Best mediterranean restaurant in the Valley! Their food is so fresh and good. Ive tried almost everything on the menu, and always get the craving to come back for more. Oh my gosh Im in love with their rice! And their side dishes, pickled radish, pickles, and fresh onions. The Mouhamara is my favorite side dish. I usually order the Lamb Kabob or the Ras Nana. Had lunch here a couple days ago. Had the chicken thigh plate. Food was excellent. Service was fast and friendly. The reason for 4 starts and not 5 was it was a little pricey. I came here to try the chicken kebab and was looking forward to a delicious experience. The place was clean, and we got seated very fast. First, soda... Comes in the can... No refills. Seriously? I have to pay for refills after charging me $2 for a $0.25 cent can? Very tacky. Second, the chicken... Looked good, but with the first bite, I felt the chewy middle, raw meat. Had to take the bite out of my mouth in front of all, and saw the outside was cooked, but inside was PINK RAW CHICKEN. I cut into the other pieces, and they were all raw in the middle. I didn't want to make a big deal of the situation, so I quietly, and with a smile, brought it up to the water, and asked to get another plate of the same chicken kebab. To my utter surprise, instead of getting a new, fresh cooked chicken kebab, I got the SAME PIECES from my previous plate back, each of them cut in the middle by the cook, and cooked again. Seriously? Why the heck would you not make a new skewer of chicken and instead cook the same pieces???? Now the inside is cooked, but the outside is BURNT!! And who know who and how they touched the food when it was sent back the first time!! Needless to say, I didn't eat my food, ate the hummus appetizer (which is overpriced but good), paid for the whole meal without making a big deal about it (but did tell the waiter why I didn't eat my meal), and left. I have to say, though, to be fair, other people in my party did enjoy their food (which were not the same as mine), however, the very bad and poor customer service mistake of recooking the same food, left a very bad impression for me, along with the bad taste of the raw chicken. I do want to give this place another chance, but this experience keeps holding me back. read more

I was too tired to drive to my regular go to spot "Sepan" in Atwater Village. I turned to Yelp to see if I could find something close to me that was worth trying for take out. I have to say, if it wasn't for Yelp, I would have never found this place. It is tucked inside of a small shopping center behind a gas staton. I ordered the chicken breast Kebob dinner and a side of hummus. The chicken was well seasoned and extremely fresh & juicy. I didn't even need a knife. The rice pilaf was also cooked well. Based upon the reviews from fellow Yelpers I had truly hoped this would be a great restaurant. The service was dismal at best and the corresponding wait for our food was further insult to injury. The grilled food was probably the best part of the afternoon. The rice had not settled and the appetizers are most definitely small and meant for sharing between two-three people - order more for larger groups. Had my brothers birthday dinner here today. We were about 12 people. The service was amazing. Super fast and on point. Our waitress was a sweetheart. Loved the homey feeling I got from the place. Very cozy. And most importantly, the food. It was very delicious. I'm Syrian/Armenian so I grew up eating these foods and I know what they're supposed to taste like. My very dear friend took me to lunch here today; I'm new in the area and I've been searching for good places to eat. First, parking is a great challenge, but there is room around the corner near the Big Lots. Second, it gets very busy around lunchtime and we waited a few minutes. But the wait was worth it. We ordered babaganouj, hummus, muhamara, lula kebab and lamb kebab along with house salad, which surprisingly and delightfully came with sumac. I had the doog to drink and we finished with Armenian coffees. The hummus was a little lemony for me, but silky smooth; the babaganouj was excellent. The thing I was most worried about was the muhamara; I am very picky about that and also about my lamb. The muhamara was a delight! I've only had it this good a few times before! And the lamb was extremely delicious, marinated very well and very tender. I've found my "go to" middle eastern place! Now, if only they would serve kibbeh, I would have been in heaven! We happened upon this restaurant accidentally but were certainly not let down by our experience. It was fantastic. To begin with, our waitress was extremely friendly and hospitable. She made excellent recommendations and even brought us a couple of small samples to try. We had the Adana kebab, Babaganoush, Greek salad and Mouhamara. Everything was just great.
