This is a true gem--fabulous and fresh, the cuisine here transcends the usual Middle East cuisine. The vegetable dishes are an amazing fusion of Israeli cookery. Warm and friendly service, family style dishes, and a beautiful space with a real tanoor oven behind the counter, beers on tap, and all kosher! The eponymous meat "sandwiches" really stand out for utter oniony deliciousness! We'll be back!

Incredible food! Wow I have never had such incredible food in my life. The lehmejoun is amazing. The owner was so nice and hospitable. I loved sitting at the bar to watch to soccer game. Great experience. 10/10 recommend.

I'm so glad I found this spot because it was ridiculously good. I've eaten at Miznon and Saffy's and I was hoping Arais would live up to them, and it did not disappoint. I've never had an Arais before so I was intrigued. It's basically like a chicken, herby meatball baked into a pita. The two sauces included tahini and chimichurri. They both were a great addition and the tahini might have been some of the best I've ever had. The chicken was cooked perfectly and came out hot and juicy.

Arais Machane Yehuda LA, is a unique, one of a kind, Israeli Restaurant, serving food that is not found anywhere, in the SFV or even in LA. It gets its name and style of cooking simple Israeli food, from the famous market, of the same name, in Jerusalem. Important to note that Arais (Arayes), is actually a street food. Essentially, a homemade small triangular pita, stuffed with succulent meat, then freshly baked on a continuous rotating large plate, at the center of a gas fire clay oven called the "taboon". The menu here is very basic, but high in quality, ingredients and freshness. There are also other offerings. The owner is charming and most welcoming to all the patrons. Yes, there is love and affection. He has personality, that you hardly ever see in any restaurant. Providing complimentary tastings of his items, while you wait for their preparation and production, to go. In my case, small portions of the warm garbanzo beans with freshly made (silky and smooth) hummus, then pickles and onions, also with dipping. Both fantastic. If you do not get Arias when you are here, you are missing the point, or maybe in the wrong place. My choice was Lamb Arias, to go. 4 crisp and charred triangular pieces fresh off the taboon, accompanied with regular and green tahini sauces, and a small, unimpressive tomato onion salad ($26). The lamb meat was juicy, well seasoned and cooked perfect. Also, as a side, I added the Potatoes "Medura" ($7). This was truly amazing. Thick longitudinal wedges, well browned on the outside and soft on the inside. Overall, an unforgettable experience. Excellent service, fantastic food, and an unforgettable warm and comfortable experience.

If you're into bold, meat-heavy bites with serious flavor, Arais Machane Yehuda absolutely delivers. The ribeye arais was the standout--crispy, toasted pita on the outside with insanely juicy, well-seasoned ribeye packed inside. Every bite had that perfect balance of crunch and richness, and it didn't need much sauce, but the dips on the side took it up another level. The lamb arais was just as impressive--slightly more gamey (in a good way), super tender, and loaded with spices that gave it a deep, savory kick. You can tell they're not holding back on quality or flavor here. The sides tied everything together--the fresh tomato salad cut through the richness, and the pickles and sauces added that extra punch to keep every bite interesting. Overall, this spot is all about simple food done really right--crispy, juicy, flavorful, and satisfying. Definitely a must if you're craving something hearty and different.

AMAZING FOOD!!! The food was amazing--everything we ordered tasted so good and was full of flavor. Even the simplest of dishes turned out exquisite, which really speaks to the quality and care put into the food. The staff were very friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout the entire visit, which made the experience even better. I will definitely be going back and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great meal. UPDATE: Went back again today with two friends and it definitely did not disappoint! The food was just as amazing as the first time--perfectly seasoned and everything tasted so good. My friends loved it. Isaac and the entire staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. It truly has that mom-and-pop feel, and they treat you like family every time. Highly recommend!

What a gem! We had such a fantastic experience at Arais Machne Yehuda in Tarzana. We went for the $40 per person pre-fixe menu and every bite was a total hit, from the fresh salads to the juicy, flavorful meats and all the little surprises in between. You can tell everything is made with care and love. The vibe is warm, casual, and full of Israeli soul, but what truly stood out was the hospitality. Isaac, the owner, is the real deal, so friendly, welcoming, and clearly passionate about his food and customers. He made us feel like family. If you're looking for a fun night out with incredible food and good energy, run (don't walk) to Arais. We're already planning our next visit!

Drove here for an early birthday lunch with my daughter. Both owners were present and made us feel right at home. They gave us a tour, explained the menu and suggested the items we should try. Everyone was so kind, and every suggestion hit. They have been in this location for 10 months, and I see longevity in their future if they make everyone feel like they did us. If you are in the area please give them a try. *Parking on the street, but more in the back.

Loved the very lively atmosphere and absolutely loved the food. Instant explosion in flavor in all the plates. The potatoes, the rib eye , the sampler dips and vegetables... all delicious and high quality. This gem is just full of explosive deliciousness my taste buds were loving it. From the very entrance the owner is so lively and welcoming giving me his recommendations that did not disappoint. Highly recommend !

That's why I was excited to bring my girlfriend and her friend here today. Unfortunately, this experience was completely different. Our waiter, Amir, barely checked on our table. His greeting and every interaction with us felt monotone, rushed, and completely lacking any warmth. There wasn't a single smile or welcoming gesture throughout the meal. At one point, I walked to the restroom and, on my way back, saw the same waiter enthusiastically speaking Farsi and providing attentive, friendly service to several other tables. The contrast between how those tables were treated and how we were treated was impossible to ignore. Based on my experiences here, it certainly felt like customers who are Persian or speak Farsi receive a much warmer level of service than those who don't. The food is still good, but service is a big part of the dining experience. I left disappointed, especially after recommending this place to others. Unless you speak Farsi or are Persian expect mediocre to poor service. This shoutout is for you Amir! Hopefully management reads this review.

However, after I arrived, I was informed that they actually didn't have either item. It was frustrating to make the trip based on incorrect information. To make matters worse, our waiter, who was an older Hispanic man, was rude and dismissive throughout the visit. Instead of trying to help or apologizing for the misinformation, he made the experience feel uncomfortable and unwelcoming. Good customer service starts with accurate communication and treating guests with respect, and unfortunately this restaurant fell short on both. I hope the restaurant improves its communication with customers and provides better customer service in the future, but based on my experience, I don't plan on returning.

I am very big on looking at food photos before choosing a restaurant, and the owner had posted so many great pictures that we decided to give Monaia a try. I only wish the photos included the names of the dishes, especially for anyone who may not be familiar with Lebanese food. I went with my husband and my in-laws, and we really enjoyed everything we ordered. When my husband asked our waiter if there was anything we absolutely had to try, he told us we had already chosen everything he would have recommended! We shared the Muhammara, Cheese Rolls, Fried Kibbeh, Makanek (Lebanese Sausage), Arayess, Kibbeh Nayyeh, and the Mixed Grill. My mother-in-law loved the Fattoush Salad, and since I love cheese, the Cheese Rolls were an easy favorite for me. I also ordered the Chicken Shawarma Sandwich, which was delicious. They finished our meal with some homemade Baklava- which was a great sweet treat! One thing that really stood out was the Toum (Lebanese garlic sauce). I've had garlic paste at quite a few Mediterranean restaurants over the years, but this was hands down the most flavorful version I've ever had. I ate it with everything on the table! The service was good, and everyone was very friendly. They were preparing for a large crowd arriving around 2:00 p.m., and it was wonderful to see every table begin filling up, especially since this is a newer restaurant. They also did a beautiful job decorating the space. I loved all the photos on the walls, and even the bathroom felt warm, homey, and thoughtfully decorated. We will definitely be back!
