That's when I saw it--a baby rattlesnake right in front of us. It hadn't moved yet, but my dog had already sensed it. This is exactly the kind of response he learned during his training with Dustin. As soon as the rattler started to rattle, my dog immediately turned and pulled me away from the danger. Without that training, this situation could have ended very differently. The snake was nearly invisible among the shrubs and rocks on the trail. I'm incredibly grateful for the training--it truly made all the difference today. Dustin's training is truly top-notch--absolutely deserving of 5 stars! I'll definitely be coming back. His rattlesnake avoidance training is as real and effective as it gets. We brought our 6 month old, male Catahoula to board and train for fear-based issues and general disrespect due to lack of socialization opportunities (thanks covid). We had a scared, pushy a*hole on our hands and 3 weeks later, we had a respectful quasi-gentleman returned to us. Full spunk and happy disposition intact. Our Golden Retriever puppy, Maple, was out of control with biting, destroying everything from her blankets, her toys, our backyard landscape, and even the walls and base molding around the house. We tried to take her on walks but she would pull us around the neighborhood, and every little distraction scared her to death. We've owned four other Goldens in the past and never experienced this kind of wild behavior. Then came Ryan... he assured us that this behavior could be corrected with the right leadership, so we signed up for his two-week boot camp experience. The two weeks seemed like forever but when he brought her home she was our same familiar Maple but oh what a difference in her demeanor and behavior. Then Ryan followed up with us a week later and he reviewed with us all of our challenges that we were still experiencing. We quickly realized the problem wasn't Maple, it was us. Lots of little details like how to properly sync the electronic collar with the clicker, and keeping our finger on the clicker button so that we could engage it in a timely manner, etc. Once we got the hands-on training that we needed, Maple has transformed into a sweet, calm and well-behaved Golden Retriever. Thanks Ryan for your expertise and your expert training techniques. Ryan really understands how to train your dog in a positive manner so that you can reward their good behavior instead of reacting to the dog's misbehavior. Now we're looking forward to our weekly Saturday morning park instructions with several other dogs and all kinds of normal distractions that Maple will have to deal with when we take her out for walks, fun and play. We've had no out-of-control barking incidents; he can be tethered and remain quiet. He's very good on walks, moving from "heel" to "break" and back to "heel" again. He's very responsive to the "off" command, which we use primarily to keep him off the furniture and out of the kitchen. Last week we had friends over for dinner and after his initial excitement he was a good boy, lying nearby content and chewing on a bone. We even attended the Humane Society Walk for Animals at Kit Carson Park, and with hundreds of dogs and people and non-stop activities, he was again a very well-behaved boy. We are so appreciative of the work that Michelle did with Monty. He is now the dog we always hoped he would be - happy, well-behaved, and living his best life!

I recently reached out to Chris for advice on redirecting Chewie when greeting people since he sometimes forgets his manners and has no sense of personal space. Chris took the time to demonstrate effective techniques and offered practical solutions I'll be implementing right away. Chewie and I are incredibly grateful for Chris's continued support and the excellent training from Cosmo K-9 Obedience. Chewie has come a long way.
