I have never experienced anything like Dairy Twist. This creamery has plenty of covered outdoor seating, a friendly and quick serving staff, REASONABLE PRICES, and they even sell seafood, during season. I noticed that they are ALWAYS busy and located perfectly on the busy Route 6. The portions are UNBELIEVABLE and the selections (hard or soft serve) are endless. Each and every one of our choices were creamy, delightful, and thoroughly enjoyed. I cannot recommend Dairy Twist enough. We enjoyed our trip to Dairy Twist greatly. We came with our pup as they have outdoor seating. On the menu you can purchase a "pup cup" which is just a little bit of vanilla soft serve + a piece of puparoni. I got a root beer float and my partner got a massive ice cream cone. She's still got it! Just realizing that we did not update our review for the Dairy Twist last year but obviously we were there on numerous occasion because this still remains our favorite ice cream place in the Poconos. Milford Dairy Bar: eat your heart out!! We came here on Tuesday evening for a birthday dessert and all of us stuck to the type of ice cream that we usually get. Our daughter threw a curveball by getting lemon soft serve which was definitely intense for a full flavor experience, but all the more power to her. One of us got soft serve half vanilla/half fudge with sprinkles but the latter flavor was essentially just chocolate so not much novelty. Still, the portions are huge and wonderful! Which is a big reason why we like this place as much as we do... Two folks got the Hershey's hard stuff, which, even though it's not homemade, is still excellent. Love the moose tracks as well as the peanut butter whatever-it-was situation. The line was long, but it moved fast. One of us was all set on getting a T-shirt this year, but didn't love the turquoise color so will hold out for next year--because of course we will be back! My wife loves their softserve and says it is the creamiest every. But this is my review and experience, and I'm not impressed. This is the third time I've tried one of their custom softserve flavors, and I ordered the peanut butter and fudge brownie twist. Sounds great right? The girl disappeared for over 10 minutes working on mine so I don't know what complications or ran out of certain syrups, but the peanut butter tasted very washed out/weak, and the fudge brownie had absolutely no flavor at all but just a brown vanilla. Took two bites and tossed it. Very disappointing. There is another place in Honesdale, and their softserve actually has flavor. I'll keep bringing my wife back because she is a fan, but I'll going to skip or just go with their Hershey hard icecream. read more

I absolutely love the Capachino crunch with toffee and chocolate swirl! I must also say the small size is actually huge! We can't resist and we go there at least once a week! I found the texture of the soft serve ice cream to be a little off - it seemed to feel a bit artificial as if it wasn't made from dairy products, but a chemical composition created to mimic ice cream. Don't know this for a fact, but it is the best way I can describe it. None the less it seemed a bit busy when I was there and they have a side window where you can also order food. The basic soft serve I would give the flavors a 8.0 out of 10. The ice cream is not fatty enough IMO and tastes a bit artificial. The toppings such as the pineapple tasted like candy pineapple that kids may like but not like a fresh ripe pineapple. The chocolate syrup tasted funky and I would stay away from it as I expect good syrup to taste like Belgian chocolate. The walnuts tasted fine but the whipped cream tasted like it was from a can as opposed to whipped heavy cream. In a pinch I would buy the basic soft serve flavors and just have it with walnuts. read more

Have been going to this place for years and years and they're under new ownership. The people who work the front counter are very nice. We were served right away, if they saw a line they opened another window, and we were asked 2 times while we waited if we were being helped. Parking is much easier now and they do snacks as well. The new owners need to do a couple of things in my opinion. The sign says 24 flavors of soft serve, which they used to have and I loved, but now only have 3. (And one of those is chocolate-vanilla twist so it really shouldn't count) If they're not going to up the soft flavors they need to bring in more hard ice cream flavors, only had about 12 or so. I asked for black cherry which they did not have. They do however have some nice sundaes and specialty stuff for you to order. Also I never understood the fact that they sell "fresh frozen"(?) seafood there for you to take home and cook. Doesn't seem to make sense: Ice Cream AND Fish?? In my opinion just do the ice cream really well.....but what do I know. All in all I'm a fan of this great local place and go back with my family almost every night I'm in the area. read more

I came here while on vacation with my family. They have over 24 flavors of soft serve ice cream which is awesome. I got the peanut butter which was very good and also sampled my family's flavors including maple nut, peach, and blueberry. They were all very good. My only complaint was that I also got cookie dough topping on my ice cream which did not have much flavor. However, my family got other toppings that were good. Also, another unusual thing is that if you order the soft serve, they only sell it in the medium size. However, you can order hard ice cream in 4 different sizes. I thought this was weird because I would have ordered a small and thus ended up throwing some ice cream out. I have had the ice cream a few times but I really stop for the lobster rolls. Great price and as good as any I've had in the city or more-seaside town. I agree with Mike S. I can tell everyone for a fact that this ice cream place does serve ice cream with synthetic ingredients and artificial flavors. Since I am someone who believes in all natural and organic foods, I asked them if they had artificial ingredients in ice cream and they said themselves it does contain monoglycerides and corn syrup, and the special flavors are artificial. Whipped cream I am 95% sure was out of a can with more preservatives. For those who are all natural and organic like me, do not go here. You are better off getting turkey hill or breyers all natural ice cream at the super market and flavoring it naturally yourself, since you are spending the same money anyway. My family thinks they are good, but I sincerely believe they are nothing special and the Whistle Stop in Waldwick NJ blows them out of the water. 1 star read more

I live right here in the area and have been here atleast 30 times over the last few years witg my kids. The service has always been lousy, the people that work the windows act like your bothering them when you approach to place an order. The only employee that even seems half way nice the guy that was cooking the hot food and passing it out the pick up window by the tables. The lobster rolls were decent but small and at $16.00 a piece were absolutely a rip off. Oh wait they do include a bag of "cape cod" potato chips so that must justify the high price. $6 for a greasey hot dog and fries, I mean plan on taking a napkin and squeezing the dog to get the grease off greasey, just be prepared to have the people at the counter act like your trying to rob them when you ask for some extra napkins. I dont remeber the exact price of the ice cream but trust me it was also high seeing how the ice cream was below average also. read more
