    so much food

My foodie friends told mom and I to try this place because of their pickled veggies and rice. When we arrived, we were seated immediately. We shared the lamb with rice, chicken, fries, and boreg. Oh My God were my friends right. My mouth was so happy. The meat was just meat. Definitely delicious, but my heart belongs to the rice, fries, and boreg. That rice was so buttery. Wonderful comfort food. The boreg was the best I've ever had. They add peppers inside, so it's more than just a fried cheese. Wonderful! I'm not normally a shoestring fry person, but these were perfect. Not overly crispy, but not a soggy mess either. Our waitress was also so attentive and super passionate about the food. I want to come back.

The food here is some of the best! We had the chicken breast kebab, steak kebab, cheese plate and labneh. My husband and nephew both had the baklava and tea after our dinner. The chicken is always nice and juicy, their rice is some of the best I've ever had. Steak is cooked perfectly. The service is always spectacular. The location is clean, a little on the smaller side. The restrooms are always spotless. Which is huge for us.

A while back, I was at a car dealership and I met a Middle Eastern gentleman who was very entertaining. During our long conversation, he mentioned Kebab Halebi.... so I had to check it out. this is a Syrian Mediterranean restaurant. We got cucumber salad and hummus (house made) for appetizers and then ordered the Adana kebab. This dish comes with four kebabs, and has as described, a special blend of ground, beef and lamb, seasoned and mixed with chopped jalapeños and red peppers and flame broiled on a skewer served with onion, tomato, pita and rice pilaf. The hummus was nice and silky, melted in your mouth. The cucumber salad was also very well done the kebabs had nice presentation and color, but were overcooked and dry to the tongue. I saw no jalapeños or red peppers. Service was swift and friendly.

My first time here! Always open to trying new Middle Eastern food!!! My sis said it was delicious. Well, she was correct. We ordered several plates so they separated each item. Looked like we were having a catered affair! Generous portion of rice, pita bread, pickled cabbage, Persian cucumbers and radishes. The chicken and beef come with the garlic spread as well which is yummy. So good to dip your meat or pita bread with. I am not a fan of the pickled veggies but my family likes them. (It's an acquired taste) Pick up is easy once you order online. Plenty of parking in the lot. Prices are moderate and you can eat inside if you prefer to be served.

The restaurant is never that busy, but don't let that fool you, because every time I've passed by, it's mostly people grabbing takeout. Their menu is very limited. I got the beef-lamb shawarma. For 6 inches, it's not a ton of food but it's a fair amount. There was a good amount of beef and lamb which was cooked really tender, and I liked the combination of sauce and vegetables they used. The taste wasn't overwhelming and I don't think it needed anything additional. They even have Sriracha sauce on the side which I used and it added a nice flavor kick. He shared that he's from Syria, which I really respected due to the authenticity.

I did this as a pickup run with the spot right next door, Brot. And honestly... I liked Brot more. This place has always been weird to me because I walk past it almost daily. Sometimes it's kinda busy, and sometimes it's literally just four dudes standing outside smoking cigarettes. There's never really an in-between. They also keep adding more sidewalk tables which makes it feel like they're expecting a crowd that never fully arrives. This is definitely more street-food energy than restaurant energy. You're basically eating with your hands outside on Hollywood Blvd and there's nowhere to wash up beforehand, which honestly matters less if you're doing takeout anyway. I also kinda wonder if the neighboring spots share stuff with each other because some things looked suspiciously similar. The fries looked basically identical between here and Brot, so who knows. That said, the food was still hot by the time I got home, which already puts it above a lot of pickup spots around here. But yeah... overall I still liked Brot more.

Meanwhile, there were 5 or 6 employees standing behind the counter laughing and chatting while customers were left trying to figure out how to place their own orders on the tablet and clean their own tables. We ordered 3 sandwiches and only got 2. After waiting 20 minutes for the missing sandwich, I asked to cancel it since everyone was already done eating. Instead of apologizing, the staff started lecturing us and asking if we owned a restaurant because they don't apparently bring the whole order together, which makes no sense. You don't halfa$$ an order when you're serving sandwiches... argued about refund and refused to process it Yes, mistakes happen. But when customers are doing the cleaning, teaching themselves how to order, and still not getting their food, that's not a mistake--it's terrible management. Poor cleanliness, awful service, and zero accountability. Avoid this place.

I've had wraps here and there but, never have I had a wrap as good as the one I've had here. As soon as the took my first bite, my head started nodding up and down. There is no lack of seasoning in any of food and everything a depth of flavor I've never experienced before. You can feed 1-2 people with either the beef shawarma or chicken shawarma plate. When in Sherman oaks this has become one of my go-to spots for flavorful Mediterranean food. My must-order items are the hummus, Brussels sprouts, Moroccan fried chicken, rice, and of course the pita you absolutely have to get the pita. I've also tried the watermelon salad, which was excellent, though I think it's seasonal. The fried cauliflower, however, is a hard pass for me. Something about the Brussels sprouts here is next-level, they're honestly some of the most flavorful I've ever had in my life. I could easily eat the whole dish myself. I also love that many items come as small plates, which makes them perfect for sharing. The Moroccan fried chicken is another standout it is super flavorful and pairs perfectly with the rice, hummus, and pita. Now, the service is where this place falls short. The last few times I've visited, the experience hasn't been great. The older blonde woman with very short hair has been particularly unpleasant, and when I visited the week before Thanksgiving, the overall service was especially bad. They have parking in the back and it's shared with other businesses and it is a paid parking so you pay at the little parking kiosk. Even with the inconsistent service, the food keeps me coming back. All in all, Mizlala is a great place for delicious dishes, and I would still recommend it just be prepared for service that can be hit or miss.
