Up until a few months ago, I would've given them a 3 or 4 stars. I bought my Volt there several years ago, and had always serviced the car there, despite the very high dealership service charges. I had been having a couple of minor intermittent issues with the car and wanted them to do a diagnostic on it. So I set up an appointment and got one set up for two weeks later. In the following two weeks, I got 2 email reminders about the appointment, including the day before. The morning of the appointment, after my partner re-arranged his work schedule to bring the car in, they wouldn't take it in. Said they don't take in Volts anymore because of the difficulty in getting parts for it. It's bad enough for a dealership to not be willing to service a car of its own make. But they couldn't let me know over the phone before I made the appointment? Or called me and cancelled the appointment the day before? To top it off, I got an email a couple days later, saying that I missed my appointment. So why wait a few months to leave this review? Because they just called me a couple of days ago, saying that it's time for me to schedule a service! I know people who can get their Mazda and Ford dealerships to service their 20+ and 40+ year old cars. And this Chevy dealership won't service a less than 10 year old car. I guess they (and GM) don't want my next car purchase. read more

I had a very disappointing experience here. Giovanni was my service advisor. When I arrived, I stood awkwardly in the Service Advisor area while multiple advisors sat at their desks and completely ignored me. Eventually, someone acknowledged me, but it was without any friendliness, professionalism, or even a simple smile. I immediately felt like I was an inconvenience rather than a valued customer. The original issue I came in for was a recall related to the battery issue. This should have only taken about an hour. I dropped my car off at 7:30am with a scheduled appointment at 9am. I received a text at 8:10am for updates but never heard anything else through that channel. I didn't get a call when my car was completed or any real communication at all. The advisor claims he left a voicemail, but I have no missed calls or voicemails from Kearny Mesa Chevy. I even replied to the text at 4:50pm and didn't receive a response until the following day. They had my direct phone number and yet only made one attempt all day to reach me. Because of this lack of communication, my car sat there overnight unnecessarily. On top of this, I specifically asked about paint chipping around my headlight, which is a well-documented issue with C8 Corvettes due to headlight misalignment rubbing against the bumper. I just purchased this vehicle on 8/31/25, from a Chevrolet dealer in Florida. Despite being a recent Chevy customer with a very expensive vehicle and a known manufacturer defect, the advisor showed zero interest in helping me or even attempting to address the concern. The fix is as simple as adding spacers to the headlight assembly, but they wouldn't even do that, let alone acknowledge or repair the paint damage. The overall attitude was dismissive and unhelpful, leaving me with the clear impression that they had no desire to assist me. For Chevrolet to allow this level of indifference toward a customer, especially with a known issue, is unacceptable. The headlight misalignment causing paint damage is not just a minor annoyance, it's a design flaw that should be addressed through a recall. Between the poor communication on the recall service and the unwillingness to acknowledge or fix a manufacturer defect, Chevy has sent me a very clear message: they do not care about their customers. From Kearny Mesa Chevy's lack of basic service courtesy all the way up to the refusal to address the C8 Corvette paint defect, this experience has been terrible all the way around. Wow, a lot of Yelpers complaiing about the KM service department! Their Chevy vehicles can be serviced at other dealers for warranty work or at other vendors for maintenance. My review is about sales consultant Mustafa Adalat, "Moose". I found him to be very generous with his time explaining the features and functions of the Colorado pickup truck I was interested in. He is a very knowedgeable about his trucks, for sure ! He offered me a test drive, but I was short on time and promised to visit him for the drive at a later date.. I have been a rather discerning car buyer over the years and have found far too many insufferable car sales personnel. Moose was just the opposite. Although I left the dealership without buying, Moose and his beautiful Colorado pickup trucks are now on my short list. If a Colorado is in my future, I will make an appointment with Moose to complete the transaction. I recommend him highly. One last remark: There is an almost overwhelming number of new vehicles all over the lot at KM Chevrolet. So many so that I, as a potential buyer, had an extremelty difficult time finding a place to park my own car so that I could look at the new vehicles. Kind of ironic. And perhaps indicative of the poor management that allows the service department to frustrate so many Yelpers. read more

I want to start by mentioning that I was going back and forth between two local dealerships, one of which was Kearney Mesa (KM). I was in the market for a Silverado and found two at similar price points online. I visited both dealerships, test drove both trucks, and it basically came down to the numbers. If you look at KM Chevy's website, their price and the discounts are pretty straight forward, same for the other dealership, but KM was offering an a $4000 as a manager special, in addition to GM incentives. The other dealership (MB) advertised a "manager special" but it was basically the GM incentives plus $500 from the dealership. I was also trading in a 21' Ford Ranger and was looking to get as close to the KBB trade-in value as possible. Long story short, Kearney Mesa was able to offer me more for my trade and provide more incentives and discounts then the MB dealership. In total Kearney Mesa saved me around $8500 more than MB was offering. Not that it plays a huge roll in my decision making, but I think it's important to mention that the customer service at Kearney Mesa was top notch. I feel like the employees at KM are customer service employees, where at the other dealership (MB) they felt more like salesmen if you know what I mean. Everyone at Kearney Mesa was polite, friendly, and courteous to any one that walked in. My agent was Alexis and Uriel, I had two because I looked at the car one day and bought it the next. Ross was the finance guy I worked with, he was great and straight forward, no pressure to buy a bunch of extra warranties and protection, although I did. Overall, great experience with Kearney Mesa Chevrolet. I would highly recommend them to anyone in San Diego County looking for a new car. read more

