Noir is always going to deliver a delicious brunch and with the newly renovated interior design update, it's so cute too! The service was a little slow, but our food was fresh and yummy. We had a little bit of everything and I'd go back, but only with smaller groups.

Southern comfort food at its finest. This will for sure have you leaning and catching the itis. Went in the afternoon for late lunch early dinner and it wasn't too crowded when we first arrived, but it's not a huge space so I def can see how this place can get crowded. Chill ambiance overall and the staff for very helpful. Yams and collard greens ranked high for what we ordered followed by the cornbread. The lamb and the catfish are solid mains, but the sides are where it's att.

I was looking for a Black owned place to go when I came to Nashville and Noir did not disappoint. We were greeted as soon as we walked in the door. Our server Erika was nice and attentive. The music was playing at the perfect level, loud enough to enjoy but not too loud to hold a conversation. We had the wings, brussels, lemon drops, fries and Southwest egg rolls. Everything came out quicker than expected. Inside of the restaurant was beautiful, with plenty of yellow tinged lighting that made you feel like you were glowing.

Can I just say this is the best restaurant I've had in a long time. Everything was so delicious. We went on a Saturday morning during brunch and they have buy one get one free lemon drops. I was feeling great off of the first few sips lol. And then when the food came out, I was impressed by everything on my plate. The macaroni and fried chicken were my favorite if I had to choose. The server was so nice. They began to get a little bit more crowded as we were eating and she continued to make sure she checked on us. The music was great and it wasn't too loud. I hate when I go places and I can't hear the person I'm dining with. Even the decor was nice, dark and moody, which I liked. They had a patio option as well, but we decided to dine in. Overall 10 out of 10 with highly recommend I can't wait until I go back to Nashville to eat here.

Just went today for the first time. It was really good! I had catfish, Mac n cheese, collard greens with a cornbread muffin. I thought it would be salty as soul food places usually are for me, but it was not. It was flavorful and the service was just perfect. There is a 90 minute maximum time to eat. We were fine with that.

Food is amazing!!! Vibes all around this establishment. The music completes the experience. Service was a little slow but worth it.

My friends & I stopped by Noir for a drink while hanging out on a Saturday. Its sultry decor leans toward a grown & sexy vibe. We didn't have reservations & found seats at the bar. It was lively, so if you plan to go on a Saturday evening, make reservations. It seemed to be a popular spot for celebrations & tourists. We only got an appetizer, but the food our neighbors ordered looked good. There's parking on the street & behind the building. Love: cocktail (sweet, well-made) Like: spinach dip (comes with pita chips); service (fine)

What a yummy brunch experience! My girlfriends and I visited Noir for brunch this past weekend. The atmosphere was really inviting with its African inspired decor and great music. The hostess was friendly and agreed to snap our picture in front of their signature wall. Our waitress Morgan was very professional and polite. The food selection was great. I was a little disappointed they didn't have snapper but I got my 2nd choice, catfish w/grits instead. I also ordered collard greens and they were delicious. My friend ordered oxtails with grits and she said it was a nice portion and very tasty. My other friend ordered a sampler with oxtails, shrimp, lamb chop, and catfish. She really enjoyed that. Oh and I had a sangria to die for! It was sooooo good. Overall we really enjoyed Noir and was happy we had an opportunity to support a Black owned business.

Came to this restaurant last night for a team dinner. We had a reservation and were seated shorty after all of us getting there. We had a pretty big group, so I'm glad we were seated without having to wait a while. As soon as we sat down, our waitress asked everyone what they wanted to drink. We all did wait for a menu, however, they don't hand out paper menus, they have a QR code. We were with an older crowd, so i think they were a little bothered by that but everyone did end up looking and ordering. One of my colleagues got the spinach dip as an appetizer and i was able to try it. It was super cheesy with barely any spinach lol. It didn't taste bad, however, it seemed to be more of a cheese dip than spinach dip. The chips it came with were very tasty and just the right amount of crunch. My coworker also got the cornbread appetizer and he said they were really good. I got the Rasta pasta, which is really good. However, i didn't like the sauce that was on the chicken. I took the chicken off of the pasta and ate the rest. The toast was also really good as well . I love the fact that this restaurant is black owned. I will definitely come back if I'm ever in the area.

If you're looking for amazing soul food in Nashville, Nior is definitely the place to be. Every dish is full of flavor, cooked with care, and gives you that true comfort-food feeling from the very first bite. The meal was rich, well-seasoned, and beautifully plated, with sides that perfectly complemented the main dish. You can tell the food is made with intention -- soulful, satisfying, and elevated without losing its roots. Nior is one of those spots where you leave full and happy, already planning your next visit. You will not be disappointed.

