I asked for my hair length to be to my chest, layers, balayage, and style based off jennifer lopez. I got 6 inches off my hair and it seemed like the hair stylist just wanted to do what she wanted. The color is fantastic no doubt but the hair cut is awful. You can fix color but i cant put my hair back. Its clear they are used to doing to only one kind of haircut and are unavailable to listen to requests or even work with thicker hair. Absolutely ridiculous. NO! I would have been a new client. I need a hair cut and a color yesterday. I've been putting this off due to commitments and an extremely busy schedule. I called the salon and was told I first need to send in pictures of my hair and make a consultation appointment which is "complimentary." They then schedule the appointment on another day for the cut and the color. For someone who has an ultra busy schedule and is squeezing appointments in on their calendar, this doesn't work. What a waste of time. Unless you are not employed, have no outside commitments and have the ability to run up to this place several times, don't bother to call. read more

The services I receive are always great quality, however, I never know how much my final bill will be. I go in expecting an estimated cost based on the services I requested, but my hairdresser always adds an extra 'gloss' or 'treatment' to my hair without asking, and my bill is significantly higher. I think they are very reasonable for the Burr Ridge market and they often have specials which everyone should take advantage of! I love Aveda and I think Keema does a great job upholding Aveda standards. My only suggestion- I wish they would offer longer hand massages (or even a neck massage) while waiting to be processed :). Not a very professional salon for more than one reason. 1. Came in and scheduled an appointment for a Consult for ongoing maintenance of my extensions. Asked for a separate extension specialist and colorist. They insisted on putting me with one person. I just moved here from California, and needed to get established with a new salon. I scheduled my Consult with one stylist, and they gave me her business card. 2. Consult: The Consult went fine, but I did notice at a later date that this was NOT the stylist I was originally booked with! The stylist (I thought) would be fine and made me feel somewhat comfortable, and I even showed her my prior colorist's notes to make it EASY. I was told that they only use Aveeda hair products, but she could "figure out" a comparable formula. I explained HOW LONG it takes to tighten my extensions, and that I like to do my color and extensions on separate appointments. I'm CONVINCED it's no problem, and it would be better to do both services at once. 3. Appointment: Well, where do I start? Apparently "the manager" (her words, not mine) squeezed in two additional appointments during my allotted time only leaving 30 minutes for extensions, and not much time at all for color. I was very specific in saying it takes 60-75 minutes to tighten my hair, but apparently this was not taken into account. So the stylist (who I wish not to name) did like THE WORST, most frazzled tightening on my hair. Half of the extensions weren't even put into the cylinder properly, and the cylinders she did replace (only three by the way) were WHITE. Because she was also so rough with my hair, my head hurt like hell. Then she proceeded to do my base bump with the color IN A BOTTLE (not a bowl + brush). So as I'm basically in massive amounts of pain, she proceeds to ruin my hair color by essentially coloring my dark blond roots gray. Gray! And because of the sloppy application job, I have random gray stripes throughout my hair! But this isn't the half of it. After almost getting scalped during my blow dry, I got in the car and put my seatbelt on and one of my extensions came out. No joke. The same extensions I just paid to have tightened. I was so mortified that I didn't even want to get out of the car and bring my hair in the salon. Then the next day, two extensions came out. The following day, some more. I finally had to call my old stylist back in California to beg her to call the extension manufacturer to find out who buys the most hair in a 10 mile radius. After a visit to a new stylist and a separate colorist, it has been determined that a) my extensions have been ruined by the color application and not properly putting the hair in the cylinders so I need to purchase new hair, b) I need corrective color. Three weeks after my appointment I've had about 20 extensions come out that have had to be set aside and put back in by my new stylist at a different salon. And, my new hair is on order a few months earlier than it needed to be replaced. When I called to cancel my appointments, no one bothered to ask me why. I hate to leave scathing reviews, but this salons level of service is ultimately costing me A LOT of money. read more

This salon is terrific, however the tipping process is terrible. You can't leave a tip on your credit card receipt, you need to either tip in cash or write a separate check or walk across the street to an ATM. Unfortunately, for me, I received the worst or one of the worst highlights in my entire life! I am not young either so I started when I was very young having my hair highlighted with a cap by my best friend when I was 18. Yes, I should have complained a couple days after washing my hair and viewing on how dark my roots still were. Jordan styled my hair in such a way they did not really show up as dark after I washed, dried and styled my hair. I figured if you can't do it right the first time, then forget it and will MOVE ON!! The cut was okay. Just a blunt cut. She wanted to cut it in layers and I did not want that at all! We move frequently (approximately every 3 years from different states for 34 years). My husband is a veteran and it seems as though he is still active duty. Anyway, with much anticipation and high anxiety, I was recommended by the receptionist (big mistake) to let Jordan color my hair. She told me she had 10 years experience. Jordan said she had 6 years experience while she was highlighting my hair. I have extremely heavy highlights and she was the fourth hair stylist I had been to. Nothing great about any of them. It is very, very hard to find a good hair colorist and stylist! When I saw Jordan, I had lived in the Chicago suburb area for a 1 year and 7 months. She colored approximately 10% of my roots UNBELIEVABLE! They were still dark and looked as though I never even had highlights done at ALL! This was in February of 2016 and this review is long overdue. I have rarely left my house since that very depressing experience, but now am in search for a someone who really knows how to highlight my hair (heavily) and make sure it is not brassy or gold or platinum. My highlights, that were barely visible looked more platinum. So, in other words, I looked like I had more gray in my dark brown roots which were about 2.5" long at the time. Now I have the 2.5" hair that was barely highlighted along with another 2" of dark roots. So we are talking approximately 4.5" of very dark hair with very heavy highlights from the end of my roots down to the ends (very blond). No attractive with 4.5" of dark roots and very blond processed bleached hair. My hair is damaged because of four incompetent hair stylists which I will not name them all. I should, to spare others from the ineptness and uneducated colorists which one in particular had 40 years experience that was located in Westmont! I just do not understand how these people hold on to their jobs and some actually own a salon! WHAT??? The tipping experience was not convenient either. You cannot leave a tip on your credit card receipt. It has to be cash only and there are usually two people you have to tip. I believe this is to protect the hair stylists, trainees and others to be able not to report their tips as well as the salon not having to separate the tips from the total to our wonderful IRS! Oh, by the way, the total cost was over $300.00 and I purchased 3 Aveda products. I don't know why since I cannot think of one Aveda product that I have ever really liked in the past! This was with a 25% discount for being a "first time client" in their salon as well! NEVER AGAIN!!!!! I can only hope and pray and search on line for a salon that has excellent reviews. I am now going to try to find an "owner" who has years of experience and a 5 star review wherever that may be. If that is even possible! I could not deal with more stress, frustration, depression and appalling results again on my thin, fine, extremely damaged hair done by stylists since I have lived here since July of 2014!! Jordan was nice and she is cute. Her hair is cut like Pink and she even resembles her a bit. But I still find it hard to believe that she is a "color specialist" and teaches. I am so regretful that I ever went to Keema Aveda Salon in Burr Ridge, IL!!! read more

