I went here on a weekday and it was empty so I decided to eat inside. The space is beautiful. I love the archway that leads to the bathrooms and the tile on the walls as well as the light fixtures. The bathrooms were clean and seem to be serviced often. The menu has the perfect amount of options on it. They have rotating spits with the meat for your shawarma being shaved off when you order. I ordered a chicken shawarma (it's thigh which I usually hate but wasn't a big deal for me here). It comes with fresh and pickled vegetables as well as a sauce. The toppings were fresh and delicious. I do wish the meat was salted or seasoned. I also ordered za'atar fries which I loved. And I had enough food to eat the shawarma twice. I got a separate order of the kabees. I enjoyed the pickled cauliflower. The pistachio butter crunch brownie seems their take on the Dubai chocolate bar and wasn't super sweet which I could appreciate. The texture was interesting. Overall very fresh, disappointed with the lack of flavor on the meat.

This has become one of my favorites. We ordered the basmati rice bowl with chicken, Vega loaded fries with falafel, kids chicken shawarma. Everything was delicious!

Nice fresh middle eastern food with cool vibes inside and great hospitality from the staff. We went on a hot Saturday and the cool AC lured us inside the herby air of Vega Shawarma. We went with the Chicken Schawarma, Lamb Ayres, fries, and baklava. The chicken shawarma was huge and filled with fresh as well as pickled veggies and plentiful chicken. The lamb ayres was smaller but packed with meat with the pickled veggies and sauce on the side. The fries were amazing and seasoned with lots of flavor. We saved the baklava for home and enjoyed the later on as we were full from our mains. It was delicious with pistachios and honey. The staff was all super nice and gave great recommendations. There were plenty of seats inside and free parking outside. We decided we'll definitely be back and hope to try another item on the menu next!

I'm a big fan of Lyra, so I knew I'd love this place. We went pretty early and they were already busy. I had the chicken shawarma and one of their house made sodas. Everything was SO fresh and full of flavor. The hibiscus spiced soda was perfectly balanced (slightly sweet and just so many different flavors packed into it). I can't wait to go back and try more things. It's so nice to have Vega, Shotgun Willies and the hot dog place all in one spot.

Rode by and seen this place, so I decided to give it a try. I must say I was highly disappointed and expected better. The beef felt like it turned to mush when I bit into the wrap. The flavor wasn't really there and out of the various of other establishments similar to this, they didn't taste like this. I hate to say it seems like I wasted money. But I guess you never know unless you try it. It could very well be the newness and them needing to work out the kinks. Maybe sometime in the future I'll give them another try.

Our family tried a variety of items, I had the falafel sandwich and it was very tasty. I added hummus but it would have been flavorful with or without it. I also got a house made soda, very delicious! The seating and atmosphere is pretty average and comfortable enough for a casual dining spot. The gentleman at the counter was nice and answered all our questions. The service was pretty quick but not fast food quick.

This place is so cute and the employees are extremely nice. We both got the beef shawarma wrap and fries. The shawarma is dense, filling, and tasty. Definitely add worth adding the feta. The French fries are soooo good served hot and crispy. The garlic dip is very strong but addicting. Be ready to be a garlic ball! We will be back!

The food here is VERY good and fresh and yummy and delicious. I didn't realize it was the sister restaurant to Lyra! Definitely will be back.

The space is beautiful. Love aesthetic of the place. The staff is super friendly. They helped me figure out the menu on my first visit. The food came out fast and was wrapped to go. Shawarma style meat is delicious and the shawarma here has a good flavor. The thing was that I was hungry for a plate with rice. They don't do rice which is kind of a bummer. I suggest getting the garlic tahini. It's good.

So I finally stopped into Vega in Madison today. I've driven past this place probably a dozen times, always seeing the name but never pulling in. And I'll be honest: every time I saw "Vega," my brain just auto-filled "vegan" and I kept driving. Turns out? It's not a vegan restaurant at all, they've got meats, wraps, shawarma bowls, the whole thing. When I walked in, I asked the guy at the counter if they were vegetarian. He looked at me like, "No, we have everything." I told him, "Man, I would've come in here months ago if I knew that." I wasn't being rude, just real. I've got a degree in business administration, but honestly, you don't need one to spot when a branding decision might be costing you foot traffic. That name alone might be giving off the wrong impression to a lot of potential customers like me who just make a quick judgment on the signage. Anyway, I ordered the beef shawarma rice bowl. Flavor-wise? Solid. Meat was seasoned well, rice was fluffy, everything was fresh. But portion-wise? A little underwhelming, especially for the $19 price tag. That's creeping into premium lunch territory. For that price, I might just hit Chipotle, get a big ol' steak burrito, and still have enough left over for chips and guac for the value. Overall, the food is good -- no complaints on taste. But for Vega to stand out in a crowded plaza (and let's be real, in a city full of killer Middle Eastern spots), they might want to take a second look at how they're positioning themselves -- both in terms of branding and perceived value. Just my two cents from a first-time customer who almost never became one.

This restaurant is a hidden gym. It may be the best restaurant that I've ever eaten at in Madison Tennessee. The food was delicious. There is lots of seating and the restaurant is very bright and airy. The food came very quickly and I couldn't be more impressed.

