Tried this place for the first time and it officially became my most favorite gyros spot! I got the gyros pita pocket and it was so flavorful. I've tried many gyros restaurants and this one by far tastes the best. They give you a giant cup of ranch or taziki sauce. There was a long line during lunch time but it goes by really quickly. I'm all about a gyro plate. Having worked from home for almost 2 years, I forgot what it was like to eat out for lunch. I took a new job in the area and I was trying to find some new spots at my lunch work spot. I came across this restaurant and I was a bit scared of the 3.5 rating. Well I think the rating is justified. You see all the Mediterranean places I've been to have been hole-in-the-walls. Some don't even take cash or they give you a discount if you pay in cash. It sounds weird but leave it to the immigrants mentality. I should know because my parents are immigrants and they don't even take electronic payments either in their own business. Anyway, what I'm trying to say is those hole-in-the-wall Mediterranean restaurants have the best gyro plates. Freshly shaved gyro on a spit, radioactive yellow rice, addictive tabouleh salad, unlimited toppings and dressings. It's hard to get it wrong. Well Kebab gyros has all that but the shaved gyro meat is in a warmer, which isn't a big deal but you lose the crispiness from a spit. Not only that, when I asked for feta cheese, olives, and other extras, they charged me for each extra. Come on man... You gave me 4 Greek olives and I paid like 50 cents for it. The food was decent, but not worth the price (especially the nickle and diming). I might come back if I'm craving a gyro plate really bad. Otherwise I may have to look elsewhere to get my gyro fix. Heck, I'd straight up go to the chain Taziki's instead of this place but even Taziki's is too expensive. read more

Eh, not my favorite. My gold standard for a good gyro is when the meat is shaved from the spit fresh and then seared on a grill. I'm all about the crispyness. Unfortunately, this didnt hit the gold standard. This is one of those places that cuts the meat ahead of time and puts it in a steam table all day. I got two plates: gyro and falafel. The guy behind the counter asked me if I wanted my falafel reheated (the answer was YES) so I thought that was a bit weird that they didn't make them fresh. Also, as the employee assembled my plates, he used the same tongs to scoop the rice, grab the meat, and the veggies. Cross contamination! I was there an hour before close, which closing time is only at 6:30 p.m., so I expect dinner is not usually very busy, but that choice was just lazy. So the gyro itself was average. The falafel was tasty and crispy (once reheated), but I didn't really care for the rice or the tabbouleh salad. I think they also charged me for feta cheese, which is a freebie at literally every other gyro place! I asked for tzatziki sauce and was expecting the normal white yogurt sauce. Instead, I got something that looked like ranch but wasn't ranch. The taste was odd, kind of sweet but garlicky? I didn't really like it. Both the chicken & lamb were delicious. The chicken was juicy & perfectly seasoned. The tabbouleh salad was also amazing, with lots of parsley. The only reason I give this place three stars instead of two is because the quality of the food is above average. The woman who I perceive to be the owner seems to care quite a bit about the food but her staff are below average. Their lack of happiness seems to point to some type of refugee job program. I get it, you imagined Hollywood when you thought of America and you got Nashville... but you are at least safe and employed... lighten up! The staff is consistently sour and seem bitter each time I have visited. They bark out questions to you with heavy non-Greek or English accents that are hard to understand in a less than friendly manner. I have observed a couple of food handling items they could use some training on as far as wearing gloves and not letting food touch the bottom of plates on the trays. Overall the food is priced decently but the real reason there is a line is it's the ONLY place to eat in this area where you have multitude of huge office buildings. read more

