I was in the area on Friday for an appointment. My colleague said drive down to Sherman way there's a really good Mediterranean place. So sure ill try it and I'm so glad I did. I ordered the beef kabob lunch special that comes with two sides. Very very good quality beef. I was actually very surprised by the rice it wasn't what I expected. But extras were delicious the house salad so fresh. The veggies at the table as a free appetizer "loved them" I can tell lunch gets busy so get there with patience and time. My foodie friends told mom and I to try this place because of their pickled veggies and rice. When we arrived, we were seated immediately. We shared the lamb with rice, chicken, fries, and boreg. Oh My God were my friends right. My mouth was so happy. The meat was just meat. Definitely delicious, but my heart belongs to the rice, fries, and boreg. That rice was so buttery. Wonderful comfort food. The boreg was the best I've ever had. They add peppers inside, so it's more than just a fried cheese. Wonderful! I'm not normally a shoestring fry person, but these were perfect. Not overly crispy, but not a soggy mess either. Our waitress was also so attentive and super passionate about the food. The food here is some of the best! We had the chicken breast kebab, steak kebab, cheese plate and labneh. My husband and nephew both had the baklava and tea after our dinner. The chicken is always nice and juicy, their rice is some of the best I've ever had. Steak is cooked perfectly. The service is always spectacular. The location is clean, a little on the smaller side. EDIT JANUARY 2025: My family has now been dining at this family owned restaurant for a decade now. I will jokingly say, the biggest negative of this restaurant is that it has officially ruined every other Mediterranean & middle eastern restaurant for us. We love it here THAT much. No matter how often we try other places (usually on a Monday, when they're closed), we always want to come back here. The prices have been rising steadily, as has everything around us unfortunately. But one thing that hasn't changed is how incredible their food is, how massive the portions are, what a bang for your buck you get, & how wonderful their service is. The owner & his mom are simply the best, always have a smile, & always so kind & know ahead of time what we want. We do a catering order/family style order quite often, either for holidays or celebrations, and the food is always a hit with EVERYONE. In the few VERY rare times over the past 10 years that some things were not up to their usual quality, they did everything they could to make things right! That speaks volumes at not only how amazing the food is, but how great the owners are. Their lunch special is phenomenal, especially for the price. Literally a few bucks more than what fast food restaurants are now charging for a "combo" meal, but here you get a home cooked gourmet feast. You can't go wrong with anything. Their tender beef filet & chicken thigh kabobs are our favorite. We like chicken breast as well, which is very delicious here, but love that this is one of the rare few restaurants that also offer chicken thigh, which is juicier and more flavorful than breast. Their buttery & fluffy rice pilaf is so "simple" yet is simply the best. Having it soak up the kabob juices or their amazing toum/garlic sauce is the best! Also love the pickles & turnips and other pickled veggies they serve as a free appetizer, along with onion slices. You can't go wrong with this restaurant. It's simple & straightforward. The portions are massive. The taste and flavors & quality of everything, especially their masterful kabobs, is exquisite. I hope Kebab Halebi stays open forever. read more

A while back, I was at a car dealership and I met a Middle Eastern gentleman who was very entertaining. During our long conversation, he mentioned Kebab Halebi.... so I had to check it out. this is a Syrian Mediterranean restaurant. We got cucumber salad and hummus (house made) for appetizers and then ordered the Adana kebab. This dish comes with four kebabs, and has as described, a special blend of ground, beef and lamb, seasoned and mixed with chopped jalapeños and red peppers and flame broiled on a skewer served with onion, tomato, pita and rice pilaf. The hummus was nice and silky, melted in your mouth. The cucumber salad was also very well done the kebabs had nice presentation and color, but were overcooked and dry to the tongue. I saw no jalapeños or red peppers. Service was swift and friendly. read more