The communication between Kearny Mesa Chevrolet Service and me was unsatisfactory. Despite reminding them to include the tire rotation part of the complimentary service on the ticket, I received the vehicle without it being done. Kearny Mesa Chevrolet has yet to respond to my inquiries. I took my 2025 Blazer EV for the first complimentary service, which is covered by Chevrolet. The service included a multipoint inspection and tire rotation. Greg did not write the tire rotation on the paperwork, and I reminded him about it via text message. He assured me that it would be done. When my wife picked up the car, I reviewed the paperwork and noticed that the tire rotation was not included. I texted Greg about this, but he has not responded. This experience was a significant mistake. The communication was poor from the beginning, whether verbal or delayed. The communication was also condescending at times. Despite this being my first visit to their service department and my first time owning a Chevrolet, I had a miserable experience. Now, I have to waste additional time to take the car to Costco to rotate the tires, as Costco only rotates non-Costco tires for a reasonable price. read more

On March 21, 2026 I flew to Kearny Mesa Chevrolet to purchase a vehicle. I worked with salesperson Hannah Sauceda, and after inspecting the car we negotiated and agreed on a final total "out-the-door" price. However, once I was in the finance office, the contract did not reflect the agreed price. Instead, it listed the out-the-door price plus an additional $5,000 down payment, something that was never agreed to. When I raised the issue, a meeting was held with Hannah and sales manager Arnie Romer, I was told they could not sell the car at the agreed out-the-door price, even though that was the deal we had just made. When I asked Hannah to confirm our agreement, she would not respond. Attempting to add $5,000 after agreeing to an out-the-door price is highly deceptive, and what was most telling is that neither the salesperson nor the sales manager offered any apology. I highly do not recommend this place. We talked to Mustafa he was a really cool salesman but didn't have any pull with his manager. Every time he tell us he would talk to his manager about a deal the answer was always no. We drove two hours to look at a suv and I watched the manager talk to his salesman from the car not once did he get out to talk to us like our money wasn't good enough. Then they ran our credit three times to get a purchase order we never got. Called us a hour later saying the car was sold. Whatever you do don't tell them you have a loan already they don't like it. I came in with my husband to buy a new truck. Originally, we were planning on trading in our 2022 Colorado but somehow, in a period of about six months or less, it depreciated by a whooping $7K! We had brought it for inspection to sell six months ago or so and they offered us $1K more than what it was worth... but anyway. That is a story for a different day! Because I had done through BK the truck was to be on my husband's name only. I've worked in lending and finance. I know that his business is his only as long as my name is not on the title. However, my husband has never bought a car on his own. I was trying to explain some facts to him when it comes to buying a vehicle. In fact, I did most of the "dealing" per se. He just signed. Originally, we were going to downgrade for a used truck to lower the monthly payment and get more space. However, the stock was limited. They continued to push a previously used courtesy vehicle or something alone those lines but we did not want that truck. It was not within our budget and it was just not what my husband wanted. I had to tell that specific manager that he DID NOT WANT THAT TRUCK. Period. He seemed upset. Even the salesman was questioning the price of the vehicle because salesman showed us the price online and it was $41K total whereas this manager (we will call him manager one) said it was a little over $43K. He was also so upset the salesman was questioning him. That situation was odd in its own. After that, manager one did not come in to the room anymore. We were looking at the numbers for a used vehicle but thankfully manager two came into the room. He was wearing suit and tie attire so I knew it was something serious. I simply though my husband did not qualify. However, he came and told us: look, you're about to spend more on an used truck than a brand new one. We looked into a brand new 2023 Silverado and the numbers were, in fact, very similar. The difference was about $200 from what we pay now so we did the deal. Manager two was simply looking out for us. I was blindsided because we had no money for a down payment but he made it work. My husband got a brand new truck with much more space and no down payment. We were all happy! I had to leave and I told the salesman: hey, my husband will not say no but please only sell him GAP. He doesn't need anything else. He simply said: that's up to him. Knowing that he was going to pursue him... and he did unfortunately. The payment went up by about $100 extra a month. I will admit, that is my husband's fault though. He simply does not know how to say NO. Overall, my experience here was pleasant. I wish it would've taken less time (husband spend about seven hours there). But I do recommend! read more

