Fabulous homemade ice cream with rural charm. Strawberry short cake and oatmeal cookie are my favorites!

Very good ice cream. We had purple cow, funky monkey, chocolate cherry, and apricot almond. All creamy and flavorful.

Disappointing stop for dinner. Maybe breakfast is better? I ordered the baked meat tortellini with…read moremeat sauce. It was supposed to come with a side salad or soup and garlic knots. I choose salad with vinaigrette. Waited 20 minutes, no salad. Meal came, still no salad, no garlic knots, no meat in the meat sauce, not baked, just microwaved until the slab of mozzarella on top was melted. When the wait staff finally checked on me, my dinner was almost gone and I asked about the sides that were on the menu with the dinner. She acted surprised and checked the receipt and offered to bring a to go container. I said I would prefer to have it there (we were traveling through and didn't want to bring a side salad in the car). I finished the meal with the salad. Still no garlic knots. Place is dingy, needs a deep cleaning and updated decor. The pasta wasn't terrible, just not what was on the menu. Tasted like the meat tortellini you buy at the freezer section of Walmart. My husband asked me to find a diner on our cross country road trip and this was a loss on the scoreboard. I'm not picky, but this was not a positive experience. If you are local, I'm sure there are hidden gems on the menu, but we won't be back.

We enjoyed a BLT and a chicken quesadilla and fries. They were solid for a quick lunch. However my visits to the women's restroom quickly depleted my appetite. The restroom floors, woodwork, and furnishings were very distressed and filthy. Certainly did not meet any health code as I it became apparent that staff members also use this restroom. Cannot recommend this restaurant.

Warm, attentive service without hovering...exactly what you want for a special night. We started with the fried calamari and shrimp cocktails. Calamari was golden, tender, zero rubbery pieces, and the shrimp cocktail was huge, fresh, and perfectly chilled. Already a win. For mains, we went all out: Ribeye Steak cooked to a perfect medium-rare with a great sear, Rack of Lamb that was tender and seasoned beautifully, Lobster Crab & Seafood Fra Diavolo with just the right kick, and the Crab & Shrimp Spinach Fettuccine was creamy, packed with seafood, and didn't skimp on the crab. Every plate came out hot and every bite was spot-on. Portions are generous, vibe is cozy but still feels special enough for a 50th, and they even helped us make the birthday moment memorable. No rushed tables, no attitudejust great food and genuine hospitality. If you're in Simpson or driving through, Frank's Place is worth the stop. We'll be back with more friends in tow. Thanks for making her 50th so perfect!

I've had some fantastic meals from this place in the past, so I was really looking forward to my…read morerecent order. While there were definitely highlights, I found myself a bit disappointed as well. First off, the ribs were a standout in terms of taste; they were tender and flavorful, literally falling off the bone. However, they arrived in a pizza box, sitting on foil, and were ice cold. I believe they would have retained more warmth if they had been wrapped in foil or placed in a proper takeout dish. Given that it was only a half rack, it should have fit comfortably. On the brighter side, the mashed potatoes and gravy were as delightful as always. Every time I order them, they're consistently delicious. The turkey and roast beef platters were also warm and tasty, which I appreciated. However, I couldn't shake the feeling of being misled by the portion sizes. It seemed like they were trying to create an illusion of abundance by stuffing four slices of bread under the meat. This wasn't just the case with the turkey platter; the same trick was used for the roast beef platter. When I ordered, I explicitly declined the bread option, thinking I was getting a straightforward platter, not an open-faced sandwich. Instead of a generous serving, I felt like I received less meat than I expected, masked by the hidden bread. So, while I enjoyed the flavors, I can't ignore the feeling of being a bit deceived. I'm left uncertain about my next order. Perhaps I'll reach out to them directly to discuss my experience. I understand that times are tough, and the costs of ingredients, especially meat, can be challenging, but I can't help but feel a bit fooled and/or misled by all the slices of bread under both the Turkey & Roast Beef meat (4/5 slices under each pile of meat, for each platter! Please see the evidence in the pictures I uploaded) I cannot comment on the ambience because I had my food delivered to me!
