    My friends and I were lucky enough to get a reservation a month in advance for a weekday lunch. Upon entering the restaurant, the service was impeccable: the staff took our coats and shepherded us to our table in an elegant, almost minimalist, dining room. The meal itself was beautifully presented, with Japanese and French influences. The highlights for me were easily the Parmesan amuse bouche, herb foam with lobster and caviar and sorbet, and the mouth-watering miso encrusted pigeon. While the others in my party loved the famed Garden salad, I thought it was a bit heavy on the cream dressing. The desserts were beautifully made, especially the chestnut meringue - but I have to admit meringue itself isn't my favorite. At the conclusion of our meal, they allowed us a photo op with the chef, and sent us off with a signed copy of the menu and some house made caramels. Overall, the Kei experience provided a fantastic and lengthy meal that left me lethargic at the end, but impressed and satisfied with how I spent the afternoon.

    In early-February 2020 my husband and I went to Paris on vacation for our birthdays and Valentine's Day and during our trip was looking for a unique fine dining experience to celebrate. And we found that in Kei Restaurant. Making reservations a few months out was easy and they were all so warm and welcoming. Please know the restaurant has staff that speaks both French and English. This meal should get way more than 5 stars, as it was that amazing. The courses were works of art and the fusion of French and Japanese cuisines blew us away. Actually a week or so before our visit the restaurant received its second Michelin star -- very well deserved!! When things get back to normal and if you find yourself in Paris, Kei Restaurant is a must visit. It's that incredible.

    Food was 4 stars, service is 1 star. I made this reservation for my birthday lunch months ahead and planned a trip to Paris. Reservation was done on email, in English, and it was smooth. We arrived a little bit earlier than the reservation time at around 12:35. We were seated immediately, right to another couple. At this point the restaurant was 80% empty. We were wondering why we got seated next to people when it was empty... However the place was quickly filled up so it was fine. There are only three choices on the menu. We wanted to order two different one but the nicest dressed waiter told us we can only order the same item as chef wants the food to come out at same time, we were cool with that...I understand. We were served by different staff throughout the meal. Some can speak better English, some don't. One of the server knock down a wine glass (luckily it was empty) of my next table! Don't forget it's a Michelin one star restaurant.... The amuse, appetizer and all the dishes tasted amazing. When they served us the main (beef), it came as is. We had it happily until we saw other table were served with some kind of sauce or jus. Unfortunately when I saw it we already finished the dish!! Not only that another table seem to have one more piece (and bigger) than ours...I asked one of the server and the response after he went to check with the other staff was "oh I was the one who served you but I forgot about the sauce/jus", "I don't know what I can do to make it up"... After a while he took some wine glass without wine and said he can offer us dessert wine on the house...however, at the beginning of the meal, I already said I do not drink so we didn't order any wine ... We wouldn't take the offer just because it was free?? The point was we don't drink at all.... Then we declined the offer and he quickly took the glasses away.... Nothing was offered after that (not that i was waiting for freebies or something). Washroom was clean but without hand towels (they were all used and just no clean ones lying around). Guess what I did?? I sneaked into men's bathroom to steal a clean towel to use lol. I read other reviews that the chef would go out and greet the guests when they leave, and this time chef kobayashi did not come out at all when we left the restaurant. I did see him some out few times when other guests left the place. Again, the food was very tasty. See my comment under each picture... I don't think I would come back. I have been to Japan many times and always wowed by their service. Perhaps service is only promised when it's actually in Japan.

    I had the degustation lunch (120€, 9 courses!!!) on a Saturday and it was the best meal of my life. Every course is both highly complex and totally delicious - it is food made to be eaten and appreciated, not just experimentations to become a talked-about chef. The restaurant itself is calm, sophisticated and comfy - white and grey tones, huge cushions everywhere, and nice waiters who know their stuff. So if, like I do, never know which birthday gift to ask for... Here the best idea you might have had in years :)

    This place was amazing and restored my faith in the Michelin star food and service. With no listed items on the menu they were very accomodating for any allergies or food tastes, making sure very course was special. Starting with the amazing beef tartar and a salad unlike anything I have ever eaten. Not a single item disappointed but rather surpassed the expectations of my palette and blew my mind. The flare, creativity and shaping of dishes not only provided the most memorable meal of France, but made me love food or items I normally prefer not to eat. They truly deserve their Michelin rating.

    This is one of the better Michelin star experiences I've had around the globe, having eaten in a number of places. The services were attentive from all the servers, every dish was excellent and the chef was also accommodating in serving me main courses from the different tasting menus. The pigeon was my favorite, along with the sea bass fried with its scale. Even the goat cheese dessert took me by surprise in its lightness and flavors - I don't usually like cheese and yet I appreciated the dessert. Well done chef!

    This was the best dining experience we have ever had. Lovely luxurious dining room. Food beautifully presented and tasted amazing. A really wonderful experience for any occasion. Service is very relaxed in this slik design restaurant. The food is filled with subtle flavors and even when you take the big menu, you savor it until the last bite. fresh, delicate; luxurious tastes in this asian French fusion cuisine.

However, it is definitely overshadowed by the rich flavor of the foie gras. This experience was unforgettable, with our view of Parisian streets on a brisk, April night. We even came back on our last night, but didn't realize the hours on Google maps was for the deli. The restaurant closes earlier, before 9:00 PM. This meal got us thinking about Paris in a positive light, and we hope to be able to come back to eat the amazing dishes again!

My friend's duck breast was pretty tough; I had noticed the table next to us also ordered it and they seemed to have trouble finishing/cutting theirs as well. As for my steak with foie gras, well the steak was once again tough and the foie gras was weirdly stringy. It was soft for the most part but there were parts that were tough and stringy. Maybe that's a section that's generally separated in the preparation process and it was missed? In any case it was disappointing. What wasn't disappointing was dessert though; perfectly sweet and balanced.

You can also get it with salmon. My brothers and I only saw my mother use our gas range to light her cigarettes, sanitize needles to remove our splinters, and make s'mores during the summer months when she couldn't muster the energy to take us 'outside camping.' I mean, all she had to do was borrow a cookbook, which I'm sure were readily available from maybe a neighbor or in any local bookstore or the public library. How hard is that? I was the only kid who brought a can of tuna and his own monogrammed can opener to school every day. Every day. And mom convinced me that the tuna holster she got me for my birthday was cool and hip. I was a naive mercury-filled fool, although I did become a very fast runner in junior high school because of the tuna holster. The interior décor of Bistro des Augustins is informal and vintage bistro style - wooden tables, traditional chalkboard menus, and soft lighting - creating a relaxed and comfy ambiance. When I arrived, there was a rustic table in the entry room where I was seated. I ordered an entrée of mini mushroom raviolis in truffle sauce, a plat of scallops over orzo which had chorizo chunks and a dessert of frozen Grand Marnier soufflé. The portions were generous. I enjoyed the mini mushroom raviolis and delicious Grand Marnier soufflé. The plat was somewhat odd because the chorizo chunks were really strong flavored which overpowered the scallops. I ate one chorizo chunk and pushed the rest aside. The scallops were cooked perfectly but not seasoned. The service was gruff/quite brief with dishes dropped by assistants. My biggest complaint was the stressful ambiance during the meal. It was freezing outside. The door constantly opened and new patrons came in hovering over diners in my room. Luckily I was not closer to the door and didn't have anyone over me. For ~170 Euros, the food was good but the experience was not.
