    Italian Subs on Ciabata

DiSalvo's Deli is a must when in the Dayton area... I'm a homer because my cousins own DiSalvo's Deli, but if you've ever been to NYC you know all about the Italian delis and markets... They're everywhere and smell amazing when you walk in - DiSalvo's Deli is no different and is like walking into a family-owned NYC throwback establishment. If you like NY-style subs, fresh made pizza, pastas, sauces, breads, mozzarella, and a huge selection of Italian imports, DiSalvo's Deli needs to be your next stop. Ronnie & Mindy have been in business for 40 years - You will not be disappointed with the food, quality products, and friendly family service/atmosphere.

Disalvo's Deli & Italian Store feels like it was transplanted from the heart of Little Italy. This place is popular. It can be a little chaotic. You order at the counter, find a seat and they bring the food out. You then pay at the check out counter after you eat, which is something different. We ordered the italian sub and chicken parm. They are sold as "half" subs, but still about 9-10" long. The Italian sub was good, but I wasn't a huge fan of the crunchy baguette bread. Next time I would get regular soft sub bread. The Italian dressing was A+ and made the sandwich. I wish it had more dressing. The chicken parm was extra cheesy, and the breaded chicken was good. We noticed that some people's sandwiches came with house chips, but ours didn't and we weren't exactly sure why. They also have a full array of different pasta salads, and a whole case of desserts. Aside from the deli, they sell a variety of pastas, sauces, and just about anything else you'd need to make an authentic Italian dinner.

I drove up here just to have somewhere different to go, I wanted a good deli sandwich and got a chicken parm, and a cannoli for dessert. All to go. After I ended up with a flat tire less than a mile down the road I wish I had eaten here. But even waiting on the tow truck and getting home 2 hours later the food was still super yummy and I will be glad to come back. It was almost standing room only when I walked in and by the time I took the photos they had mostly left. I will gladly come back to the area even if it is a 30 minute drive from my house. Next time I will eat in.

I stepped in and felt like I was plopped right into little Italy in NYC. Hustle and bustle all about. A group of older people playing a game at one of the tables. Orders being shouted throughout. Then immediately hit with amazing customer service both behind the counter and I believe a manager who was walking around talking to customers. The smell was amazing and you could see everything was being made in house. They even had a frozen section to pick up your own Italian treats to eat at home. Definitely go and try them out for yourself

My husband and I adore this place. The food is delicious and very reasonably priced. We have enjoyed everything we've ordered there and keep going back again and again. We've tried their pasta, desserts, pizza, sandwiches, salads, and soups, and nothing has disappointed us. The food tastes like real food with fresh ingredients. It has such a fun, welcoming environment, and the staff are so friendly. If you go multiple times, you may quickly recognize some regulars that patron all the time (can you blame them?) It kind of reminds us of a deli in jersey or New York. We can't recommend Disalvo's deli enough.

Love, love, love this authentic Italian family Deli and Italian Store. We wanted to go to the restaurant but it didn't open until later in the day. We were so excited when we found out they have a deli and an Italian store right next to the restaurant! From the moment you walk in you feel so welcomed and loved! The atmosphere is so lively and fun. They had a constant stream of customers coming in. You order your food at the counter, go get your bottled drinks from the refrigerator cooler, then go sit down. They bring the food to your table, after you're done eating you pay for everything, just like at a restaurant. They offer fresh in house made salads, deli sandwiches, subs, a hot pasta dish of the day, pizza, meats and cheeses, etc. Almost everything they serve is fresh in house made, from fresh grind meats, smoked meats, in house made salads and pasta, and mozzarella cheese to name a few!!! My family and I ordered three pasta of the day dishes, a Summer Salad, a Snickerdoodle cookie, a Chocolate Cannoli, a bottle of Sweat Tea, and a bottle of water. Oh my, it was all so yummy, delicious, authentic, and so fresh! I think our bill came to around $50 for all of that plus a large jar of their famous DiSalvo Pasta Sauce. We highly recommend this place!

You know I gotta try it out Right next to a gas station, seem like a pretty safe area. I don't know how long this place been here, but walking in feels like the place just got renovated, very clean, and welcoming, one of the girl is not, seem like she just woke up, even tho is 4pm in the afternoon, maybe she got started her shift My server was more friendly, very nice lady I can't remember what my ordered, but you can see it on the menu. Now I don't know is me or because of what it is now in our country, everything seem sooooo expensive You see in my photo, that sandwich is like $17, you can order half sandwich half side, or the full sandwich like mine for the same price, like I said, is 4pm in the afternoon, this is my first meal, so I'm going for the full. Added basket of fries for $4.99 and a cup of soup another $4.99 Food is okay, nothing special. I'm not a big fan, the reason why I'm giving it 5 stars even tho is not up to my standards of taste, that's because of me, everyone taste are different, I'm not going to let what my taste effect my stars rating, the food still good, place is clean, my server is friendly A bit expensive, I walked out of there $30, for a sandwicH, fries and soup, in a tiny little town of Dayton? The Miso dressing on the salad was bright and lip-smacking good. The rest of the salad was well-balanced. We liked the food so much we got cookies too and gobbled them before we left. The husband-and-wife team behind Grist has created one of the most inventive pasta menus you'll find anywhere. It's casual--you order at the counter--but don't mistake that for ordinary dining. We started with the rosemary Parmesan focaccia and the cow's milk burrata. Both were excellent. The focaccia was simple, fresh, and perfectly executed, while the burrata was an absolute standout. For our entrées, we had the Mafalda al Agnello, Raviolo al'Uovo, Spring Pea Agnolotti, and Tonnarelli di Mare. Every pasta was handmade and beautifully prepared. The Mafalda stole the show, with wide, ruffled ribbons coated in an incredible braised lamb sauce. The Raviolo al'Uovo was unlike anything I've had before--a single oversized raviolo with remarkable flavor and a presentation that was as memorable as it was delicious. Grist is proof that great dining doesn't require white tablecloths. It simply requires talented people making exceptional food. We couldn't recommend it more.