I've been to Noir quite a few times now and I've never been disappointed. Came on a Thursday around 2:30 and was surprised at how busy they were (we were immediately seated with no reservations but it was more crowded than I expected). I had the 2-4-1 lemon drops (happy hour) which were delicious. We had philly steak egg rolls for an appetizer (happy hour special) which were amazing! I also had the Rockafeller Oysters, Smoked Gouda Macaroni and cheese, and Collard Greens. My husband had the Dirty Cajun Catfish & Rice w/ Yams & Mac & Cheese. Everything was delicious. The food came out timely and hot! Our server, Sanaa, was amazing. 10/10 for service, food, and ambiance.

The food is delicious! I always get the sweet potatoes that seem to be cooked and cut perfectly... the macaroni and cheese is flavorful... and the crab legs are amazing! The ambiance is great too... perfect for a date or an after work cocktail. My service was good as well. The only thing is, I was double charged. I had such a good time and left the establishment before double checking.... I'll just pay attention next time.

Waited a good minute to be seated even though we arrived on time for our 8pm dinner reservation with a party of 11 (we got a a girls there on time!!), but other than that once we got seated it went well. Food was delicious, waitress made sure we had what we needed & gave great recommendations based on our likes/dislikes. Really cute restaurant with dim lighting. Would def go back!

It's a fairly big place with a bar, couches, fireplace with a HUGE beautiful fire, cocktail tables, and cozy booths. Dark, candlelight, this place has a vibe! 5 stars for atmosphere for sure! The service was not great, unfortunately. It was just so slow, every step took FOREVER. We would have gotten dessert but the waitress never came back. I finally stood up, put my jacket on, and stood next to our table, as a hint that we were ready for the check. 3/5 stars for service. Now the food. Do you see those fries?? They are some of the most unique fries I've ever had. Crispy AND chewy on the outside, light and fluffy on the inside. Served with bernaise, these alone are worth coming back for! The burger fell flat IMO. My husband liked it better than I did, but it didn't have much flavor. Some might say it needed ketchup, but for me it was more than that. It was a case where it seemed to have all the right ingredients but didn't "pop". It comes out wrapped in paper which is a fun touch, but didn't seem that hot and also was a little soggy, which made me wonder how long it sat before they brought it. We wanted ketchup for the fries too, BTW, but the server never came back to check on us. My husband's NY sour was a little strange. We love different "takes" on classic cocktails, but this one just didn't work. The waitress seemed unsure as to whether they could make this drink, and maybe she was correct. 3.5 stars for cocktails/food. We will definitely come back. My hope is that the burger was just a one-time miss and that next time it will be perfect. We also want to try the smoked fish dip. Such a cool neighborhood spot!

Nashville's lounge revolution continues. We've gotten Nashville's take on Brooklyn, LA and Vegas…read more the back corner is very Miami Beach. When I walked in I, immediately, thought of Haven (RIP https://www.yelp.com/biz/haven-miami-beach-2). From the LED wall to the music to the drinks to the vibe... I didn't feel like I was in Nashville anymore. the back corner stands out and gives Middle Tennesseans something that's not readily available in this area. If you're in the mood for a little coastal cosmopolitanness (is that word? It's not a word), the back corner is about to be your new favorite place. The neighborhood gets things moving in the right direction. For as much as Germantown has (scenic streets, fancy high rises, coffee, good eats) it didn't have a nightlife destination. Putting one here makes a lot of sense. Building off the 5th & Taylor imprint, the back corner starts off fancy (but not pretentious) and builds to memorable. Upon entry, the first thing you notice is the LED wall and stage. With a changing display of electronic intoxication, you're drawn into a world far away from Lower Broad. If you can break your gaze away from the stage, you'll notice the upper and lower lounge seating. Intimate, cozy and a bit mysterious, the seating at the back corner lets you decide whether you want to be front & center or if you're rather sit back and take it all in. You can be as public or private as you'd like. If indoor seating isn't your thing, make your way outside to enjoy the fire pit and Germantown night sky. Just do us all a favor and refrain from smoking. Seeing cigarette butts along the patio or by (in??) the fire pit is not sexy and very off-brand. All the above said and noted, the back corner is not a huge space -- which is a plus and minus. It's a plus because it never becomes the cavernous mess of bass and desperation. The minus is crowds gonna crowd and with a lot of people, the space will be tight. I don't know how to fix that. I suppose a velvet rope and waitlist will keep crowds at bay but neither feels very Nashville. Hmm... Another minus (relating to the size) is that there's only one bar. One bar in a space this cool is a bit tight. I know the space behind the bar isn't huge but I would staff it with 3 bartenders at a time so as to keep up with the crowd. Because you're going to want to drink. A lot. The cocktail program at the back corner is a bit unusual for Nashville -- and very Miami. Expect rum, colors and a boozy punch. Actually, the menu could use a punch. Get on that, tbc. Re drink progression... start with the gimlet. It's pretty to look at and refreshing to drink. All the mixers, juices, etc. are made in house so you're getting quality fare. From there, hit the No. 4 and, then, the No. 2. If you're still upright, drink some water. Water? Who am I kidding? Cocktails! You're in Miami, [redacted]! Well, sorta. If you need some noshes, 5th & Taylor is serving up bites. Don't come here for dinner. Who eats food? Let the music and booze nourish your body. As perfect as the back corner is for DJ sets, live music (this *is* Nashville, after all) works as well. the back corner isn't the Downtown dance club people have wanted for a (looooong) while. But it is a welcome addition to the city's nightlife scene and, very possibly, you're new favorite place to go. Bienvenidos a Nashville.

