When driving home on route 81 north I turned to Yelp for help on choosing where to stop to eat. Yelp didn't let me down as usual. This little home diner is right off route 81 so not much of a diversion to get right back on. Walked in and it has a counter and a few tables and booths. This was in between lunch and dinner at about 3:00 so it wasn't crowded. I was amazed at the prices on the menu because it was so reasonable. My sister & I both got the meatloaf dinners with real mashed potatoes and a side salad. It was good home cooked food with decent portions. Of course didn't eat it all because saved room for pie. I got the blueberry crumble pie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. It was so good! The ice cream is homemade also from a dairy down the street. The service was excellent also. If I'm traveling route 81 out of NY I will definitely make this a stop.

This place had a high yelp review so we decided to stop for lunch. The atmosphere is very simple but it's very welcoming . They were down a waitress today, but the woman taking care of everything did great. Husband ordered a hamburger and I ordered Texas Weiner. One thing to note on the Texas hot it was actually half a hotdog or a very small hotdog. I will look at the menu again, but I don't think anything was noted about it being small. It was absolutely delicious and the price was fair but I was expecting a full hotdog. At first, I thought the hotdog had been split so it would lay flat and then double stacked on the half a hotdog roll, which I was kind of excited about last bread... But that was not the case. The fries were great. Marty sent back the iced tea, but they didn't question it and he got a Dr Pepper instead. It is obvious that people enjoy coming. People are talking to each other. People know each other. It seems like a place people like to be. I don't regret coming.

This is a nice small place. They treat you like family, there is a sign that says "enter as strangers and leave as friends". You can definitely see that their customers service is on point. The food was good. Very filling and sufficient amount. I had the cinnamon raisin French toast. Not bad, very filling. I didn't take a picture because I forgot and wanted to dig in.

Talk about a roadside gem. These kinds of family run places are so far and few between. We were headed North on 81 and this place is just off the exit. I'll be back when driving through town...It's everything you would expect from a locally owned family restaurant. And you can sit at the bar! I can't believe I've driven by this place all these years, and not stopped in...

Found this place on Yelp driving from NYC to Niagara Falls..... Awesome little hometown diner..... Food was delicious and the baked goods phenomenal..... I'd travel back to B&B just to feel like family again..... Do yourself a favor and enjoy a meal here.

Good food, good service. Local to Dalton. Next to I81. Reminds me of an older diner.

Nonetheless, the towns of route 11 still have hungry denizens, and that's where Jenny Leigh's comes in! Now located 200 yards from where the original establishment sat prior to falling victim to fire, Jenny Leigh's is situated in an impressive Victorian home in Kingsley. Step inside, and it has a completely relaxed atmosphere, with an eclectic gathering of various tables, chairs, and outdoorsy memorabilia. We sat at an old workbench in the back, which made for a delightful table. Everything about Jenny Leigh's backs up the name "country cooking", except the anachronistic juke box on the wall that requires-gasp- a cell phone app to control it. Otherwise, it is wonderfully rustic. That said, the atmosphere is bright, cheerful, and inviting. Places like this could give off the vibe of "locals only, please", where people in dark shadows grunt and stare at you for your entire meal; nonesuch here. A counter adorns the front room, and in two more rooms, tables are scattered. Three families were eating, with another group of retirees gathered happily and swapping tales at the table nearest to us. None gave us that menacing look or the "whatch you doin' here...get out!" vibe. All friendly! The waitress was spot on with coffee refills, and most importantly, the country cooking was great. I had the "Smash Up"= a combination of cubed potatoes, eggs, suasage, peppers, cheese and onions for $5.99, kids sampled sticky buns and bacon and pancakes; wife had cinnamon-raisin French toast and loved it as well. Prices are reasonable (most under $6) and the food was really good. Verdict? Big fan. We love Saturday morning breakfasts out while staying in Harford, and with the absence of our 10-year staple-the Stables in Montrose- we are searching all options. WIth Jenny Leigh's closest and- for now- the best, it looks as if we have found a wonderful new breakfast option!

Warm, attentive service without hovering...exactly what you want for a special night. We started with the fried calamari and shrimp cocktails. Calamari was golden, tender, zero rubbery pieces, and the shrimp cocktail was huge, fresh, and perfectly chilled. Already a win. For mains, we went all out: Ribeye Steak cooked to a perfect medium-rare with a great sear, Rack of Lamb that was tender and seasoned beautifully, Lobster Crab & Seafood Fra Diavolo with just the right kick, and the Crab & Shrimp Spinach Fettuccine was creamy, packed with seafood, and didn't skimp on the crab. Every plate came out hot and every bite was spot-on. Portions are generous, vibe is cozy but still feels special enough for a 50th, and they even helped us make the birthday moment memorable. No rushed tables, no attitudejust great food and genuine hospitality. If you're in Simpson or driving through, Frank's Place is worth the stop. We'll be back with more friends in tow.