Absolutely love this place. My sister has been going here for the longest and her hair always looks amazing. I'm glad I finally went and got my hair done by Jordan! The atmosphere is peaceful and the salon is beautiful. I couldn't get over how nice the staff is. I had a vision in mind and Jordan helped me peace it together. She executed what I wanted perfectly, she is beyond talented. As are the other stylists work I saw. They have a bunch of products that are plant based and natural. (They smell amazing too) You're offered beverages and hand massages too. Overall it's a very pleasant experience. Salon Efthimia is an amazing salon! Cynthia has been doing my hair for years and every cut is better than the one before! She is so consistent (which I think is key when it comes to my hair). She is efficient and on time and always makes me feel and look great. She did my hair for many of my important events, including my engagement party, my wedding, etc., and I still look at pictures and remember how much I loved my hair on those days. I have mix reviews/feelings at this salon. I started coming here in high school. My first time I got my hair colored and styled for Prom. I liked it a lot!!!! (I'm 21 years old now) And to be completely honest I am not loyal to anyone particular here. I have tried everyone here. My favorite colorists are Alyssa and Kim. My least favorite is Jordan. (Sorry) I don't click with you and I didn't feel a good nor warm energy with you. (Hey, just being honest). I live not far (in Hinsdale) so I stop in on occasion. The salon has great amenities but I feel it could be managed better. The products are great!!! I read the reviews below and I feel it's on mark. This is a high end salon-so don't be surprised its $200-$300 for color. Cash tip is customary anywhere you go. I did find the one review "contradictive". For someone to give rave reviews to a colorist/stylist they are loyally going to (four times) in four months and then to say: "I was at the salon yesterday for an express keratin treatment." because "(My hair is DRY DRY DRY, i.e., FRIZZY)". I had to speak up. In my opinion, reading this sounds like someone working there or (relative of) wrote it. And it sounds like an advertisement to an upsell for a salon service. If you see an outstanding colorist/stylist for (several) months and then you say your hair is "DRY DRY DRY, i.e., FRIZZY" (Whoa! RED FLAG!!!!) Sorry, it sounds really fishy. I had the keratin treatment done. It is EXPENSIVE, but really GOOD!!!! However, my hair has never be "dry or frizzy" using Aveda products. (I have naturally curly Italian hair). Reading this particular review I had to speak up. (Nice try) I would have given this salon 3 star because I have had some good experiences in the past. But not every visit was that great. I truly was not impressed. I do agree: The Aveda products are great. The complimentary beverages too. Everyone was friendly but (It's not much of a difference from other salons I visited.) I thought it was AVERAGE. The service performed by Jordan was DECENT (not stellar). For a higher end salon (cost approx. $300 for hair color plus tip) it is average. My good friend came to Keema on a different occasion and had her hair styled and colored also by Jordan. My friend is a professional model and wanted dimensional (Blonde) color but was NOT happy at all with Jordan. In her own words a (Big Let Down). She complained that the color was good the first few days but it started to fade. (She bought ALL the products they told her to buy and followed the care that was suggested). Overall, a great salon location and great products but not so great on color. Everyone is smiley and friendly here (of course)...after all, who doesn't want a good review and most importantly given a (generous cash tip). A big disappointment. My friend went twice and had her hair colored by Jordan. She left (both times-really not happy). She felt for the $300 price+tip the color and overall experience as mediocre at best. I was told if I want to get color or highlights to go ask for someone other than Jordan. For me, I wasn't coming in for color or highlights. I just needed to get two Aveda products I was almost out of. I was at the Burr Ridge mall, and happen to be parked in front of the Keema salon so I decided to stop in for the first time. I walked in and a lady who looked to be late 30's with very short platinum "P!NK-the singer type" styled hair, who appeared to be pregnant was having a very personal conversation with another person. It appeared to be "boyfriend problems" related. I patiently waited. I had some questions but I felt I was an interruption to their "unprofessional gossip". The energy in the salon is not what I expected. It was very negative. Knowing that at these type of private salons the person ringing you out gets commission for Aveda products that get purchased, I decided I wasn't going to waste any more of my time or money at a salon I didn't feel a good energy about.
