    We have a new Service Writer, his name is Jeff L. He was super busy when I arrived for my recall service and regular service appointment on 2/11/26. It was a rainy Wednesday morning at 9a the line for intake was packed. The man with the intake tablet came to my car and he said his tablet was broken so that someone else would be out to help me. I waited 20 mins without anyone coming. I was thinking about work, and my team had started to reach out to me for things. I got out of my vehicle and Jeff was intaking the vehicle behind mine. I asked him, "Is anyone going to help me? I had an appointment at 9a." And Jeff immediately said, "Yes absolutely, I will be right with you, sorry for the wait." As soon as he was done with the vehicle intake behind me, he asked me to come inside with him. I noticed that the first dude with the tablet was now able to do intake and his tablet was working now. Jeff was so customer service oriented. He asked me what my appt was for and he was able to call up my vehicle account. He found my appointment and also asked me what issues I mat have been experiencing. I told him and he was very attentive to listening to me. He advised me that he would order an Uber for me so that I could get to work, and he did. Jeff stayed in touch with me about my vehicle's issues and needs. I felt like he really cared about getting me back on the road safely. I appreciated his great customer service and we have decided that he is our new service writer after this whole experience. They kept my car for 16 days to take care of everything that needed attention, all the while my powertrain warranty covered the rental car. Jeff returned my car in great condition and it actually drives much better and the engine sounds better. I recommend this Ford Dealer Service location.

    The level of Customer Service I get from Kearny, Mesa Ford is beyond anyone's expectations. My service advisor ALISHA. Is on the ball, very courteous, very thorough, answers text and questions I have pretty quickly. I was worried about getting my tires rotated, thinking they were going to put fingerprints all over them and she assured me that they wear gloves and she also spoke to them. I am extremely pleased and I am a customer for life. thank you so much ALISHA and Kearny, Mesa Ford.

    Here I am, didn't think I'd come to see if I'd leave with a new car or not. I understand how their business works. They do their best to make sure you leave with a new car. However when they ran my numbers, i wasn't happy. When they saw I wasn't interested, they kept trying to make a better deal. It's a challenge to negotiate. But I would t recommend going in there without being prepared to spend several hours, a decent down payment, and improving your credit score. The people are really nice, the service they are trying to provide is top notch. I'd recommend going with someone who has a back hand experience in buying cars. I'm not saying they will take advantage but they are really trying their best to get you in a truck or car. I wanted a specific car, but they didn't have a lot of choices for what I wanted.

    I'm slappin myself that I keep giving Kearny Mesa Ford second chances, because every visit reinforces the same conclusion: this place simply cannot get out of its own way. First, the one and only disclaimer: Sarah P. (service writer) appears to be the ONLY competent employee I've ever encountered here. She is the singular exception to what is otherwise a pattern of chronic internal chaos. Last year, they botched my service after I brought my own oil. I made the mistake of brushing it off. This year, I tried again and booked a 12:30 p.m. service appointment--this time through text, because the appointment clerk was so incompetent I could tell they were probably going to screw up the appointment. When I arrived today, they claimed they had no record of the appointment. Fortunately, I had the text confirmation as proof. Instead of starting on time, everything was delayed, which of course meant everything finished late. While my car was being serviced, I received an unsolicited offer from their used-car buyer. I politely declined. In return, Dalila unbelievably proceeded to mock me and antagonize me about what price I would sell for--despite the fact that (1) I wasn't selling, (2) I love my car, and (3) Ford will never make this model again. Her comment asking if my car was "made of gold" was wildly unprofessional. See screenshot. Add to that: * Ongoing scheduling confusion by the staff, * A service tech forgetting to put my registration renewal sticker on the windshield, and * The memory of last year when they forgot to put the coolant cap back on and I had to refill the coolant and order a new coolant cap. I don't understand why I keep giving KM Ford multiple opportunities to get it right. Every visit, I think maybe this time will be different. Every visit, they seem to try to hardest to prove it won't be. Two stars instead of 1 because Sara Pounds deserves 5 stars.

    Thank you Eric and Tyler for the amazing work and deal you guys were able to get me on my Bronco Raptor. For everybody seeing this review this is my second vehicle being purchased through Kearny Mesa and with Eric and both times he make the experience amazing. There's no BS there's straight shooters and try to make the deals happen. What's the vehicle's pick your literally in and out of the door within 30 minutes. Again thank you Eric for another great vehicle I will for sure come back when I'm ready to purchase another.

