt so it was completely soggy, also there was, wait for it, JAM, yes JAM, it said it on the label at the bottom of the yoghurt- now normally its a beautiful fruit compote or at least some version of, but JAM?? An outrage!! Nice restaurant in a bizarre place on busy Pearse Street. They used to open quite late but it may be worthwhile checking this as the last time I tried going there later than 6 or 7, they were already closed. If you work nearby though they do nice lunch and I can definitely recommend the New York-style Sunday brunch. Had a fab salmon bagel with capers. The seating was grand when we went in but it wasn't lunch time, I do walk by on occasions and it does be jammed. I haven't much to say about this as we were only in and out really quick for a quick coffee break.