I'd…read moresaved them in my Nashville bookmarks for some time after they received a lot of acclaim on Yelp - I believe at one time they were on a Yelp list of best restaurants in the US. We were certainly excited to try Uzbek food, as there's nowhere that serves it where we live. The restaurant doesn't look like too much from the outside and the parking lot is a little run down. However, the inside is very updated and super clean and comfortable. There's lots of seating, what appears to be a private room in the back, and some high-tech features, like a machine that you can use to alert waitstaff if you need a refill, a to-go box, or any other kind of attention. The bathrooms were also immaculate. Service was a little strange. I wouldn't say it was slow - every time we placed an order or had a request, our food or items were promptly brought out to us. However, the challenge came in getting the attention of our waitresses. Two ladies took care of us, alternating based on availability. One was very nice and friendly, the other a little gruff and irritable-seeming. But both were completely averse to coming in and checking on us without one of us flagging them down. Perhaps they're used to the little machines? I don't like using those because they come across as too demanding; I'd prefer to just be visited and checked in on from time to time by staff. Not so here. Despite not being very busy, our visit took a lot of time, even though the actual food service was fairly quick. Onto the food, the most important part. We ordered a lot because I wanted to experience as many unique dishes as possible. One waitress first brought out a complimentary serving of pita and what I believe was suzma, which the menu describes as a yogurt-based cheese. This was one of the highlights of our meal, actually, as the pita was hot, fresh, and very lightly charred. The suzma went very well with it. Then we ordered a chicken somsa and some Uzbek bread. The chicken somsa was alright; the pastry was delightfully flaky, but for me it was way too onion-forward. The Uzbek bread was another highlight. It was a temperature and textural delight - so warm and fluffy - if not a flavor bomb. It was great to polish off the remaining suzma from our complimentary treat. For entrees, my husband wanted to try the signature osh, while I ordered chicken shashlik. The osh was probably the better of the two but he didn't love it. It was quite greasy and the lamb was on the gamey side. My chicken shashlik had definitely been near charcoal too long; it had an overly-charred, unpleasant chemical-y taste. The accompanying rice had so much butter or oil in it that it was greasy, too, and although that imparted more flavor into it, I felt gross after a couple of bites. Everything was cooked well, just the flavors really didn't quite come together for us on this visit. It's hard for me to believe, given the average outstanding reviews and consistent praise this place gets, that our experience was an average one. Perhaps we just came on an off day or ordered the wrong things for our palates, since we're fairly unfamiliar with this cuisine. I would be willing to try again some day, but sadly our first visit didn't quite wow the way we'd hoped it would. I appreciate the clean and pretty environment and quickly prepared food!

The Alexandrian liver was the highlight of the meal. I've had liver before in traditional American-style dishes, and this was completely different. The flavor was spicy, layered, rich, and deeply savory with a lot of complexity from the seasoning. Most importantly, there was absolutely none of the metallic taste that usually comes with liver, which tells me the kitchen really knows how to prepare it properly. The bread was warmed rather than toasted, and while I personally prefer a little less bread so the flavor of the meat comes through even stronger, the bread had absorbed the juices and spices well and gave it a very authentic street-food feel. The kofta platter was also excellent and clearly not generic gyro-shop food. The seasoning profile was warmer, smokier, and more spice-forward, and the tahini paired really well with the grilled meat and rice. I also tried the Om Ali dessert, which tasted rich, homemade, and authentic. The cream, butter, coconut, and almonds gave it a rustic comfort-food quality that felt much more traditional than a polished American dessert. Overall, this restaurant feels like a real Egyptian kitchen preserving its identity instead of watering everything down for mass appeal. The Alexandrian liver alone is worth coming back for

I'l rank what we ordered from best-to-least (tho it was all good): 1. Baklava w/ Orange Blossom Yogurt dessert - as a dip (perfect pairing!) 2. Aromatic Grilled Fish (crispy & meaty!) 3. "Not Not a Margarita" (strong & tangy!) 4. Hummus w/ Minced Sirloin (unusual but awesome pairing!) 5. Lamb Shank (fall-off-the-bone tender... could be a tad crispier?) 6. Epice Old Fashioned (nice, but the marg ROCKED) The service was all-around excellent, can tell they have good teamwork. Great vibes, nice meal pace... the lady loved it, so couldn't ask for a better Valentine's date spot. Will return! 4.

OMG THIS PLACE IS SO GOOD!! I have been wanting to come here for years and I'm so glad I finally…read moredid! Everything we had was fantastic, with a few clear standouts. We started with the spinach fatayer, arnabeet, and the hummus beyrouti. The hummus beyrouti (classic hummus topped with chopped sirloin) was good, but not a standout--I'd probably try something else before ordering it again. The spinach fatayer and arnabeet, though, were great. As two people who don't usually love beets, the arnabeet totally surprised us--you really don't taste much beet, and the cauliflower shines. The spinach fatayer was fluffy with a perfectly seasoned filling. Our mains came with a small side of the Epice salad. It was fine, but probably wouldn't order it on its own. I got the za'atar roasted chicken and it was cooked perfectly--super moist on the inside with deliciously crispy skin. The yogurt sauce it sits on was amazing; I just wish there was more of it. Jonathan ordered the lamb shank, and wow. It was fall-off-the-bone tender and such a hearty, comforting cold-weather dish. Food came out so quickly--we were in and out in about an hour, which was a huge plus. We were too full for dessert, but everything looked incredible and definitely gives us a reason to come back. Shoutout to Steven for great service and spot-on recommendations. Great vibes and amazing food all around.
