Overstuffed Brisket Sandwich - if you say so! :)
    Dean S.

So... we've talked about going here for quite sometime because I love a decent Rueben. We get there, it's Sunday early evening. The store is pretty much empty. Its interior is super cute with a diner type atmosphere and a full bar no less!? We walk in and adhere to the signage that states to wait for hostess for seating... so we wait. and wait.. and wait some more where a nice lady comes out of the kitchen and realizes we are standing there. I was borderline becoming impatient and was about to leave. So we get seated. Check out the menu where it all sounds good. I love the premise where they seem to admitting they steal recipes from other stores around the country and recreate them here and that's how they became 'All the Best'. So I ordered half Rueben with pastrami and corned beef, a side of matzo ball soup. The lovely Mrs ordered 1/2 hot brisket sandwich and chicken noodle soup. No clue how long it took from ordering to being at our table but it was a bit of time. The sandwiches are okay. The bread on both sandwiches was way too hard to enjoy the actual sandwiches as a whole. Not a lot of meat. The soups... in a perfect world, your soup would be piping hot. Ours were actually unusually cold? Like they were straight out of the fridge and somebody forgot to microwave them to warm the up? I had never had matzo ball soup so I had to google if it was served cold like gazpacho or vichyssoise. So... for $40 with tip this was a bit egregious for me but hey... we finally tried it.

Sorry for 4 stars but gotta be realistic here. Had 1/2 Reuben (pastrami) and beef/barley/mushroom soup. Both were as good as I've ever had. If I were reviewing only on food taste and presentation I'd have gone 5 stars and never looked back. The reason for 4 is not any one thing but a series of small issues. The lack of fountain soda means no free refills, besides this how do you have a full bar and no fountain soda? The service while spot on couldn't hide how long it took for me to get 1/2 a sammy and a bowl of soup which was excessive at best. Last issue, for what, I got and the amount of prep involved, $20+ before tip felt a bit proud. Would not stop me from coming back as I really enjoyed the food, just know it's a bit pricey. Otherwise the place is very clean and bright and I really like that they have a counter for people that just want a quick seat and food.

Feeling under the weather recently, and I decided to get some soup from All The Best Delicatessen, at the recommendation of this group. Their soup is SO bland! Absolutely no flavor to it at all. If I had been sick to my stomach and hugging the toilet, it would have been perfect. But actually wanting something with flavor, this wasn't it. They do try to wrap it up really tightly, so that to go soup doesn't spill. Still had a bit of spillage, but I'm sure it would have been worse if not for the extra plastic bags. Pictured is their matzo ball and chicken noodle soup.

I love a good sandwich. While I was in Ohio, I came across this place. I have never went to a real delicatessen and this place checked that box. I was impressed by the freshness of the products. The sandwiches are quite pricey so we just ordered soup and desserts. The cheese cake was amazing. My boyfriend had a brownie. He loved it. We also had beef and barley soup. Everything we had was great. I will definitely be back.

We enjoyed the new bar area with TVs and beer on tap. Food was great as ever.

I think I've driven by this place a zillion times without realizing it's there... Hint: DON'T!! Good service, great menu, and the best spot in the region to go if you're "homesick" for good, old fashioned NY deli food!! In a misguided effort to avoid SHOCKING my Ohioooooo friends, I stuck to the more "traditional," slightly less "ethnic" options, just ordered half a corned beef sandwich, which came with the world's tiniest Israeli salad, both of which were very good. NEXT time, I'm going all OUT and sampling their chopped liver (REALLY, if it's made right, it can be GOOD!!) herring (yum!!) knishes (Mmmmmmmm, gotta' give 'em a try...) tongue (yep!!) and/or a big bowl of matzo ball soup. Missing some of the even more "classic" deli items, but this was a great sampling, down to the tempting dessert options, including babka, cheesecake, rugelach, and even black and white cookies!! No, it's NOT a Kosher deli, but here you'll find a sampling of ALL (most, anyway...) of the BEST that a good NY deli will offer. Come hungry, and enjoy a meal you don't get very often in this "neck of the woods!!"