I also always appreciate a farm to table restaurant. We got a variety of things to try for our party of four. To start we got the sourdough bread with seaweed butter, kale salad, beef tartare, and yellowfin tuna carpaccio. The kale salad was my stand out app, I loved the fresh black currents in it. We arrived fairly close to closing time, so perhaps that played a role in our experience. We started with the $8 sourdough bread. The bread was clearly fresh, but it was served cold. It came with a seaweed butter, and neither of us felt the flavors worked well together. We asked for regular butter instead and were charged an additional $1. I don't mind paying for extras, but it added to the disappointment when the food itself wasn't enjoyable. My cocktail sounded and looked like a mezcal Old Fashioned, but it tasted more like cough syrup and had virtually no mezcal flavor. After one sip, I decided not to order another drink. I mentioned it to our server, but nothing really changed. The rigatoni had potential flavor-wise, but the pasta was very tough. I asked for it to be cooked longer, but it came back still undercooked. The $40 pork dish was even more disappointing. It was served with lamb's quarter, which I later learned is a wild spinach-like vegetable. The combination simply didn't work for me. The dish also included mushrooms and a blueberry sauce. Somehow the blueberries tasted sour, and the overall flavor profile was very strange. Our server had recommended the dish, saying it was very good, so I went with it. Unfortunately, it was one of the least enjoyable restaurant dishes I've had in quite some time. To her credit, the server offered to bring me something else, but I was ultimately charged for the replacement item as well. By that point it was already 9:30 PM, we'd just come from an event, and we were starving. My partner is generally good about simply deciding not to return to a restaurant and moving on, so we ate what we could and called it a night. What bothers me most isn't the bill--it's feeling like we wasted both our evening and our money. We had been having a wonderful night until dinner. Bad food genuinely makes me sad, especially when I was so excited to try a place with such a strong reputation. Rating: * Atmosphere: 4/5 * Food: 2/5 * Overall: Disappointing experience in an otherwise beautiful space.

The ambience is still nice, but we were seated so close to other tables it was a bit uncomfortable. The server was great (super sweet waitress) but the food was inconsistent. Even she seemed to be aware of this. Here's what we tried: Steak Tartare: 1/10 - Hated it. Worst steak tartare I've had. It tasted literally ONLY of capers and mustard. We couldn't even see the color of the meat. Even our waitress said it was so inconsistent and sometimes bad. Keep in mind they did comp this which was very nice of them. Whipped Ricotta: 9/10 - Okay this was AWESOME. The pita bread was soft, the ricotta was smooth and sweet, and all the toppings on it were just perfect pairings. Chefs kiss. White Bolognese: 5/10 - Pretty mid/bland. Just kind of tasted like pasta with Alfredo sauce and some meat. Eh. Truffle Fries: 5/10 - Standard fries. There is parmesan and truffle at the top but none on any of the middle or bottom fries, so you don't really want to keep eating them. Brussels: 8/10 - Lovely fry on these. They tasted very rich, but could've had more depth to them in my opinion. More crunch perhaps, or even a zingier sauce. Beef tenderloin: 7/10 - I mean it was good beef, but nothing special. The steak just kind of tasted like an average cut of beef. The au jus was good, though, along with the mashed potatoes. Chocolate cherry cake : 4/10 - They offered this to us for free for our anniversary, but I didn't love it. The chocolate flavor was super mild, and the cherry was kind of sickeningly artificial. Not for me. See what I mean now, by inconsistent?