I came here for a Spanish Language and Culture Meetup group. Pros: 1. It was quiet and there was a large table so we could all speak together and hear each other well. 2. It was clean. 3. Prices are good. Cons: 1. It was FREEZING. I was literally shivering it was so cold. 2. My salad was kinda blah. It didn't have much flavor. 2. The only dressings they have are balsamic vinaigrette, ranch and Taziki sauce. I got the balsamic and Taziki, and they were very bland. The Taziki sauce was nothing like Taziki sauce. This place is a hidden gem. I got the chicken platter atop rice, it comes with side of salad, and pita bread. Chicken is wonderfully flavorful and delicious. Salad is fresh and crunchy. If you work near here, you know this place. You also know it has been around over 28 years and there is always a line. If you go after lunch like 2:30. You will be scrapping the bottom of the barrel. Their food is very good, chicken and regular gyro. Friends like the chicken, I can't get past the lamb. Their salads are always fresh and they staff is very kind. My only pet peeve is that EVERYONE knows it is good and you have stand in line. They have tables inside and outside and parking can be tricky if you smack dab in the middle of lunch. I've eaten at this place twice now. First time I got the Falafel, which was pretty good. (I've had way better, but what do you expect in Nashville?) This time I got a salad. List price for the most basic house salad:$6.95. Kinda pricey for lettuce and tomatoes, but I chose to add a protein to it and that raised it $2.95 higher. (It said it came with Kalamata olives. They piled it high with black olives instead. blah. The taste of the food, otherwise, was good. That is the only reason I came back. The gentleman who worked the assembly line to make my salad was Mr. GrumpyPants. He never once looked me in the eye, nor did he raise his voice above mumble-level. When I didn't hear one of his under-the-breath questions he got snippy with me. "Tabbouleh, YES.OR.NO..." still never above a mumble. The gentlewoman behind the register, Mrs. I-Have-No-Craps-To-Give, also had the inability to look customers in the face and spoke in a disinterested monotone usually only reserved to DMV employees. Sad. When I go to a restaurant, I like to be made to feel like I am a valued customer. Thank you for choosing our restaurant, ma'am, we hope you'll come back. I think this is as the same place I used to visit when I worked in Brentwood and was excited to stumble upon one close to home in Nashville. If it's not, it's very similar with a slightly expanded menu. I'm a big fan of the Greek chicken salad. The seasoning is very flavorful and meat is tender. I also enjoy the ranch dressing. It's affordable and convenient and seems healthy for a quick bite. I'm happy to find something close to grab for takeout dinner without fighting traffic. read more

There are a few Kebab Gyro's on here so hopefully this is the right location. I'm not overall familiar with Nashville but we found this hole in the wall while driving in the downtown area. There is limited seating on not much of an atmosphere, and it looks like the locals were mostly sitting down for a quick lunch. Parking was hard to find so I ended up just pulling in and getting our food to-go. They had a good variety on their menu but yes it was mostly cafeteria style service. Definitely not a restaurant/dining in environment. But I didn't mind it, actually was looking for somewhere quick. The FOOD: I ordered the gyro and it was delicious. Not your typical gyro. They cut the top of the pita bread and "stuff" the bread with meat and fillings of your choice. This was the best Gyro I've had in the South and beats a lot of them up North. This place is busy during lunch time and would not recommend eat-in. It is family owned and they were very friendly. I will definitely eat here again and do recommend it to anyone looking for a good Gyro. read more

We live in the area. On the weekends Metrocenter is a ghost town so I've never dealt with a line. Fast casual Greek is probably my favorite category of restaurant and these guys do it right. So now that I work at MetroCenter it has come to my attention that there are a paucity of decent restaurants to try in the area. In order to avoid fast food we went to Kebab Gyros. It is located in a strip of places that includes Neely's BBQ - which smelled so freakin delicious I almost never made it into Kebab. So this place has no atmosphere whatsoever, so don't expect much in that respect. Just a bunch of tables where people with limited time to eat can sit and grub down really quickly. Also, the trashcans needed to be emptied and there were a ton of gnats flying around them. Ew. So don't expect it to be very clean either. That being said...on to the food! So there will be a line at lunch time but it moves quickly so don't let that run you away (if the gnats haven't already ran you away, that is). The menu includes gyro or chicken pitas, platters that include gyros, chicken, or combinations + rice and tabbouleh, or platters where you choose two specialty items (like hummus, greek orzo, tabbouleh, chickpea salad, etc). They also have salad offerings. I got the gyros platter. The meat was plentiful and was pretty decent. Liked the yogurt sauce to dip it in and the pita they served on the side was soft and fresh (might have been store bought, not sure, but was still good). Price was $8ish for the platter plus a drink. And drinks are serve yourself which is good because you can refill right before you leave to get some afternoon caffeine. AND it is a Coke establishment so you don't have to drink crappy Pepsi instead. Service is fast and efficient - no time for friendliness or banter here. Try Kebab Gyros if you are in the neighborhood and are looking for something different than the usual fast food! read more

Platters, sandwiches, wraps, No better No worse than any of its type in Nashville, just simply getting away with it (sigh), beef/lamb mixed together, could not taste the difference, horrible tasteless rice, and the classic watered down ranch, chick pea salad was soggy.
