Felix's Kitchen is a long-time dream come true of my friend, Felix. He's always loved food more than the average person does (I transported 10 lbs of roast pork for him from Seattle when I visited). The food here is probably best described as fusion BBQ (sliders, burgers) with Asian influence (specifically Southeast Asian). Although the menu varies, you can count on the delicious pork and chicken sliders to be there, they're the stars of the show (in my opinion). I'm a huge fan of the pork slider. The meat is tender, well marinated and perfectly grilled. The chicken slider is also delicious, but I generally prefer pork over chicken anyway. I kinda wish the slider would come with a little bit of slaw, pickled vegetables or something to balance the richness of the barbecue sauce. The spring rolls are really not rolls. They're flat "pouches" of ground meat, spices and herbs. If you're from Southeast Asia, you may recognize this as martabak, a popular snack in Indonesia and Malaysia (typically served with a curry sauce in Malay). Felix has a bubbly personality that puts everyone at ease and makes you feel like you're his friend already from the moment you meet him. When I dropped by Felix's Kitchen, it was at KCMoto in Adrian. The food came out fast even though there's only two people working the truck (they were immediately sold out of burgers, that's how busy it was). The food is fresh, simple and filling, easily consumed on the go. Check out Felix's Kitchen and when they're not busy, ask Felix or Ariel how they came to this idea.

Had some Asian fusion tacos here before a Sporting KC game recently. I enjoyed the tacos, full of…read moremeat, veggies and some spicy sauce, although they were a tad greasy on the bottom. Two of my kids had the fried rice and said it was good, but again, a tad greasy. I tried a bite and they were right. I'd still come back to this food truck if they were in the parking lot again. Still better than having the (way greasy) pizza inside the stadium or the way overpriced burgers which were dry and non appealing last time I was there. Food trucks won out on this day!
