Came here for dinner, and the food was OK. I got a chicken sandwich, which was good, but messy and big, and a fruity pebbles cheesecake, which I did not like at all. The service was OK, with there not being a lot of servers, but that's how places are these days. The ambiance was great though, with nice decor but a huge TV right in front of me, which was OK. Walked in at 6:45pm on a Saturday night and had no problem getting a table. I'm the gluten free and dairy free one in the family and they had plenty of options to choose from. Our waitress and the hostess were very friendly and explained options to me, even confirming one item I accidentally ordered... not realizing it was missing the GF identifier on the menu, so I wouldn't be able to eat it. My meal was the salmon bowl with edamame succotash and it was absolutely delicious. The rest of our group had a caprese chicken panini with sweet potato tots, a burger with bacon and blue cheese with regular tots, and the last had a side salad and tomato soup in a bread bowl. The soup/bread bowl was the only item without rave reviews. It was easy to have a conversation at our table, and there were TVs with college football on so we could enjoy the ending to a few games. Nice place, parking was easy (across the street), and service was fantastic. Will definitely visit again when we are in the area. read more

I wanted to grab something before I hit the road and ordered from this bar and grill. I called in my order of the Asian mahi mahi wrap with a really nice man. When I arrived I parked on the street neraby. I walked in and was greeted by the same man that took my order. I told him my name and I grabbed my food, paid and left. When I got to the car I dug in and the wrap was just ok. The mahi mahi lacked seasoning. The coleslaw and rice inside the wrap wasnt bad. It just needed more seasoning. Today my family went to market Street bar and Grill for the first time. It was a one man routine in the front. Ethan was absolutely fantastic. I paid attention to her every need and anticipated what we might need. I don't think we can say enough about the food. Everything we had was better than the last. For appetizers we had the onion rings and the beef quesadilla and it was beyond our expectations. I know onion rings sound easy, but so many places get them so wrong! both my husband and daughter had the rib sandwich and it was absolutely divine. I had the chicken ciabatta sandwich. Needless to say our eyes were bigger than our stomach and we had plenty to take home. I recommend market Street bar and Grill to anyone in the area or out of town that are looking for good quality food and a nice atmosphere. Excellent service and unique food and cocktails. We really enjoyed our meal at Market Street - we were in town for a sporting event and so happy we found this great place! We ordered the tuna stack, seasonal gnocchi (pumpkin) topped with scallops, we ordered a dish that came with steak and chimichurri, grilled vegetables and rice (super, but don't remember the name) and we got a side of honey vanilla corn bread - amazing! The gnocchi was tough, but the scallops were perfect. Besides the gnocchi, everything was amazing including the service. Very good and would definitely return if we are in Scranton again! read more

I came back again for a second dinner, while I was traveling through the area, just because there were so many awesome delicious items on the menu. The first night I had the Chicken Japleno Popper Pop Tart with the Panko Everything Seasoned Onion Rings with Sriracha Ranch . Round two... Not disappointed at all. The filet was to die for. I may or may not have cried a little tears of happiness while consuming my food like a carnivore. Even the Ceaser Salad was on point! I normally will eat around the croutons but they were so light and buttery I couldn't resist. And the service... BEST BARTENDERS IN PA! I love coming back and being greeted like a friend. This is a great place! When we walked in the bartender immediately welcomed us. After we sat at a table he wasted no time in bringing the menus over. Throughout our meal, he was on top of everything! They have 2 dedicated gluten free fryers! The menu has a lot of gluten free options as well. Their smoked wings were among the best I have ever eaten! I also had the Bacon Gorg Burger. They don't have gluten free buns which is ok with me as I normally don't want a bun. Because of the dedicated fryers I was able to have fries with my meal. The burger was LOADED with onions and bacon. Both were delicious! My wife had the Not-yo Mamas Caprese Salad. It looked AMAZING! My wife said the flavors were very well balanced. I have never had a bad meal here and my mom swears they make some of the best burgers in Scranton. The chef here is not serving your typical bar food! It's creative and delicious. Had dinner here during the week, early dinner to beat the crowds. We were fortunate to get in without a reservation! There is your typical bar food, burgers and wraps, but then the not so typical. Hubby had the fish and chips - where do you get fresh fish in Scranton, PA? It was a huge portion of fish, so lightly battered you could hardly taste the batter. My hubby is a 3 or 4 tartar sauce dipping guy. At Market Street Grille you don't get the usual Tatar sauce, it's this sweet and spicy tartar like sauce with Siracha. Delicious! He enjoyed it so much, he never asked for the regular sauce. I had the special: gnocchi in light garlic butter sauce with peas, spinach and scallops. OMG! It was fantastic. Hubby, of course says, "I didn't know you like scallops." 39 years of marriage, still surprising guy!! Service was efficient, knowledgeable and friendly. Price, just right. Oh, and don't forget the onion rings - another menu item prepared in the not so typical way. Really good! So why not 5 stars - it's dark. I don't think there were any windows where you can see outside. Good for a night time bar crowd, but for me, I like to see outside. Don't be turned off by the outside of the building and looks of neighborhood. There is a parking lot for the restaurant, right across the street. Try this place! You'll like it. I had dinner here with a co worker. It was a Wednesday night, so not very busy. We ordered 2 appetizers. 1 was the fried pickles. Better than I have had elsewhere. The second was chips with loaded cheese. They were good, but way too much cheese. It was drowning in them... I had a French onion soup.it also had a decent amount of cheese, but not a ton of bread in it. The entrees were both good. My coworker had the waffle special. She thought it had a ton of meat in it and was good. I had the bowl with rice noodles and added beef. It had a good amount of beef. A little pricey at 12.00 to add the beef. If you are in town, I would recommend going. But, it's not the best I have had... but, definitely could be better than other options nearby. read more

It was a Thursday night and we had just arrived in town for my sister's wedding that weekend. 7 of us needed dinner and some in town relatives recommended this place. Immediately we were put off, as we were "greeted" by being criticized for not calling ahead for our "large group." Meanwhile, there was one other party of 2-3 people in the dining room. Our server - Jacqulyn per the receipt, she certainly never introduced herself - was extremely rude and basically acted inconvenienced by us. I asked her if they could turn on playoff hockey on the tv above our table - she told me they just got rid of their sports package and had only very basic cable. What kind of bar has no tv package? I tried to get on NBC sports app on my phone - there was no service. I tried to get on their guest wifi and it would not connect on my phone or my sister's. I brought this to the server's attention and she said it was a problem with my phone. No apologies for any of this - in fact I was very clearly annoying her. We ordered a round of drinks which came out at a snail's pace, despite the place being dead. Mysteriously, everyone else got their drink and I still hadn't gotten my bottle. I told her to forget it. Ultimately we decided we had to leave - we could not reward this business with any more money. It was an extremely disappointing experience. read more