    The Worst, Most Dishonest Dealership I've Ever Encountered. Absolute Scam Artists. Let me be crystal clear: this place is a scam factory disguised as a dealership. What happened to us here isn't just bad service, it's straight up predatory behavior. My girlfriend brought our 2017 Kia Optima Hybrid in with ONE issue. One. We told them EXACTLY what was wrong: P0036, rear O2 sensor. We literally said, "We already have the code. We just need the O2 sensor replaced." But apparently that wasn't good enough for the clowns running Kearny Mesa Kia's service department. They insisted on running their own "full diagnostic," acting like it was some mystical, 32-step, NASA level process. My girlfriend struggles with on the spot anxiety, so rather than stress her out, I agreed. Then I dropped her off at work, parked from a distance, and watched. And guess what their "comprehensive diagnostic procedure" was? They plugged in a handheld OBD scanner. Moved the car five feet. Parked it. AND CALLED IT A DAY. No lift. No physical inspection. No testing. No technician actually doing technician things. Just a dude with a scanner and the confidence of someone robbing you in broad daylight. Then they had the NERVE to send an $810.54 estimate for a single O2 sensor. They tried to charge: $284.94/hr for labor $290.66 for a part that literally costs $80-$110 everywhere else PLUS over $300 in unrelated upsells we never asked for They didn't just inflate the price, they carpet bombed it. Oh when we questioned where the price came from, our awesome sales tech managed to throw in a 15% off DISCOUNT. SOOOO NICE OF HER TO DO THAT. Why wasn't that the original price in the first place? These people just tried to suck up as much money as possible. This dealership preys on vulnerable customers. They bank on people being too stressed, too anxious, or too inexperienced to fight back. They lie about what they're doing, perform the bare minimum (if that), and then hand you a fantasy land bill padded with nonsense services. It is dishonest, unethical, and embarrassing for a brand representing Kia. If you value your money, your time, or your sanity, you should avoid this dealership like it's toxic waste. There are honest mechanics in San Diego, this is not one of them. Kearny Mesa Kia Congratulations!!!!!! You've earned the title of the most blatantly untrustworthy service department I've ever dealt with. This is why people warn their friends not to step foot in dealerships. Do better. Or at least pretend you're trying.

I specifically asked about the possibility of waiving the diagnostic fee for an obvious stolen converter and requested a callback so I could confirm before driving in. She confirmed from Brian that it was a possibility. The receptionist assured me Brian would call that day. He never did. I waited through the weekend and called again on Monday (the day of my scheduled appointment). Crystal was helpful and transferred me to the service manager, Wendy because Brian was again not available. I explained the full situation, including the multiple broken callback promises. Wendy immediately said there was no possibility of waiving the diagnostic fee, directly contradicting what I had been told earlier. She also did not apologize the multiple non call backs. Wendy needs some actual training on how to fix issues that occur in her service department. This felt like a clear bait-and-switch. I was given the impression that the diagnostic fee might be waived in order to get me to make an appointment, only to be told the opposite once I had already waited days and followed up multiple times. The lack of communication was also very poor. I will be going elsewhere for service. Potential customers should be aware of this experience before trusting this dealership with their vehicle.

    Worst service center experience I've ever had…read more I drive a Hyundai Ioniq 5 and recently received a "Check Electric Vehicle System" warning. I brought my vehicle to Kearny Mesa Hyundai for service, and it took nearly 10 days just for a technician to assess the car. I was eventually told that the high-voltage battery needed to be replaced. When I was notified that my vehicle was ready for pickup, I arrived at the dealership and was shocked by the condition of my car. It was completely covered in bird droppings. I pointed this out to the employee who brought out the vehicle, and I was told that they do not have covered parking and do not wash customer vehicles. Luckily, my service advisor overhead how upset I was and eventually helped to clean the vehicle. The condition in which my vehicle was returned was unacceptable and extremely unprofessional. Other customers walking by were visibly shocked and even commented on how disgusting the car looked. I have attached photos documenting the condition of the vehicle at pickup. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend avoiding this service center.