My first time here! Always open to trying new Middle Eastern food!!! My sis said it was delicious. Well, she was correct. We ordered several plates so they separated each item. Looked like we were having a catered affair! Generous portion of rice, pita bread, pickled cabbage, Persian cucumbers and radishes. The chicken and beef come with the garlic spread as well which is yummy. So good to dip your meat or pita bread with. I am not a fan of the pickled veggies but my family likes them. We came to the shopping center to a different store and on our way back to the car and a lady with short black hair that came out of Kebab Halebi and asked if we were eating at the Latino food truck that's parked on the street...#1 we felt racially profiled. I don't know what fake and homeless people been placing 5 starts for this crap of a thing called "food" and I rate them 1 star . I only visited once and was new to the area . Wanted to try Mediterranean Food , the place is owned by Persians but the food was old and made me sick . The meat they used could have been at least month old , so they keep it stored in fridge till customer comes and they use old meet till they start using new meat that way they sell trash old meat to you and save money , only fresh there was rice and that I can make at home . Another one of my favorite spots in the valley. Anytime we're in town to visit family we usually either come here for lunch or take out. Pretty much everything is good here but my go to is definitely the lamb and chicken. Super random but their fries I swear is one of the best I've ever had. Service is always excellent. After coming there a few times they really do treat you like family. Never had any issues with wait times. They've increased their dining room so now it's more spacious but on weekends it does get busy. Highly recommend :) read more

TLDR: Food is great. Bit pricey but maybe worth it. Really really like this place! Food is great and will give you the feeling that it was made with a lot of care. Flavors and seasoning are great. I have tried the chicken thigh and beef kababs, tabbouleh, falafel babaganoush and hummus and I think the babaganoush is particularly outstanding. The service was pretty standard, nothing particularly outstanding just your normal "as expected" good service. Staff is helpful and willing to answer questions. The do not sell the entrees as a side meaning if you want an extra kabab, they won't sell it to you individually, you would have to order a whole other plate. Think they need to reconsider this. I personally do not fully understand this. The ambiance gives local spot. Seems like many regulars are here from the way it vibes when you enter which is neither good or bad for me, it just what it is. The bathroom is clean and doesn't smell which is remarkable I suppose. Parking is a bit more difficult since they are in a strip mall that's maybe a bit smaller than most but that's not on them. It is what it is. At least its free. read more

Love kebab halebi! The pickled veggies they give at the beginning are so good. Their rice is the best rice I've ever had. It is soooo buttery. Their meat options are good too, just wish they wouldn't overcook them. I like my meat rare but it always tends to come out medium or more :( Luckily it still tastes really good. My favorite is the ras nana-a patty of ground beef and lamb with a lemon juice sauce poured over it. It is very flavorful and juicy. And the ashta dessert is good too! read more

My GF and I love mediterranean food and eat it weekly. We live right in L Balboa so when we were told to come here we were so happy to live only blocks away. their food is wonderfl. we had the kash-kash kebab which was tender and perfectly seasoned, on a bed of delish rice. we also had the jalik (spelling) and their signature salad all of which was delicious and the portions were excellent. Love seeing the family there cooking. The interior is nothing special, so what. the food was great. parking is tough because strip mall, but there was plenty of action the night we were there. This review is for a delivery order I received from this restaurant -- I ordered the lule kebab, chicken thigh kebab, an extra order of rice, and ashta (one of my fave desserts of all time). I have to say I was very grateful for the generous portion size of all of the food. I even asked for extra garlic sauce and they gave me a generous portion of that condiment as well! My family loved all of the food, the chicken was was well-seasoned and the lule kebab was also tasty. The ashta was also delicious and the berries/fruit were nice and fresh. Chatting with my bff, I mentioned I was going to my Van Nuys office for the day and she insisted I go try this place for lunch. So knowing her good taste in food and my love for kebabs, I forced my coworkers to come with me. The restaurant is in a small shopping center with other small restaurants nearby. Parking is a nightmare during the lunch time hour so you may need to be patient and wait a little. Once inside, we were seated right away (party of 3). We looked through our menus and ordered lunch specials, which are smaller portions of the main menu. I skipped the rice and added a side of tabbouleh which was a huge portion. We also added a basket of fries for the table. Food came out pretty quick. The shish kebab was really good. Meat was tender and deliciously marinated. I had the beef lule kebab and I was surprised on how oily it was. It was good but seeing the oil in my plate did make me lose my appetite a little. Fries were crispy and delicious. The tabbouleh was missing a bit of that tangy taste most places add to it that I love. Hummus was good but our pita was hard and some of it stale. I should have asked for fresh pita but didn't see our waiter on time to ask. I made sure to leave space for dessert when I saw they had Ashta on the menu. It was super yummy. The fruit was so fresh I could have had two on my own! But I did not, I shared the one with my coworkers and ate most of it myself . All in all, it was a decent meal and I do plan on returning for more dessert and next time I'll order the chicken kebab or the beef shish kebab. read more