We had an early appointment in the area so we stopped by for breakfast. I got the nova bagel sandwich and my husband got the whitefish bagel sandwich. They were both tasty. I personally expected just a bit more salmon on mine considering it's supposed to be a Jewish deli, and I'm used to them piling on the lox back in Jersey. The amount of whitefish was perfect though. The sandwiches came with onion, capers and tomato. I appreciated the capers, a lot of local places don't have them as an option. My biggest complaint is the bagel itself. I normally prefer my bagels un-toasted, but if I go back I'll be sure to ask for it toasted. They're just not quite right. A little better than other bagels I've had in OH, but just ok. We also ordered some whitefish salad from the deli which I didn't get to try yet. I'll update if it's as good as what I crave from the East Coast. We'll be back because I'd like to try the knish and potato pancakes. We did counter service and both ladies behind the counter were very nice. Overall a good experience.

Ordered takeout for lunch here on a Saturday around 1 pm. We were able to order swiftly and the food came out in about 10-15 minutes. We ordered a variety of sandwiches and soups. We all enjoyed the brisket overstuffed hot sandwich. It was ~$20 and it was a good size. I'm not sure how much extra meat there was compared to the regular size. I also ordered the chicken noodle soup. It was a little lackluster in flavor. But the soup was a good size for ~$6. My parents really enjoyed their tomato and mushroom beef barely soup. Overall we had a nice dining experience here and we are glad we tried it!

Tums on every table???? Should I be concerned?

Order was delivered really fast and items were packaged carefully in a brown paper bag. Some white paper napkins came with the order, a pickle wedge wrapped in a plastic bag, and a small container of what looked like thousand island dressing sauce (presumably for the cheeseburger). The American Cheeseburger is two all beef patties, with American cheese, lettuce, ketchup, mayonnaise, mustard, and some sliced pickles. Presentation was really good. The burgers were fried well done! The American Cheeseburger tasted very good! It was a little crispy along the edges. The pickles tasted a bit spicy. It's a really good burger and the price was reasonable. The Street Fries came in a paper cup and were well seasoned and fried perfectly. I used the container of thousand island sauce for the Street Fries since American cheeseburger already had enough condiments on it. The thousand island sauce is a little spicy but not too bad. I give Dayton Street Eats five stars. Delivery was prompt, food was fresh and really good, and the price seems fair considering similar fare at more mainstream establishments would probably be more expensive but with no greater quality. Highly recommended and I would patronize again!

At 6:30 am, the place was already a little busy but a two-top table was a comfortable set up with an outlet adjacent. I ordered a cortado from the barista and she brought it over to my seat. Perfection. Served in the proper short glass and with a small glass of sparkling water, this is precisely how it's supposed to be. The order arrived fairly quick and was in a styrofoam container placed in a plastic bag. There is a lot of ham on this sandwich and the fries were plentiful! I really enjoyed the sandwich. The ham slices were tender and the bread was lightly buttered. I didn't see an option to add mayonnaise or I would have. I felt the sandwich was a little dry. I also barely tasted the provolone cheese. It's there but sliced really thin. The fries were good, and there were a lot of them. They weren't too oily but not exactly crispy either. I think the meal was a good value. I just wish they would have had an option to add condiments. There were some napkins with the order but no condiments. Recently, I was finally able to give it a try! They have quite the selection of cheesesteaks -- more kinds than I knew existed. Cuban, Buffalo, Greek and Italian styles just to name a few. I ended up going with the namesake, STS Chicken Philly (STS for Steak Thyme Subs), which comes with mushrooms, onions, peppers, STS sauce and fries on top. I requested the fries to come on the side instead of on top of the sandwich, which worked out nicely as then I didn't have to order a side. They offer 6 inch or 12 inch subs. I went with a 12 inch, and was surprised to see when it came out that it was actually just two 6 inch sandwiches. This worked out great, because I only ended up eating half and was able to take the entire second 6 inch sandwich home for leftovers. Overall, the cheesesteak was delicious and the leftovers heated up really well. The STS sauce is kind of a mix between thousand island and chipotle mayo. Interesting, but good. The inside is rather spacious, but we noticed most people got food to-go. Service was obnoxiously good -- I say obnoxious because it was almost to the point of hovering, if that makes sense. But overall, the food was good and they have such a variety that you could try something different each time.