KM is now under their ownership and this dealership brings with it all aspects of shady and terrible practices. I'll try my best to condense this but its a lot to cover. DO NOT take your vehicle to be serviced here DO NOT work with their slimy salespeople DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT consider one of their "certified" pre-owned vehicles SERVICE:After over a decade of being a VW customer at this location (see former glowing review), I can tell you this is not the same dealership and I was pretty blindsided in discovering this. I've tried to shop around for other mechanics but having a German diesel vehicle has pretty much priced me locked in for services and I liked having all work history at a location. So I did a major service again. 2 Months later, a major fuel-related issue happened while entering the freeway....twice. Given the proximity to the service, it was understandable for me to think 'maybe the tech did something wrong, and quickly brought it in for diagnosis. Without barely looking at it, I was told to replace the in-fuel (low pressure) fuel pump. I was also told the 'good news' there was no metal debris present. I was told this fixes it 90% of the time. Then 30 mins later I was texted again, didn't fix it, we now have to replace the high pressure fuel pump "and see." I stopped all work on it and was now out $850. We carefully drove the car home where it's sat in the garage as I weighed my options. Well guess what? A very kind, diesel expert mechanic was able to come for a house call second opinion. He spent about 5 mins unscrewing the cap of the fuel filter (one of the items I just replaced) and there are metal shards. The car is done. The entire fuel system is lost. And the VW tech stated no metal was found and to just go ahead and replace the HPFP (a job they list as about $5k). Their expert best tech either didn't check a very basic thing, or straight up lied to get me to pay for a replacement that would have failed from a compromised system. VW corporate: This is a very big deal. I am hoping you are paying attention. This is a soon to be BBB claim. SALES: On the day I was told my car needed the HPFP replaced (before learning about the metal in the system) , I considered the option of getting a certified pre-owned electric car that had just come in. It was truly a casual inquiry. The salesman was friendly and down to earth, and shared that if we wanted to put down a deposit, no one else could consider the car (which seemed to be a rare inventory). It still needed to be serviced and cleaned, so I went ahead and did that just to secure a first look. Again, this was a casual inquiry and the friendly guy said "no pressure, if you change your mind you get the deposit back." This returned lease started to rub me the wrong way. In only 2 years it had 42,000 miles on it and it was returned extremely dirty. Carfax showed it was never brought in for service nor recalls corrected. I expressed my concerns and the sales guy just saw dollar signs of a deposit on the car and thought I committed. I wanted to see how it was cleaned up. They rushed everything with that guy seeing it as a done deal. We came in and immediately I saw coffee stains still on the armrest. Couldn't even clean it. The display screen was massively delayed on touch, the compartments abused. When we returned to the lot, the child lock was turned on for the back seat and wouldn't unlock. The guy laughed it off and said something about it being quirky. Was he this oblivious? Smiling, he asked if I was paying cash or wanted to finance. I told him I was not buying this car. Suddenly his demeanor completely changed and he decided to try some gender biased guilt trip on me... "Did I do something wrong? My manager is telling me he thinks I did something wrong." What kind of awful sales tactic is this? I felt like I was on a 2nd tinder date with someone who had no awareness. "Why did you come back then?" He demanded. Um... to get my $1,000 deposit back? Then the uncomfortable trying to sweat us out with waiting and returning with more terrible offers for a defective used car. It probably took 30 minutes to finally get my card refunded. I contacted the service manager about my experience (again, this was before finding out there is metal all over the fuel system) and their new young service manager has zero customer service skills or empathy. He ignored emails and blew me off after initiating another call. I filled out the service survey (they try to guilt you into giving them 5 stars for everything regardless of your experience) and said I wanted to be contacted in follow-up, and nothing. I contacted VW CARE with a thoughtfully written email and was replied to with a no subject canned response blowing me off. VW: You have clearly learned nothing from Dieselgate.

My 2020 Kia with just 47k miles (2nd owner) suffered a catastrophic engine failure, a known issue. To be clear, the service representative was courteous and stated he advocated on my behalf. Despite providing maintenance records, I was accused of improper maintenance, and the service department, the district manager and KIA corporate denied any goodwill coverage while presenting a $12,000 engine replacement quote as my only option. My vehicle was at Kia Kearny Mesa for 3 months. As a repeat Kia customer, even a partial goodwill offer would have acknowledged both the issue and customer loyalty, but no such effort was made. There was no meaningful advocacy, no clear explanation for the denial beyond the maintenance allegation, and no attempt to reach a reasonable resolution. After reviewing the final invoice and photos, my independent mechanic advised that the diagnostic charges and proposed engine teardown costs appeared excessive and inconsistent with Bureau of Automotive Repair guidance. This further confirmed my decision not to proceed with repairs through the dealership. If you are considering Kia for long-term ownership, be aware that repeat customers appear to receive little consideration when serious mechanical issues arise. This experience permanently ended my relationship with Kia.

Car buying is stressful, and at that critical moment when the deal starts getting rocky, and anxiety goes up, the dealers were able to walk us on target and explain everything we were paying for, they spent extra time with us to make sure we were comfortable with the deal. They threw in a super great warranty as well, giving us the peace of mind that we are going to be ok for the long term. And they even did some jiu-jitsu to get us a lower rate in the end. We walked away with a 5.65% apr. and the car is super clean and fun to drive! So if you're still reading, I'm just saying all in all very decent car buying experience. Without hesitation, I can say that Miramar Motorsports is one of the most professional, organized, and customer-focused dealerships I have ever worked with anywhere in the country. Miramar Motorsports is a family-owned business, and we had the pleasure of working directly with Ali and Mike. From start to finish, they were friendly, knowledgeable, honest, and genuinely committed to providing an exceptional customer experience. They made us feel valued throughout the entire process. The Toyota Sequoia we purchased was exactly as advertised and in outstanding condition. What really impressed me was the level of care and attention they put into preparing their vehicles. Their in-house mechanics thoroughly serviced the vehicle using quality replacement parts. Since the mileage was approaching the manufacturer's recommended timing belt service interval, they proactively replaced the timing belt and addressed other important maintenance items at the same time. They also replaced the water pump, front brakes, and rotors, ensuring the vehicle was ready for years of reliable service. Another thoughtful touch was that they had the catalytic converter stamped for identification purposes in the event it is ever stolen.
