Tasty BBQ is one of the residents in The Corner Mall's food court - The Food Experience. By the mall entrance, the hours posted state Monday - Saturday 7am-6:30pm, and Sunday noon-6pm. Tasty BBQ is cafeteria style, where you order up, they scoop pre-made food, and you're out of there. Service was quite friendly. The meat tender enough, and the collard greens wet and overcooked with dry bits of meat, but okay on the whole. I ordered the Double Tasty $11.75 so that I could sample both their brisket and pork belly on one visit. Both had some fat layered in there, but not overly so. The belly was preferred. Their bbq sauce was a good non-spicy option, and their pickles and onions helped to make the meal a tad healthier. Their onions were surprising mild. Generally, the Double Tasty is served with 2 meats, a hot & a cold side, pickles, raw onions, & bbq sauce, but they will allow a double portion of a side. I sampled a few other items on another visit, and found that I preferred the potato salad over the cole slaw for their cold side options. The mac & cheese was pretty good, and their bbq brisket quite tender and tasty. I didn't try the broccoli, but they were a beautiful vibrant green. So in terms of their meat, I recommend the bbq chopped brisket, then pork belly, and last but not least - the brisket. As for their desserts, I had their banana pudding $3 and caramel flan $3.25. The banana pudding is assembled before your eyes, with the pudding squeezed out of one of those plastic bags like frosting, several of those round Nilla Wafer type cookies placed along the edges, and topped off with whipped cream sprayed from those aerosol cans from the supermarket. As such, the whipped cream doesn't last too long, and the cookies will soften over time. There is no real banana sliced in unlike what is traditionally known as banana pudding in the US. The pudding itself is rather dense and could do with a boost of banana flavoring, since it is after all called a banana pudding. In short - tasty, eat it sooner than later, but not quite befitting its name. (Turns out they forgot to add the sliced banana.) The flan was cut from a tray not quite 3/4 of an inch thick. It is quite a dense dessert. Creamy, sweet. I liked it, though it wasn't the best rendition I've had. On another visit I tried out their banana bread french toast $3.50, biscuit with sweet butter $1.30 and french fries $2.50. The banana bread came in three slices, griddled warm (not sure if they did anything else to it to warrant the "french toast" description. But warmed, with a swirl of whipped cream and some sliced banana, it made for a nice comforting (yet not too sweet) sweet. The french fries were nicely salted, and crispy in bits. They were good. Their biscuit reheated well and was quite nice. read more

My partner and I are major fans of bbq, brisket. Southern foods - and this place isn't the best one we've dined at but it's got good food in great portions. The dishes could use more flavor and seasoning as they leave more to be desired. We've had the sliced smoked brisket, buttermilk fried chicken, roasted bbq chicken, and triple tasty plates. None of the dishes hit your soul the way bbq and southern food should as the dishes need flavors adjusted. Often lacking smoke, salt, spices. Can't get enough of the biscuits! My favorite item on the menu. Overall, a good place to check out if you love brisket and bbq! As there are not many in the area, I do look forward to seeing the chefs build the menu and restaurant more! read more

Bruh, I gotta stop trusting things that claim to be good in the name. This was the biggest misrepresentation of this place. I had the tasty 3. Order 3 meats and two sides. I got Chunk brisket, ribs, and pulled chicken. My sides were collard greens and baked beans and did a side order or Mac and cheese. It was delivery but don't think that makes a difference. So 1 a side order is 5$ they put the Mac and cheese on my plate and no collard greens and I was still charged for the side. The baked beans taste more like chili beans and if you like southern bbq you know how disappointing this must be. The Mac and Cheese has a weird cooked cheese wiz taste. My meats. Can't tell you what that tasted like. They mixed it all in one. All on top of eachother, You couldn't tell what was what except the rib which was ok. They didn't add bbq sauce to any of it. I used to love this place. Great food, and they paid attention to your order. However the past couple times I've ordered, they have completely whiffed -- Missing side dishes, not including the bbq sauces I ordered, and then just saying "what do you want me to do about it?" when I call them to try to make it right. Got pick-up from here. I wasn't sure what to expect based on the mixed reviews but I was pleasantly surprised. The beef brisket platter was FANTASTIC, even after I reheated it. It was super juicy, tender, and flavorful. The mac & cheese I got on the side was also delicious - perfectly creamy and topped with crispy bread crumbs. I also got steamed broccoli, which was solid. My platter (1 meat, 2 sides) was around $13, not bad considering how much food there was! My boyfriend got the pulled chicken platter. It wasn't bad, but the beef brisket was much better. First of all, set your expectations as this is BBQ in a mall food court. That said, the staff was friendly and helpful, but the food was about what you'd expect. If you think 80/20 beef is way too lean, this may be the place for you. The pork ribs and chopped brisket were both very tender...fall off the bone ribs, not competition BBQ. Unfortunately, the chopped brisket was too fatty and the rub on the ribs was overly salty. The mac and cheese was gritty, but the greens were pretty decent. From all the places of the court this is the only one you get good food. I felt bad for them because a lady with such stupid atitude wanted hot sauce, which is a complimentary (you get if you want it and I'm sorry if the hot sauce isn't the way you wanted go to CVS and buy one or check the other food court places for hot sauce). Hot sauce wasn't hot enough for her, and because of that, she wanted return the whole food (If you're the lady and read this, you don't eat food you eat hot sauce with something). I felt bad for the employees having to deal with her, they to explain that they don't have a hotter sauce because people complained that was too hot. Here one thing I disagree with them and I think the lady was right. They refused the refund, a business owner and who work with hospitality and food, regardless if the customer is wrong or right, if they return any source of product or refuse the service, they must get their refund. The manager couldn't make the lady calm and made her more aggravated. I've been coming here about once a week for a few months now. This place has a couple of dishes that I get regularly and these are the items that I give the five star review. I get the pork belly more than anything else on the menu and it is consistently flavorful and fatty. I also get the beef brisket, whole without BBQ sauce. This also has a nice succulent texture with well rendered fat along the edge. The one side that I always get is the collard greens, it is always tasty and tastes great mixed with the hot sauce. This place gives a fair amount of food for a fair price. It's great for lunch any day of the week. read more

the chicken is ok when the batter is not salty. the pork belly is very good, the biscuits are big and heavy but when warm with the honey butter they are sinful. they get 2 stars as they keep putting stuff in the bag/containers that are not asked for. I did not ask for ranch with my chicken but it was in the box spilled all over the chicken. Just had this delivered at work. Did not know where the food was from until we found the receipt, but everyone agreed that it was all incredible. I usually go to one of the other businesses at the Corner Mall food court. This was the first time I tried Tasty BBQ, and I'm glad I did. The brisket was tender, marbled with just the smallest bit of fat. So tender in fact that you could cut it with a fork. The mashed potatoes were plentiful and tasty, and the spicy slaw was outstanding. The kid that waited with me was courteous and polite. The food was much better than what I was expecting, given that it's located in a mall food court. If you're hungry this is a good place to go. I got the brisket with a side of collard greens today and I am glad I did! The brisket was very tender, smoky and flavorful. I loved the greens, way overcooked like in North Carolina with bits of meat in them and delicious broth. About a third of my brisket was fat, so I didn't eat that, and what I did eat was kinda greasy, but hey, I really enjoyed what I got, it didn't cost much, and I don't eat bbq every day.