I think this dealer is a total bs and people working there are not professionals. So Sunday we went there for a test drive for a 2026 Tahoe. Right from start our sales rep, Genesis, was cold and not very interested in dealing with customers. It feels like she just happened to be there. Anyway, after test drive we went inside negotiate for a while and at the end come to some terms and a deal. They told me the car will go under PDI Monday early morning and we will pick it up Monday night around 7pm. On Monday afternoon, I got a call from sales rep stating there has been some damage to the car. For doing ceramic coating, they need to remove the Tahoe letters at the back of the car and while doing so, one of the technician dented and chipped the surface very bad. It is a quarter size and there were a couple of scratches as well. She said, oh we will paint it for you. You can come and pick it up now and later you can schedule a service for free. I said that car is not new anymore, either gave me a discount or a new car. I said even if everything was ok, after turning the corner of the dealer garage, I will loose 7-8k in value but having a dent or chipped panel will not reduce the value she says. She said that they will not report to carmax so the car is technically brand new. Sales rep said we will help you, just come to the office. We went there around 6:30 pm and again waited for 20-25 minutes just to hear that they can not reduce the price to what I am asking for. And Quickly said goodbye. Today, after going all these through - Sunday 4 hours - Monday 2 hours, the store managers call me to say sorry and offer to help. Of course this is another sales tactic as he does not specify the "help". I declined it respectfully and closed it. So Chevy if you are reading this, you should close this business or take the license away. If you are buyer, take your car to a 3rd party licensed shop as the first thing to see what they have done to your 'brand new' car. And if they did not share it with you, you know what to do! But really, avoid making business with this dealership. read more

Brought 2024 Silverado LTZ 6.2 truck in 9:30 AM for appointment to do first service at 6200 miles, Afternoon at 2:30, I call to check status as it's been a while to do an oil change. He say 20 minutes it will be done, long time but ok I can pick up. When I Get there, Then find out they haven't even started oil change or recall, he tells me it wasn't any hurry being dropped off. It seems Making an appointment with ride somehow says. It's no hurry and not a priority and feel free to waste my time. Now Sitting here in dealership 45 minutes waiting for the actual oil change, oh by the way. We have no time to handle recall due to time constraints. I guess 6 hours wasn't enough time. Truck was done and I noticed my tires were not rotated I knew because I had a big scratch on my rear tire, when I got it back that same wheel was still in the same spot. I confronted them and they said they did rotated the tires which was a lie, they took it back and did the rotation. The service guy told me that they didn't do the rotation because it was not needed but they were still going to charge me the rotation. 10 days later I started smelling coolant and surprised the coolant cap was off the reservoir I guess the tech was trying to retaliate because he got caught. It's taken me months to consider going to another Chevy dealership but I'm glad I gave KM Chevy a chance. The gentleman I worked with was polite and respectful and thorough. He asked all the questions and waited for responses and gave me feedback on concerns and next steps. I was there on a lightly busy day but there was a waiting area with a TV, pub height tables and seating and lower lounge seats. I discovered they are dog-friendly which is good to know because next time I might need to bring one of my four-legged baby girls to accompany me. There were several people waiting for their cars but the service center was clearly on top of things because it moved quickly. When my car was ready he came and found me in the waiting area. He went through each line item and rang in the coupon code I had and gave me my bill and sent me on my way. Two weeks later, car is running great and driving great. I'm happy. read more

Terrible customer service. From buying a car to scheduling an oil change this place does nothing but disappoint. When my wife and I went in to buy a car, the finance guy slipped a warranty into our contract that we did not agree on. We had to go through a whole fiasco just to get them to take it off and give us a refund. It was overall an annoying experience. For our oil change, we scheduled one through the app. Upon arrival, the service desk worker told us that we were scheduled for a different time from what we had on the app. Even though we had a text and email confirming our appointment. We left and went to jiffy lube. To sum it up, if you're trying to avoid a headache, go somewhere else. We wouldn't recommend this dealership to anyone. read more

I am disappointed. Although it is easy drop off for the car after hours, the service is horrible. I took in my 2014 Chevy silverado because of an alternator replacement and they quoted me $2000 thats without the taxes or the $225 diagnostic fee. Which i found out they really didnt need to do. So I called around and learned more about alternators and I was able to find someone that was charging $600. What Chevy didnt explain to me was my options. I could either get a used alternator, remanufactured alternator or flat out new alternator. They didnt even explain to me that the size of the engine mattered. When I tried to get my truck back on saturday they said the technicians weren't home and the guy dealing with my truck went home and they could not give me my truck. I waited until Tuesday to get my truck because of the labor day holiday and was told again that the technician was no longer there for the day that I would have to come back the next day and they would have my truck ready for me. Took me almost a week to get my truck back. While picking up my truck I witnessed one of the mechanics hit a customers vehicle with another customers vehicle. I would not recommend this place at all. read more
